Henrikh Mkhitaryan

edit

Hi, Mkhitaryan was not part of the matchday squad, as part of the starting line-up or as a substitute, for the 2013 final so played no part in the competition. Therefore, it can't be listed as an honour when he had no part in the victory. Kosack (talk) 07:03, 2 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Whether it was due to injury or not is irrelevant. Not crediting him with winning a trophy that he didn't even play for is common sense in my opinion and certainly not original research, especially when you provide two sources, one of which (transfermarkt) is not even classed as a reliable source. This sort of thing has been brought up before, see Talk:Cristiano Ronaldo#Super Cup 2016 and Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football/Archive 105#Honours (for the 1,00000000th time) as examples of the mammoth discussions that have gone on over this issue. In all honesty, I struggle to understand how a player who played absolutely no part in a tournament can be classed as winning it. Kosack (talk) 23:26, 2 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
I never said either discussion helped my position, my point was that there is no clear consensus on this sort of situation. I'm not sure how you presume there is a consensus in your favour when neither discussion reaches that point in anyway. Really WP:COMMONSENSE should prevail in these moments but obviously it quite often doesn't. Kosack (talk) 07:03, 3 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
