Template discussion

edit

Reason for template: While tidying up some of the image description backlog I kept noticing that a large number of images had been licensed as uploader's own work, yet appeared to be obvious scans / images of someone elses work. A lot of these have been included in articles across the WikiPedia family, so would prefer to give user opportunity to correct the problem / change license rationale without going directly to PUF.

I have had a look for something similar, but haven't managed to locate anything. Obviously if something is already out there in Template space, there is no need for this one!

Suggested name: Template:icself-check

Documentation: would be outline use (placed on user talk page to give opportunity to edit apparently wrong application of {{self}} before going WikiPedia:PUF) & indicate that it is called with subst:

Any suggestions, rewording, simplifications, missing bits, improvement to way it is coded (eg. I'm hoping that as it stands it will automatically be Substituted) - or just a pointer to an existing template that does this already - before I copy it into Template Space much appreciated. --Haruth (talk) 02:56, 16 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Assuming this goes ahead, it should be available in conjunction with Twinkle's image tagging for those of us who use it to tag images more quickly. ww2censor (talk) 05:11, 16 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
