Speedy deletion nomination of Mistserver

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Mistserver, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Dewritech (talk) 17:03, 19 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Userfication

edit

Hi HacateKentu. I've userfied your article for you - you can find it at User:HacateKentu/Mistserver. In terms of improvement, I would suggest you make the prose less promotional, and look for reliable sources which will establish notability. You need to find sources that are independent from the subject of the article and are reliable - this should give you an idea of what you need. If you need any help, just let me know. MistServer

edit

Hi HacateKentu, thanks for your message. I've taken a look at your improvements - you've made a good start, but there's still a bit to do. The first two paragraphs are still very promotional (I see you haven't edited them at all) - you will need to rewrite that bit to make it more neutral. Specifically, it is sentences like "lightweight, open-source multi-standard multimedia server developed by DDVTECH" and "It bridges the gap between lightweight web servers and the usually heavyweight media servers that support non-HTTP protocols" which sound like extracts from an advertisement. See if you can just describe what the product is, rather than writing about why it's any good. Also, the sources you added all seem to be dead links, which is a slight concern - see if you can fix those. I can take a look at it and make a few edits if you like, but I won't be able to do so very soon. Let me know if you have any further questions.
