Chauvet Lighting is an award winning manufacturer of lighting products for the entertainment industry. Based in Hollywood, FL, Chauvet produces professional moving yokes, scanners, wash lights and controllers which can be controlled via DMX, also called intelligent lighting. These products are commonly used in bars, clubs, and production. CHAUVET brand products were on display in 2008 lighting the stadium of the Miami Dolphins to celebrate the Holiday season . Recently, Chauvet has developed new LED technologies, which it has used to maintain a range of DJ effect lights as well as production pieces. Its Colorado series of IP rated, intelligent LED fixtures have been used in a variety of extreme environments such as the Alaska Arts Festival where the fixtures were actually buried in ice for over a month.

Chauvet Lighting is a family owned company. Albert Chauvet is Chief Executive Officer and President of the Company, and his wife, Berenice Chauvet, is the company's Vice President. While Chauvet is headquartered in the US, it maintains over 3,000 distributors worldwide who market and sell its products abroad. Domestically, Chauvet employs the services of over 32 rep firms and has an extensive network of local and online distributors.

History
Chauvet started in the late 80's, evolving rapidly from an OEM developer of mobile DJ and beacon lights based in Florida, to one of the most recognized brands in entertainment lighting worldwide. When it was first established, Chauvet mainly sold rope lights, novelties, and simple plug and play effect lights. In the early 1990's, founder Albert Chauvet made the decision to create his own brand, CHAUVET, and bring on a staff of experienced mobile DJs and lighting designers who helped transform what was a small, local company into a dynamic global outfit. CHAUVET began it expansion by offering DMX controlled effect lights to mobile DJs. With the launch of the Legend and Q series, CHAUVET made a push to enter the club and permanent install markets. Most recently, CHAUVET has begun to move into the production and theater markets with high end LED and moving head products. The company currently produces products aimed at all these segments of the entertainment industry as well as a line of architectural lights.

Chauvet manufactures most of its fixtures in Asian factories. While production goes on in Asia, all product development is done at Chauvet's Hollywood, FL, facility. Quality control is done twice: once at the factories in Asia and yet again when the products reach Chauvet's headquarters. Chauvet's research and development team is also based in Florida.

Awards
Today, Chauvet offers a wide range of intelligent lighting solutions and has developed a series of innovative products that have won numerous industry awards. In 2008, CHAUVET took home the DJ Zone Crystal Disc Award for the COLORstrip™ , the MSR Dealer Choice Award for the Vue™ III and the Club World Award for Best Effect for the élan™ Its booth at LDI 2007, which was almost entirely lit by LED fixtures, won the distinction Best Big Booth.

LED technology
On May 7,2007, Chauvet announced that it had entered into a global licensing agreement with Philips (formerly Color Kinetics). This agreement grants Chauvet full access to Philips' extensive LED patent portfolio. Recognizing that LED's are the light source of the future, Chauvet has made extensive use of this patent portfolio to create a broad range of professional LED products. VP Berenice Chauvet noted that the decision to turn to LED's as the company's primary light source was not only due to the longer lamp life but also based on a commitment to "Green Thinking."

Warranty and Customer Support
Chauvet provides a 24-month limited warranty on all DMX512-A products, a 12-month limited warranty on Special Effect fixtures and controllers, and a 3-month limited warranty on items with an "NV" prefix. Your warranty period begins from your date of purchase. It is important to note that this warranty applies only in the 48 contiguous of the US.
