Username concern
editWelcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "HTownDynamo", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it may be a promotional username. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing this form, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. -- Longhair\talk 23:25, 31 May 2018 (UTC)
- I don't see the issue with the name. I have seen other people with similar names. The guideline says it can't only be a team name, which its not. HTownDynamo (talk) 01:24, 1 June 2018 (UTC)
National varieties of English
editHello. In a recent edit to the page Giles Barnes, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.
For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, India, or Pakistan use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the original author of the article used.
In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. Thank you. Walter Görlitz (talk) 04:43, 14 July 2018 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for November 12
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Tomás Martínez (footballer), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Designated player (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

The article Erik McCue has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Footballer who hasn't played in fully-pro league or for NT, also fails GNG.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. BlameRuiner (talk) 12:10, 20 November 2018 (UTC)

editYou should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.
If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the bottom of your talk page.
You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text
{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.
Thank you. 331dot (talk) 07:51, 13 January 2019 (UTC)Note that according to our own article on H-Town, "H-Town" stands for Houston, meaning your name is "Houston Dynamo", which is not permitted as it is the name of an organization. I'm guessing from your edits that you don't represent the team, but you will need to choose a new name. Even just adding "fan" to your name would make it acceptable. 331dot (talk) 07:53, 13 January 2019 (UTC)
As you have had your name changed, I removed the block. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 10:34, 14 January 2019 (UTC)

editThank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Michael Salazar, as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. Greyjoy talk 21:44, 15 November 2021 (UTC)
