Speedy deletion nomination of Len Steckler

A tag has been placed on Len Steckler requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Copyright problems with Len Steckler

Len Steckler

I deleted your recent article because it had numerous problems

• It was substantially copied from here, which does not state that its text is public domain, so is assumed to be copyright. In fact it is tagged © Len Steckler 2010

• If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

• If you have permission from the author leave a message explaining the details on the article's talk page and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
• If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at the talk page with a link to where we can find that note.
• If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on the article talk page.
• Alternatively, you may create a note on your web page releasing the work under the GFDL and then leave a note at the article talk page with a link to the web page details.
• Otherwise, you are encouraged to rewrite this article in your own words to avoid any copyright infringement. • It did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts or show that it meets the notability guidelines. It is now Wikipedia policy that biographical articles about living people must have independent references. There were no independent references; indeed even the partisan site you copied from wasn't acknowledged

• Even if the text had not been copyright, it still wasn't a neutral encyclopaedia article, it was pure spam, with lots of unsourced spammy claims. Currently in his 80’s Steckler is still providing the art world with photographs and paintings and he intends to do so just as long as there is a world that is still turning full of beautiful subjects still waiting to be discovered. What has that got to do with an encyclopaedia?

• Please ask your colleague not to remove speedy deletion notices, bad faith edits will be reverted.

The Visit

• Copied from here clearly marked as copyright, see above for what to do.

• Again, no neutral sources. Although you give two links, one is just a commercial sales site, the other is an interview with Steckler, hardly an independent source

• Did you read what you copied? The whole style, especially the first para of The Images is spammy purple prose, with no place in an encyclopaedia — The images are candid, the smiles and touches between the two subjects are very real. If it were not for the artistic eye of Steckler they may have just appeared as simple snap shots. But the two stars are in full focus and each touching moment between them captured with tender hands... (yuk)

• Then we get to the sales pitch — for the public to see and to own... Eagle National Mint and they continue to be the only authorized dealer for the collection... Visit Series images provided by Eagle National Mint

• Please ask your colleague not to remove speedy deletion notices, bad faith edits will be reverted.
