Notability of Orchestra of the muted candy edit

A tag has been placed on Orchestra of the muted candy, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Philippe Beaudette 22:22, 6 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Speedy Delete Tags edit

Please DO NOT remove Speedy Delete tags from articles that you create. To do so is a Conflict of Interest, since you created the article. Luckily, Wikipedia requires an administrator to look at the article before it is deleted, and there are instructions for how to contest the speedy deletion in the tag at the top of the page. If you don't understand about contributing effectively to Wikipedia then I suggest that you read the articles linked from the help pages, specifically relating to writing and editing good articles. Welcome to WikiProject Baseball edit

File:Baseball (ball) closeup.jpg

Hi, and welcome to the Baseball Wikiproject! We are a group of editors who love the sport of baseball and work to improve Wikipedia's coverage of this sport.

There are a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:

If you have any ideas you would like to share or if there is any way your fellow baseball editors can help you, please feel free to ask on the project talk page.

Your recent edit to Yugoslavia edit

Please see this page; it talks about the guidelines regarding national spelling variations in English. The "u" in the word favour is correct in British English. Consistency within an article is the desired aim. Thanks, Figma 23:58, 16 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Rock music Wikiproject invitation edit

Hello WikiProject Metal member.
WikiProject Metal music is important in expanding encyclopedic coverage of the metal. It brings attention to the lesser-known bands, and significantly improves the quality of the famous ones. Five Featured articles and two formers is proof of that.
This is the stuff I wish to achieve with the somewhat recently resurrected WikiProject Rock music. I hope to also attract attention to rock music articles of all sorts, and hopefully change some to GA or FA status. I invite you to come join us, and embrace the links between metal and rock music in general.
Rock on.

Thanks for signing, man! Protect Tomato Rights!(sign the petition!)

A tag has been placed on TetraFin, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group or service and which would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Border Code edit

In reply to this comment...

Ehh... I'd love to help, but we cannot use the images you provided. Those images are on Wikipedia under a fair use rationale, meaning they can only be used in very specific circumstances on the articles directly referring to those topics. As such, they are strictly forbidden anywhere else, particularly on user pages. If you have a different image that is in the public domain or uses an approved free license, then that would be acceptable. I will work on the code and let you know when I've got something. Any color preference? Hersfold (talk/work) 21:36, 3 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Nevermind, I'm not going to make a template Ootmc Signme!Complaints Dept. 23:47, 3 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ok, if you change your mind, I've got some boxes set up on my sandbox, here that should be close to what you were looking for. Let me know if you regain interest, they'll probably be up for some time. :-) Hersfold (talk/work) 01:57, 4 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Lots of stuff edit

  1. Fair use images are not allowed out of mainspace, like you did here. This is a violation of Wikipedia:Fair use criteria and possibly united states copyright law.
  2. You should contribute more to the encyclopedia. Only 9.54% of your edits are actually to articles, whereas 64.14% of your edits are to user and usertalk namespaces.
  3. If your signature is still what it was above, you need to change it immidiately. It violates WP:SIG, as it full of totally unnecessary bright colours, and makes no reference to your username. Signatures are for identifcation only.

--Deskana (ya rly) 01:44, 3 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

I didn't really understand the award, other than you approve of my hard work. You might want to give people one of these or these, or make a new one, but please, no fair use images. See you later! ;-) A•N•N•A hi! 02:17, 3 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hold on. Number 3 says I have to change my signature. I changed the colors, but can't I keep the words? Wikipedia: Changing Username states:

As an alternative, please consider changing your signature. This will change your "public appearance" on talk pages and other places where you sign your username with ~~~~.

That doesn't apply if you've not changed username. --Deskana (ya rly) 20:54, 4 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
I see you've applied to get your username changed. The request will be denied, as that user has edits. We cannot change your username if the new username exists and has edits. And what's wrong with having a signature that's just your username, and possibly an obvious link to your talk page? --Deskana (ya rly) 20:57, 4 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ootmc is a random collaboration of letters I randomly picked. I'm applying for a newer new username. Ootmc Signme!Complaints Dept. 20:59, 4 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

I read your request, and as I said, it will be denied, per what I said above. You should choose a new username and alter the request. --Deskana (ya rly) 21:00, 4 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

how do you link to something that doesn't share the same name as what you are using as a link? ex. If I wanted to make a link to Reciprocal link, could I do the [[]]thing around links? If so, how? Ootmc 21:39, 12 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

You pipe the link. for example if you wanted to link the word Navy to the United States Navy article you would add [[United States Navy|Navy]] and you would get this -> Navy hope that helps.Cheers — WilsBadKarma (Talk) 21:44, 12 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Where is the button on the keyboard that you put between the pipe thing and what your link will be? I may be just dumb, but where is it?

uh, can I delete stuff off this page as I please, or do i have to keep it all? Wikizilla Signme!Complaints Dept.

You can delete it if you want, but sometimes it's better to archive it. You can have a bot do it. I recommend MiszaBot III. --TeckWiz ParlateContribs@ 01:11, 2 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

What should i write at the top of this page for a bot? I'm not good at tech stuff. Wikizilla Signme!Complaints Dept. 01:16, 2 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Do you want it archived by month, year, or number? (no need to keep posting a helpme. I'm here and will know when you respond). --TeckWiz ParlateContribs@ 01:19, 2 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

It'd be cool to have this thing cleaned up every month, if that's what you mean. Wikizilla Signme!Complaints Dept. 01:20, 2 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

That's not what I mean. That would mean that your archived would be named by month, year, or number. Topics would be archived to the appropriate archive after having been x days old. (probably 5 or 6). --TeckWiz ParlateContribs@ 01:30, 2 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

ok, month. Wikizilla Signme!Complaints Dept. 01:31, 2 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

After how many days do you want old topics to be archived? I recommend 7 days. --TeckWiz ParlateContribs@ 01:36, 2 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sure, seven sounds good. Wikizilla Signme!Complaints Dept. 01:37, 2 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Okay. Give me about 10 minutes to get the appropriate code. --TeckWiz ParlateContribs@ 01:38, 2 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Actually, I think a year archive would be good for you, as you're only averaging about 2 topics a month. My first year I used a year archive for all of 2006 and it was fine. Now I use month archives because I'm more active. Should I set it up for a year archive instead? --TeckWiz ParlateContribs@ 01:40, 2 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sure, that sounds fine. Wikizilla Signme!Complaints Dept. 01:44, 2 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Do you want it to be at User talk:Ootmc/Archive/2007 ? If so, I will place the template at the top when you confirm this. --TeckWiz ParlateContribs@ 01:47, 2 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

That's where it'll be? "User talk:Ootmc/Archive/2007"? If it will be, sure.

Okay. All set up! Just wait for MiszaBot to run (sometime in the next 24 hours) and all messages older than 7 days will be archived. When it turns to 2008, the bot will automatically archive to a new archive titled 2008 and the notice at the top of the page will change automatically. --TeckWiz ParlateContribs@ 01:54, 2 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
