BIG MISTAKE. I had changed Walk off the Earths page and added "skin flute" to the instrument list of Gianni Luminati. He's the one with the braids and looks like he's pooping when he sings. I'm pretty sure I had it right. Thank you for your time.

Nashville Sessions

The reason I have removed that information from Nashville Sessions talk page is because that information that was there was unnecessary as I have recreated the page so it is no longer requested for deletion. I did not make a mistake. Thanks Flipflame (talk) 14:57, 2 February 2013 (UTC)

What you deleted has nothing to do with it being up for deletion, it's an 'archive record' box informing people about the AFD history of the article, so please don't delete it again. Thanks - Happysailor (Talk) 14:59, 2 February 2013 (UTC)

What you did was spam an external link at the very start of an article. RNLB Forester’s Centenary (ON 786) title

Hello Happysailor

I see you have been busy redirecting Lifeboats names to a standardises format, especially the RNLB boats. I think it may be worth the time for you to add a note to our project page to explain the format so that in future, Editors who wish to add articles about lifeboats are aware of this standard. I use myself as an example! until you changed Foresters’ Centenary’s title, I was unaware of the standard and was creating articles without the RNLB prefix. Thank you for your work.  stavros1  ♣  07:29, 28 February 2013 (UTC)

Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Active participants

I reverted your recent changes to Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Active participants as this page is trancluded into a couple of user talk pages. When you made it into a redirect, the entire page you redirected it to became trancluded, causing issues. If this page has lost its usefulness, then we can discuss it at WP:MfD and/or at WT:AFC. If there is a consensus to delete it, then we can delete it the proper way, by removing existing references to it first, then deleting it. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 20:43, 6 March 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the note, however it was redirected a year ago after discussion at AfC. See Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Articles_for_creation/2012_1#Proposal_to_delete_a_subpage - Happysailor (Talk) 22:32, 6 March 2013 (UTC)
Thanks. I was active in AfC years ago but have been out of the loop for awhile and missed that discussion. It was also boneheaded of me to say it was transcluded a lot when a quick check would've shown otherwise, and for that I apologize. I've alerted the one remaining affected user-page owner. If he doesn't change his archive within a few days, it may be best to put "noinclude" tags around most or all of Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation to prevent his archive from landing in categories that it doesn't belong in. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 03:31, 7 March 2013 (UTC)

Hi Happysailor, my article has been proded and I've been working on it in order to improve it and to address the comments it got from NawlinWiki. I've noticed you made some changes yesterday - could you, please, explain them to me (bear with me, I'm new to this) and, if you don't mind, could you give me some feedback on how to change/improve the article so that it loses the red message at the top of it. From NawlinWiki's comments - I've tried to make it more notable by adding more 3rd party references and took-out quite a significant amount of copy. Hi Happysailor
Thanks for your information regarding images. I was under the impression that if the author of images on flicker has not disabled the download feature of there image that it was OK to use the image on wikipedia by past agreement. This agreement worked as long as the image in question is fully linked and attributed to the original author, even if the image on flicker has All Rights Reserved. Am I incorrect about this?  stavros1  ♣  20:51, 19 March 2013 (UTC)

Atlantic 75 class lifeboat, Numbering

Hello Happysailor
I have noticed that one of the Atlantic 75 lifeboats that are included in the article Atlantic 75 class lifeboat has an Operation number that differs to the recorded number in the Sheringham Lifeboat Station Service records. RNLB Susan Peacock has the No. (B-701) listed in the service records which I retrieved from the Appendix 3: Service record in the book Sheringham Lifeboats by Nicholas Leach and Paul Russell. In the wikipedia article the Operation number is listed as (B-700). Which number is right, I wonder? The author’s of the book, I have found are usually reliable in there information, and as I understand take there information direct from the stations that they write about. I intend to check the service boards for myself in Sheringham Lifeboat station, hopefully over Easter. But I thought I check to see if you have other verifiable information regarding the numbering.  stavros1  ♣  20:01, 21 March 2013 (UTC)

Hi Stavros, here is a link to a picture showing B-700 in all her glory, with the name Susan Peacock clearly visible on the A-frame. I'd take that as definate proof on the Op No. and name   - Happysailor (Talk) 23:50, 21 March 2013 (UTC)

Article not Approved, but Why?

I got notification that you did not accept my article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Theodosios_Alexander) as there appeared to be copyright violations.

I spoke with the help desk people who stated that if the message: "Creative Commons Disclaimer: The text of this webpage is available for modification and reuse under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-Sharealike 3.0 Unported License and the GNU Free Documentation License (unversioned, with no invariant sections, front-cover texts, or back-cover texts)" was posted on the page where the original content was used from, there would be no violations. I even emailed a declaration of consent to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org with all the necessary information on it. This is the page where we followed the steps very closely: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Declaration_of_consent_for_all_enquiries

Since we had done all this, I would like to know why this article was still declined due to copyright violation, since there was permission granted.

Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 165.134.26.61 (talk) 21:43, 23 April 2013 (UTC)

AFC attack pages

I noticed that you declined Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/James Woodland and posted {{Afc decline}} on User talk:Boningwoodysmum. This template says "Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia!", but this was a blatant attack page, as the user's name pretty much would indicate. I don't think thanking a user for submitting an attack page is appropriate. Rather than using that decline template for AFCs like this, I would suggest warning the user about creating an attack page, and linking the AFC. You might also want to report a username like this at WP:UAA. Thanks for your time. INeverCry 04:46, 27 April 2013 (UTC)

Hi, while I agree with you that we shouldn't be thanking a user for submitting an attack page, the template in question is automatically posted to the users talk page as a standard decline template if notify user is checked.
I will bring this up with mabdul and see if we can maybe use a tailored decline template for submissions that are blp violations/attack pages.

Speedy deletion nomination of User:MinecraftDman

I dont get why you deleted my article when there is a simular style article with broadcasting called Yogscast.

Okay, this is popularity isn't a reason, might I ask why SO MANY other Youtubers have a Wikipedia Page? Or Models, Actors and the like? Models don't MAKE clothing, actors don't MAKE movies, there is no reason whatsoever, on why they have a Wikipedia page. My theory is that they pay Wikipedia to be on here, but I can't prove that. Furthermore, if MinecraftDman can't have a Wikipedia page, then why can I have a mention somewhere? Even if it is completely false? MY name has been on here for 2,5 years. With false information, no source and no description at all. It's just there, somewhere on Wikipedia, placed there as a joke, by a friend. Now that is something that shouldn't be here. And here what I wrote earlier: "This page should not be speedy deleted because... First of all, if this isn't 'important' or 'significant' then why are there actors on Wikipedia? What have they done that makes them deserve a page, even if all they have done is being featured in ONE episode of ONE show? And what about other internet 'celebrities'? Totalbiscuit has a page, Huskystarcraft and HDstarcraft hava pages, Smosh has a page, RayWilliamJohnson, Yogscast has a page, and countless more have them. Why are THEY ALLOWED to have one,and MinecraftDman not? Pretty soon (probably within a month), they'll enter the top 100 most subscribed channel on YouTube, if that doesn't warrant a page, then what does? They have arguably helped in the sales of the game Minecraft and Magicka enormously, thanks to their popularity (which is still growing, as evidenced by the fact that their subscriber count on Youtube has risen by 2,000 since yesterday). Not to mention the fact that I myself bought Magicka because I saw them having so much fun. Other then that, they do charity events at times, which by itself should also be enough of a reason. Exactly what reason do YOU (the person who tagged this for speedy deletion) have, to remove this? On a final note, this page isn't complete yet and its my first wiki article, so im asking please let me have my first article? Since the only content on the page is what you just posted above, there is no evidence of notability, as well as no other content or references. You may have deleted the content of the page in a previous edit, but at present, the decline is correct. Why was my article not accepted for submission?

My article was not accepted for submission. The article complied with the various specifications of Wikipedia and was properly cited. If, however, you disagree, how can I make the article better so as to more properly comply with whatever qualifications are necessary to have my article posted to Wikipedia. Your expedient reply is greatly appreciated. SD2013 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sd2013 (talkcontribs) 21:27, 26 April 2013 (UTC)

If the article was never reviewed by an editor, then why is there a message saying my article was reviewed and was declined? If this is not the case and the article is merely pending review, that is fine, but if not, how can I distinguish whether the message on my talk page is regarding my username?
Thank you very much. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sd2013 (talkcontribs) 00:16, 30 April 2013 (UTC)

Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Michael Cavayero

Hi Happysailor,

I would like to point out that there are several independent, published sources that mention the subject of the article. One included is the conference report, http://www.re-tooling-residencies.org/conference-report, which gives a detailed description of the artist's performance which was used to open the event and the author of the report uses this performance and description to contextualize the entire report. second is a local published newspaper article regarding a current exhibition of the artist. http://www.mybergen.com/bergen-county-nj-entertainment-bergen-county-live-music-plays-concerts-comedy/gallery-show-features.

Also there is no advertising meant by this article. It is simply a description of a obscure artist with certain notoriety however remains to have limited known art historical significance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Michaelcavayero (talkcontribs) 17:42, 2 May 2013 (UTC)

Whether or not there are references (which is not what the article was declined for) the article itself is over-promotional in it's tone and layout. All articles need to be written from a neutral point of view and the large amount of images and external links in the article make it appear more like an advert than an encyclopedic article.
The tone of the submission needs to be more neutral, with no external links in the prose of the article, and i reckon removal of about 90% of the images (the rest can be linked to using the {{commonscat}} link. - Happysailor (Talk) 18:53, 2 May 2013 (UTC)

  • You listed Wikipedia_talk:Articles for creation/ZYCUS for deletion, giving the reason "an un-needed talk page of active submission - old comment from reviewer moved to submission page using newer comment template}" I think you probably meant that,as an earlier version of the later Wikipedia:Articles for creation/ZYCUS, it needed to be deleted in order to move the new version to the proper place, in Wikipedia Talk space. Anyway, that's what I did. The talk space is the more appropriate place for this. But it was confusing to call it an un-needed talk page. DGG ( talk ) 17:22, 7 May 2013 (UTC)

Hello. Thanks for steering my entry into "articles for creation."

I must admit to being somewhat baffled by the proper location for submissions. Since you have moved it here, does this mean it is now in the proper place for consideration? Or should I move it again?

Also, will this shift from one location to another have an effect on my place in the submissions queue? Specifically, am I now starting over?

Any advice will be much appreciated. And thanks for helping this along.

All best,

The decline reason says it all, you need to prove that it is notable by using reliable sources that are independent of the subject. Once you've added them to your submission, you can resubmit it by adding {{subst:submit}} to the top of the page and it will then b e reviewed again. - Happysailor (Talk) 17:39, 31 May 2013 (UTC)

CollectPlus

Hi there,

Thank you for reviewing the page. Could you offer some extra advice and tips on editing the article? Which points in particular are resulting in the submission being declined?

Kindest regards,

Daniel — Preceding unsigned comment added by Redconsult123 (talkcontribs) 12:33, 31 May 2013 (UTC)

Your submission reads like an advertisement. you need to use a neutral tone and also prove that what your writing about is notable using reliable independent sources - Happysailor (Talk) 17:43, 31 May 2013 (UTC)

AFCH and redirects

Hi Happysailor, I noticed you still seem to be able to use WP:AFCH to review redirect and category requests, when it seems not to work for other users. Are you using a special version of the script? Pol430 talk to me 18:03, 14 June 2013 (UTC)

I'm using v.4.1.15 that is in my own .js file, ever since the issue with the script freezing on article submissions. - Happysailor (Talk) 18:27, 14 June 2013 (UTC)
Well I guess that answers that question... Since you seem to be the only one currently able to reliably answer these submissions, You should know firsthand that I've made a couple modifications to the preload templates to make it easier to review them and hopefully get better submissions coming in. You can review the changes to Template:AfC editintro/category and Template:AfC_preload/category and please let me know if this causes any issues with the AFCH so I can make any needed adjustments. Thanks. Technical 13 (talk) 18:41, 17 June 2013 (UTC)

McCabe Software Article

Hello:

I submitted an article for McCabe Software for review. It was rejected by you as it reads like an advertisement but with no further information. I followed all guidelines and mimicked similiar Wiki Articles. I also specifically did not provide any marketing references within the Article. I mirrored mine after already approved Wiki Articles such as that of Klocwork and Parasoft. Can you provide some additional detail or recommendations so that I may comply better with the referenced reason it was declined? Thank you in advance! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cmminera (talkcontribs) 19:00, 21 June 2013 (UTC)

The tone of the article made it sound more like an advertisement for the company rather than an encyclopedic article. Once you've corrected that etc, then you can resubmit. - Happysailor (Talk) 23:02, 24 June 2013 (UTC)

Clayton, California category submission

I submitted a new category for review. It was rejected by you because you said it did not have enough need. Here is a link that supports the need for a Clayton, California category: List of Wikipedia articles that link to Clayton, CaliforniaCheckingfax (talk) 22:44, 24 June 2013 (UTC)

That doesn't prove that there is a need for that category, just that there are articles that link to that article. - Happysailor (Talk) 22:57, 24 June 2013 (UTC)

AFCH

I hope you don't mind, but I've installed the old version of the AFC script from your custom JS page? Bored of doing manual redirect reviews... Just thought I'd mention it as a courtesy. Pol430 talk to me 19:20, 28 June 2013 (UTC)

no worries, that's ok - Happysailor (Talk) 21:41, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
