Speedy deletion nomination of Ross & McBride LLP edit

A tag has been placed on Ross & McBride LLP requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. I42 (talk) 18:00, 11 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

I added a hangon tag to the article and was about to paste your creation rationale to the discussion page, but it was quickly deleted. I believe Speedy Deletion was the correct course of action and the deleting admin clearly agreed. Although there were references, none of them were to reliable and significant sources independent of the subject, so notability was not established per WP:CORP. File source and copyright licensing problem with File:XLERATOR 800 x 800.jpg edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:XLERATOR 800 x 800.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 16:09, 17 June 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Marcus Qwertyus (talk) 16:09, 17 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

You'll need to read this. The OTRS volunteers tend to be very, very picky so read the directions carefully. Marcus Qwertyus (talk) 16:19, 17 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of XLERATOR edit

The article XLERATOR has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Promotional article. The references are all either spurious (e.g. #1 is about a rival product) or based on PR material, or do not qualify as reliable sources per WP policy. Fails WP:SPAM, WP:RS

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. andy (talk) 16:23, 17 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Articles for deletion nomination of XLERATOR edit

I have nominated XLERATOR, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/XLERATOR. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Marcus Qwertyus (talk) 15:19, 23 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Commercial links edit

to companies selling the products/services are not allowed on wikipedia. Your last edits were mass-adding links to http://www.charlesrichter.com and were removed. Please avoid such links and use less commercial ones (e.g. Google Books). Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 22:40, 26 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (File:Community Commando Vol. 2 Num. 3.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading File:Community Commando Vol. 2 Num. 3.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:13, 21 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
