Trade route WP:FA nom edit

Hello. I've replied in more detail to your request about FAC Trade Routes opinion on my talk page. It's typical old man waffling, but I hope I've sufficiently supplied you with my reasons for thinking as I do. Michael Devore 23:01, 14 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Reminder edit

Hey, I know you've probably been real busy with the Trade routes FAC, but I just wanted to remind you that there are a few things I need to pass Jim Corbett National Park. It's on hold, but considering your circumstances I'm willing to cut you some extra slack on the time issue. Let me know when you get around to it... VanTucky Talk 19:53, 15 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Jim Corbett edit

Dane Man, Congragulations! You did lots of work and a great job. Glad I could help. My 2 major articles I want to see upgraded are Silent Valley National Park and Palani Hills National Park for which I am now in South India and will be gathering aditional source material and photos, but no time or bandwidth to actively work on the articles now. Any suggestions or input on these articles will be appreciated.-Marcus (talk) 04:30, 21 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Both the articles have some really good stuff, especially the images and some citations are great.
Let me take a closer look and I'll try to point out some specifics.

You know what ? I've been through the articles thrice now and all they need is WP:MoS compliance and some structure.
You have done a great job with the articles and all the material necessary for reaching a higher level on the quality scale is there.
Would you mind if I tried to edit these articles and see what happens ?

Also, can you help make Template:Protected areas of India collapsible ? It occupies too much space.

Re: edit

Yes please, by all means, edit the articles to your heart's content. You're a great fixer upper. Regarding Protected areas of india template, I made it collapse. I had the same issue with Template:WildlifeofIndia and went ahead and made it collapse, but someone got upset with my reducing their billboard, and deleted the collapsable version and their discussion about it. Can't people just leave well enough alone?Marcus (talk) 07:52, 25 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for making the template collapsible and for giving me the go ahead to fix the article. Most of the work in the article is already done and I'll just try and do some fixing and WP:GA nomination.
I'll get to as soon as I finish Spice trade, my present occupation on WP. Spice trade should not take more than 2-3 days from now though.

I think you are doing a great job handling the whole thing - despite computer viruses and crashes. It's hard to accommodate so many diverse views with good humor. Mattisse 01:52, 22 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the greetings! edit

I wish all the best for you in the coming year! I meant to work more with you on the Trade route issues. The more I read, the more comfused I become!. My book on the Silk Road really covers way more that just silk and spans a long period of time. In fact, the book says that the name "Silk Road" is a new name, just appearing within the last century (I think -- can't find the reference right now.)
