Speedy deletion nomination of FSS (Financial Software and Systems) edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on FSS (Financial Software and Systems), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Managing a conflict of interest edit

  Hello, Haribabuwiki. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page FSS (Financial Software and Systems), you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Your edit summary on the article's creation ("We are a global company and a pioneer in the space of digtal payments and fintech") suggests either that you are connected to the company (not good) or you've copied material from their website and pasted it into Wikipedia (even worse). Please explain. Cabayi (talk) 12:09, 21 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

November 2018 edit

Hello, Haribabuwiki. Thank you for helping to build Wikipedia-- the world's largest free content encyclopedia. I'm sorry, but  FSS (Financial Software and Systems) has been deleted as meeting WP:CSD#G11. "This applies to pages that are exclusively promotional and would need to be fundamentally rewritten to conform with Wikipedia:NOTFORPROMOTION." These must be rewritten from scratch from "reliable, third party sources unconnected to the subject." See WP:RS.

Wikipedia:Identifying blatant advertising#Typical signs of blatant advertising contains information about content to avoid. For more information on content that may be perceived as promotional, click User:Dlohcierekim/promo. These are just rough guides. Pages can avoid all those pitfalls and still be glaringly obvious ad copy. Sometimes pages meeting WP:CSD#G11 give the appearance of an editor violating Wikipedia:Conflict of interest or WP:PAID. Please read and heed them if they apply to you. Please read Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations.

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia-- subjects must meet notability guidelines with reliable sources that are unconnected with the subject and providing verifiable information. That generally means someone unconnected with the subject needs to have written a great deal about the subject. Please see Wikipedia:Citing sources . Template:cite has templates you can use in citing your sources. Place the template {{references}} at the bottom of the page, and references cited in the text will appear there.

If you want to try again, please use the Article Wizard or articles for creation to guide you through the creation process. The new user tutorial can help you avoid future problems.

You may find this tool useful: Google custom search Don't feel discouraged. My first attempts at creating articles were deleted too.

There is more information at Wikipedia:Community portal. There is help available at THE TEAHOUSE. Cheers, and happy editing. -- Dlohcierekim (talk) 13:19, 21 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

A tag has been placed on FSS (Financial Software & Systems), requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

December 2018 edit

  This is your only warning; if you use Wikipedia for soapboxing, promotion or advertising again, as you did at FSS (Financial Software & Systems), you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Daiyusha (talk) 14:17, 3 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

FSS edit

Quoting your words, being a global leader and pioneer in fintech space doesn't warrant a space in Wikipedia. The encyclopedia is built on corroborative facts. Before the 3rd attempt was marked for "speedy deletion", I deleted 10+ reference links from your drafts because (a) they went to FSS site and (2) they weren't media coverages about FSS. However, a quick Google search does tell that FSS can get an encyclopedic entry provided a unbiased, non-promotional draft is created. It is best if you submit it to the AfC process. Have a great day! Csgir (talk)

Csgir, try googling "haribabu fss" - even more enlightening! Cabayi (talk) 14:24, 3 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
True, saw that Cabayi (talk). Was on the Linkedin page you linked in the previous message. I thought a Marketing & Communications professional should have created a better encyclopedic entry! Csgir (talk)
Welp, I guess that means user should read and heed WP:COI and WP:PAID before even thinking about editing.-- Dlohcierekim (talk) 20:34, 3 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for adding spam links. Persistent spammers will have their websites blacklisted from Wikipedia and potentially penalized by search engines.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Courcelles (talk) 15:09, 3 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Your reason here Why do you believe you should be unblocked? It is true that I work with FSS (Financial Software & Systems) in the Corporate Marketing and Communications team. Today, we live in a world of digital payments. Digital payments are an integral part of several businesses (eCommerce) and has changed the way people live. FSS, has played an instrumental role in the adoption of digital payments in over 20 countries. The company has an interesting story to tell. Because it is a B2B organisation, it does not have the popularity of companies like Apple. I am trying to share this story over Wikipedia. Unfortunately - it is being considered advertising. The article was not for advertising purposes, but to create an unbiased record of the company. An article on Wikipedia is not really going to help FSS acquire business leads, that is not my intent. My intent is only to create an unbiased story on your platform. Hence I request you to unblock me and also allow me to write an article of FSS, I promise to write it and share it with you for review. That I am employed with FSS should not matter. If you are unblocked, what articles do you intend to edit? FSS (Financial Software & Systems) to start with. I will rewrite the article and submit it to an editor for review. Why do you think there is a block currently affecting you? If you believe it's in error, tell us how. I do not believe it is an error, maybe there was a lack of good judgement on my part by not making the content entirely encyclopedic. Is there anything else you would like us to consider when reviewing your block? There are other companies from the same business segment that have wikipages. Examples below: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ACI_Worldwide https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FIS_(company) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiserv https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Razorpay https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Data https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NCR_Corporation https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euronet_Worldwide When all these companies can have wiki pages that talk about their products, awards / recognition, etc., in all fairness why not FSS? Haribabuwiki (talk) 07:12, 4 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Please read about conflict of interest and paid editing; you will not be permitted to publicize your company here. If you want to edit about other subjects outside of your conflict of interest as a general Wikipedia contributor, please state what those subjects might be. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 07:55, 4 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Please note that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and not a forum to merely tell about companies. Wikipedia is only interested in what independent reliable sources with significant coverage state about article subjects that are notable as Wikipedia defines it(for businesses, that is defined at WP:ORG, please review). Wikipedia has no interest in what a company wants to say about itself.

Yes, other companies do have articles here. However, that does not automatically mean yours merits one too. Please read WP:OSE. Each article is judged on its own merits. Not every company merits an article here, even within the same field. Companies merit articles if they meet the notability criteria that I link to above. The articles you speak of were likely not written by the companies themselves, but by independent editors who were writing about the companies and did not have a conflict of interest. If you want to be a general contributor and edit about things outside of your COI, please proceed as I state above. If you are just here to tell about your company, you will not be unblocked and should consider one of the alternative forums listed here. 331dot (talk) 07:55, 4 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
