Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Edistan edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, introducing inappropriate pages, such as Draft:Edistan, is not in accordance with our policies. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Under section G3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, the page has been nominated for deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Ok but how do you delete stuff

A user may request deletion of a page they created which nobody else has worked on by sinply adding the tenplate {{db-self}} and then clickng "Publish changes". An administrator will be flagged over by this, and will delete the page for you. Normal editors like you and me can't actuslly delete any psges ourselves. Thank you edit

This is just a hasty note to thank you for blanking the content of Draft:Edistan and to say sorry I had to propose it for deletion. I realise this can seem like a kick in the teeth, and very demoralising for you as a new editor. The problem is, Wikipedis is quite a serious project, with little room for making up stuff. That said, do stick with it if you really want to contribute to the world's greatest enclopaedia.Do have a go at the interactive tour called The Wikipedia Adventure; try using your personal sandbox for test edits, and seek further help at the Teahouse if you need it.

Unfortunately, your choice of username could lead other editors to wonder if you're here just to mess around. So you might have to work extra hard to prove them all wrong. Make little edits first, perhaps looking for articles on topics that interest you, possibly fixing typos or improving the wording, where appropriate. Do read WP:REFBEGIN before you try adding new factual content to any page. (Your edits will be quickly reverted if you dont support new statements with reliable sources. Anyway, good luck at the start of your own Wikipedia adventure. It's up to you what you want to put in and what you get out of it. Committed and serious young editors will find a lot of people here willing to help them and to forgive accidental errors made in good faith. We are, I'm afraid, far less tolerant of those who don't appear to be committed to learn how to contribute. With best wishes, Nick Moyes (talk) 21:49, 22 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

q edit

Ok. Is there a way to delete my account or have it deleted or something because I don’t like being spammed by emails all the time.

Nobody is spamming you. You probably set up an email address in Special:Preferences and accepted the default of being sent an alert when someone contacts you, as I'm doing now. Most editors find that quite helpful. You can easily change your preferences so that you don't get email notification messages - they're certainly not spam - but you'll still receive an online alert notification at the top of the page. If you want to delete your account, simply stop using it and no-one will care about you any more, and you will hear nothing more from anyone if you've turned off the email option of removed the email you supplied. No account ever gets deleted. Not using it is as close as it gets. Does that make sense and help you? If not, please red through WP:Notifications for more information, and also Help:Preferences.
