November 2019 edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or promotion. From your contributions, this seems to be your only purpose.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.   DGG ( talk ) 04:48, 1 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Please unblock to make edits. please state why we are being blocked for advertising only. what sources need to be added? the bio of the person the article is about has been dead for many years not promoting. there is a similar article on south Carolina encyclopedia page.

Decline reason:

That was one of the worst violations of WP:PROMO I've ever seen. Totally unencyclopedic in tone. You need to convince us you understand this if you ever wish to be unblocked. I also see a likely violation of WP:COI here. Look, it's great that you are trying to promote Mr. Marvin, and it sounds like he was a good and interesting person. But Wikipedia isn't the place for this. Yamla (talk) 14:19, 12 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Editor, please note this man, John McKissick was inducted into the South Carolina hall of fame the year after Robert Marvin. Trying to create a page similar. there is no conflict of interest. We also have sources and can rewrite in 'tone' this page has. Thank you for your kindness. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_McKissick

Decline reason:

I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. -- Deepfriedokra 15:55, 12 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Please note that shared accounts are not permitted. You say "we"; only one person can have access to this page. John McKissick is nowhere near as promotional as the article you were trying to create. If it was, WP:OTHERSTUFF would apply and we'd delete that article, not allow you to create another one violating WP:PROMO. You claim there is no conflict of interest. Please state your exact relationship to Marvin and exactly why you are so interested in creating an article about him. Note that off-wiki evidence shows a clear conflict of interest for someone with the last name, Henderson. --Yamla (talk) 15:08, 12 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
