Matthias Hentze

edit

Hallo Heidelberg! The article was originally created as "Matthias hentze". I moved it to Matthias Hentze, but that leaves the old article as a redirect. No need to delete it, redirects are cheap... As for getting this article high in Google, I really have no idea. As far as I know, Google ranks pages by (among other things) number of links to them. The page is still new, so it may take a while before it gets up there in Google. Beste Grüsse, --Crusio (talk) 14:19, 11 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

  • Lieber Matthias, Acually, yers, you have to create a page in the German Wikipedia. Then, at the bottom of the page, you place "[[en:Mathias Hentze]]" and at the bottom of the English page you place "[[de:Matthias Hentze]]". By the way, I noticed that you removed two tags from the English page. The article is indeed not an orphan any more, but the citations tag should be put back, because that has not been corrected yet. It's just a maintenance tag, so don't worry about it. Also, Wikipedia does not forbid but discourages autobiographies (see WP:AUTO), for good reasons. Just so you know... :-) Beste Gruesse. --Crusio (talk) 10:26, 23 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
  • Genau. In all articles, and especially WP:BLPs (biography of living people), every statement needs to be supported by an inline reference to reliable, independent sources. Hence the tag. For an example, here is a bio I created a while ago. By the way, the German wiki has similar rules (although I think they are less stringent in enforcing them). --Crusio (talk) 14:15, 23 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
  • Hi again, I think that the database with his thesis info certainly is a reliable source. However, it is not an inline reference. Also, it only supports the statement that he indeed did a thesis. Have a look at the bio of HEndrik de Wit which I recently created, which is full of inline citations, and you'll see what is meant with that and what is meant with adequate sourcing. For de Wit, for example, I know that he was married, I know when his wife passed away, and I know that he had at least one son. However, apart from my personal knowledge, I don't have a source for that, so this information is not in the article. I am not a reliable source in Wikipedia's sense... :-) As for the medical doctor, it's really only a minor thing, I think. As far as I see, Hentze is not a practicising physician and given that he's a scientist with a professor's appointment, it's rather evident that he will have a doctorate (if he hadn't a doctorate, that would be worth mentioning!) Also, in English it doesn't really sound very serious to me. What counts are his accomplishments, not some diploma he obtained years ago. I won't take it out again if you put it back, but I'd advise you to leave it as it is. I will transform the German database link into an inline reference, to give you an example of what is needed. Happy editing! --Crusio (talk) 15:32, 24 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for uploading File:EMBL campus Heidelberg.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Jamietw (talk) 15:41, 18 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for File:OMZ Heidelberg.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:OMZ Heidelberg.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 16:07, 18 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Help with licencing question

edit

{{helpme}} I am trying to undelete two photos that I added to the page: Molecular Medicine Partnership Unit. I am clearly not giving the correct page name for the photo, which I thought was: File:EMBL campus Heidelberg.jpg. The second one is File:OMZ Heidelberg.jpg. I would like to find a way of giving the correct license information to undelete these. Many thanks. Heidelberg0909 (talk) 10:57, 27 April 2011 (UTC) }}Reply

Please could you arrange for EMBL photolab (using their official email address) to send an email giving their explicit permission to use the photographs (after reading and understanding the consent), by sending an appropriate consent form - as shown in Wikipedia:Declaration of consent for all enquiries. It would be helpful if the exact filenames were stated in the subject line of the email - ie File:OMZ Heidelberg.jpg and EMBL campus Heidelberg.jpg. Please let me know on my talk page when that has been done (or if you have questions), and I will try to help further. Thank you.  Chzz  ►  11:26, 27 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
Please let me know, on User talk:Chzz, if you ever arrange this. The "Request for undeletion" has been archived, because we're pending waiting for this email. Cheers,  Chzz  ►  13:36, 9 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
