Reversion of Global City Edits

edit

Hi Helperedits, I just wanted to let you know that your removal of information from the "Global City" page has been undone. The removal of the listing of cities does not add anything to the article, and because the example cities provided are such a small sample, it creates bias towards the few listed cities. The information is at it appears on the GaWC website (check the sources) and is listed for informational purposes. The gallery has also been removed, due to numerous problems with cities being misrepresented with pictures from other cities. Simply clicking on the name of the linked city will bring you to the proper city page. I ask that you please refrain from mass deletion of information in the future.

If you'd like to talk about this, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks!

Proposed deletion of Cineworld (Bradford)

edit

The article Cineworld (Bradford) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of individual notability, distinct from the chain as a whole, which already has an article.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.   Hello, I'm IronGargoyle. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Star Wars: The Force Awakens  with this edit, without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. IronGargoyle (talk) 19:40, 18 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi there! Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to Star Wars: The Force Awakens does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. Thanks! Mike1901 (talk) 19:45, 18 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. - theWOLFchild 00:18, 19 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Ways to improve Joe and Caspar Hit The Road

edit

Hi, I'm JamesG5. Helperedits, thanks for creating Joe and Caspar Hit The Road!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Directed by "Brian" who? Released in what countries? Where are the sources? I had to do some research to determine if this was even a real thing or if it met WP:NOTABILITY. Please expand and add sources.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. JamesG5 (talk) 16:52, 8 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

WP:FILMPLOT

edit

Hi there, though I'm sure you meant well with your recent edits at Fan (film), the plot content you submitted in this edit is far too long. Plot summaries should be 400-700 words. Your version exceeded 1400 words which is clearly too long. Overly-long plot summaries might be considered a derivative work, which raises copyright problems. I have reverted your edit. You are free to improve the existing prose, but you should not exceed the 700 word cap, please. Thanks. Additionally, please keep an eye out for embedded notes like the one currently in the plot section which reads:

Note: Per WP:FILMPLOT, this section should be 400-700 words long. Lengthy summaries may present serious copyright concerns as "derivative works". Please keep the length under 700 words. See Wikipedia:FAQ/Copyright#Derivative_works

Thanks. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 06:56, 24 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

WP:FILMPLOT again

edit

Please keep plot descriptions under 700 words. Your resubmission of overly detailed plot here despite my previous notification informing you about established community consensus, is disruptive. If you resubmit plot that materially exceeds 700 words, I will have no choice but to assume you're doing it to be disruptive. See WP:FILMPLOT and Wikipedia:FAQ/Copyright#Derivative works. You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on 18th IIFA Awards requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.   Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with 18th IIFA Awards. Speedy deletion nomination of Controversy of Padmavati

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Controversy of Padmavati requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Padmavati_(film). For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Speedy deletion nomination of Smashby

edit

Hello Helperedits,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Smashby for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing because it appears that you are not here to build an encyclopedia.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:46, 17 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
For this. I question your competence if you think "they fucked" is an appropriate substitution for "they got intimate". You're free to request an unblock, but be prepared to explain to a reviewing administrator why you think that was appropriate tone for an encyclopedia in the context of a plot description. Since you haven't responded to any previous notices on your talk page, I think it's important that you communicate about this situation. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:54, 17 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
