Hi. I've reverted your recent edit to the Okita Soji article. As it's explained in the Okita article and on its discussion page (and in the Kikuichi-monji article), it was rumored that Okita Soji owned this sword (highly unlikely to be true.) Seven 01:06, 9 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Your edits on the Japan page

edit

Thanks for your input on the Japan article, however, I reverted some of your edits. Please see the talk page of the article, as the part you were referring to was toroughly discussed there (namely replacing Baekje with Asia). If you have any relevant references to remove Baekje and replace it with Asia, I think you may want to discuss them there first. Regards. Tensaibuta 11:48, 11 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Kikuichi-monji

edit

Since both Shiba and the Kikuichimonji have already been mentioned earlier in the Okita Soji article, I've moved your recent edit to the Kikuichi-monji article. Seven 19:47, 11 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Your comments on the Japan page

Let me reply here, rather than on the talk page of Japan. It is more "personnal"

By the way, how is a final edit done? I return it to the first setting. --HaradaSanosuke 15:46, 12 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

This is the tricky part of Wikipedia... There is no "final edit", so we must work together to find a wording that is least prone to reverting and vandalim, but still encyclopedic enough.... Anyway, I appreciate very much that you have taken my advice and not engaged into wild edits on controversial topics (and I think everyone does appreciate that). It is much better to start to discuss, rather than change everything and risk an edit war. As for your opinion, well, as you stated it is an opinion. That is the main problem, I suggest you read in detail WP:NPOV. It is a fundamental guideline for articles here. Regards Tensaibuta 10:26, 13 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for advice. I am Japanese. Therefore, I am very sensitive to the article on Japan. Perhaps, my experience is less than you. Therefore, I need your advice. By the way, does some Koreans the users like wild edit? I am surprised as them. I think that Korean's opinion is Korean's-sided. It is not an urgent problem. Therefore, I continue Talk though I do not participate in the edit. I cannot agree to the opinion of Edger. He is not considering the flow of the history of Japan. --HaradaSanosuke 18:56, 14 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Well, I can understand you are being sensitive on the Japan article... It is your country ! BTWMy experience is btw probably not too much different from yours.
Anyway, I would advice to stay on the talk page, just like you are doing right now. Honestly, if you "keep cool" and take the time to read the contributions of Edgar, you will see that he is honestly trying to do his best to improve the overall quality of the article (he actually wrote a large part of it), personnaly, I am inclined to trust his inputs. Some needs corrections, etc., but he is working hard.
The very difficult point for all of us is to keep calm and stay balanced. If there is no edit about the importance of Korea, it WILL be weird (I must agree with Edgar on the general idea : the influence of Korea in classical Japan was *huge*). But if there are too many references, it will also look like Korea-biased. My main concern at the present time on the article, rather than downplaying the important role of Korea (once again : there was some heavy Korean influence on Japan at the time) , is that it might need some more input on the Chinese influence, so that it gets balanced.
Also, on the other hand, if "KoreaKoreaKorea" is written everywhere, you actually get the feeling of a Korean bias.
Do Koreans also use wild edits? yes of course ! But vandalizing an article does nothing but turns people against you. This is true for everyone.
What can I tell you... as you are Japanese, your inputs on more detailed pages of Japanese history/culture could be very helpful. There are MANY other articles about Japan written here or that should be written, and if you have time I am sure you can help writing about some periods not very well known by Westerners.
The front Japan page is sometimes a playground for vandalism and edit wars, because of nationalism from all sides. I can not say it is an easy page to edit. You must also realize that articles about some obscure part of Japanese history or Japanese culture are probably more important than the front page of Japan, because the "unknowns" are what people look for in Wikipedia.
For instance, I was thinking of adding articles about old capitals and palaces of Japan. There is an article on Heijo Palace, I tried to start an article about Fujiwara-kyo, but there is currently very limited info on older capitals (Asuka, etc.), and I think it could be interesting to start an article describing the relationships and histories of all capitals (for instance, the relationship between Kamakura and Kyoto during the Kamakura Shogunate, etc.). Maybe an article called Capitals of Japan, including a History section, imperial capitals and political capitals could be interesting to work on ? Those are the kind of "facts" that are little known outside of Japan, and that I am sure would interest people. Tensaibuta 04:15, 15 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for advice. I think that Japan is included in the culture of China. (Kannji, rituryo, Chinese Buddhism, and Confucianism) It is true that the culture of China was imported by way of a Korean peninsula. However, it is unrelated to Korea. Edger is ardent to the article on Japan. However, self-importance him. The article on Tendai was deleted. He concluded worthless Tendai. However, they are events that are more important than Korea. (I can prove. The High-buddhist in most Japan trained with Tendai. Moreover, Tendai politically had big power in Japan. ) However, I do not want to fight. I part from the article on Japan for a while.
By the way, the ghost often relates to the reason for the movement of the capital of Japan. Is this episode suitable for the wikipedia? (For instance, to run away from younger brother's ghost "Sujin Tenno", the Kanmu emperor threw away the Nagaoka capital. Moreover, Edo was constructed based on Feng Shui.) --HaradaSanosuke 03:38, 17 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Yep, I think that kind of info would definitively find its place in Wikipedia !!! Tensaibuta 15:53, 17 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

HaradaSanosuke, a few questions to satisfy my curiosity, if you don't mind... Have you ever thought about why you find it so offensive that there is mention of Korean influence on early Japan? Why does it bother you so much? It is there something negative about it being Korean? I'm very curious to know... Most Western sources point to Korea playing a pivotal role in Japan's development as a civilization. I imagine your not acknowledging this could possibly be blamed on the Japanese education system though. I say this because I have found various faults in logic while talking with Japanese people about issues like ancient history, relations with Baekje, the Sino-Japanese War, WWII, etc.
By the way, I would like to kindly suggest that you re-examine your assumption that I am Korean and see that it is probably misguided and prejudiced. I have made a statement on this before and will not repeat it.--Sir Edgar 02:35, 20 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Racist comments

edit

Please do not refer to people as "Koreans" just because they disagree with you. That is ethnic labeling and is considered racist. This might be acceptable in Japan, but it is not tolerated at Wikipedia. You must refer to the text, not the people. What you are doing is considered not only extremely rude and inappropriate, but flat out wrong. Kindly refer to Wikipedia:Assume good faith, Wikipedia:Civility, and Wikipedia:No personal attacks for more information. This is your warning. Thank you.--Sir Edgar 23:01, 26 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sekicho 13:16, 27 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

--HaradaSanosuke 17:43, 27 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for support on Seven-Year War

edit

I'm glad someone takes the time to read what I wrote rather than just deleting it. Perhaps you'd like to offer a comment for what the name of the article should be. We're open to suggestions; I personally favor "Hideyoshi's campaigns," but there may be something better. Komdori 21:19, 21 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
