License tagging for File:Ashante PT Stokes MCU profile photo.jpg

  Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 16:19, 8 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

A tag has been placed on Salvation RMX (PT the Gospel Spitter music mini-film and song) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a musical recording which does not indicate why its subject is important or significant, and where the artist's article has never existed, has been deleted or is eligible for deletion itself. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for music.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. —C.Fred (talk) 03:56, 20 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Ashante PT Stokes MCU profile photo.jpg

edit

A tag has been placed on File:Ashante PT Stokes MCU profile photo.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted content borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

— JJMC89(T·C) 19:28, 22 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:PT and Maria at Spring Fling3.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:PT and Maria at Spring Fling3.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — JJMC89(T·C) 19:34, 22 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Hamilton ford. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. — JJMC89(T·C) 20:19, 22 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Removing tags

edit

You've removed "citation needed" tags from the Ashante P.T. Stokes article without providing the needed citation. What you risk is that the entire un-referenced section will be deleted, which is what policy allows. It is to your advantage to leave the tag, because it shows other editors that the problem has been acknowledged and there is an effort to correct it. Also, Mashpedia, like Wikipedia, is not an allowed reference, so it must be replaced with a better source. The tags are not punitive - they help improve the article. And speaking of improving the article, I replaced the references using IMDb (another source that is not allowed as a reference) with the notices on the actual awards site. This is an example of the kind of improvement that brings the article closer to the desired WP quality. Please look for sources that can replace Mashpedia, and also for sources that fill in where there are none. Thanks, LaMona (talk) 15:23, 28 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

LaMona, I saw where some entries do not cite ever line in the introduction but do so in the various section. One citation needed tag was removed but the corresponding information, the birth date, was removed from the text. The second tag was removed because it is cited when displayed in one of the sections below. I don't think the bot software does the citation tags based on "echoed" or "linked" text from the introduction to the specific subsections. If that is incorrect or if we have to live by the restrictions of the software, please let me knowHamilton ford (talk) 18:10, 28 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Please respond regarding Conflict of Interest

edit

It is necessary for you to respond to the question about conflict of interest in relation to the articles Ashante P.T. Stokes and Draft:Salvation RMX (PT the Gospel Spitter music mini-film and song). This is required by WP policy, and your account could be blocked if policy is not followed. You may reply here and/or at the conflict of interest noticeboard, linked above. The purpose of the policy is not to prevent anyone from editing, but to provide transparency for other editors who may edit the same articles. It also requires that interested editors refrain from direct editing of articles in Wikipedia (but not those in draft) so that their work can be "peer reviewed" to avoid bias. The integrity of Wikipedia depends on articles being factual and neutral, and this is one of the ways that we work to assure that. Thank you, LaMona (talk) 15:59, 1 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Notice of paid work relating to Wikipedia
I am employed at Serving the Peace where I work with a variety of clients. PT The Gospel Spitter has a relationship with Serving the Peace.

Hamilton ford (talk) 01:56, 2 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Thank you, Hamilton ford. The next step is to place the appropriate disclosure on the talk page of the article itself, using the template given here: Wikipedia:Paid-contribution_disclosure#How_to_disclose. Being a paid editor, however, means that you must cease any direct editing of the article (other than minor edits like punctuation or spelling). Instead, you can add a request on the talk page of the article that edits be done by others. When you propose content changes on the article talk page, use the {{request edit}} template. This will be the same for any other clients who have Wikipedia pages. If you wish to create new pages, you can do so through the draft process (which you also used here), but please declare your interest on those talk pages as well, because it helps reviewers know how to advise about needed changes. And thank you for respecting the integrity of Wikipedia! LaMona (talk) 15:21, 2 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
