Biographical page

Hello In the biographical page of Marianela Salazar Guillen (panamá) Señorita Panamá Hispanidad 1999 I add the links that I announced to contribute to the site was not cleared, the add much before 29 November this year, but although the links have been added achievement was deleted. In any case you need to know ask for the page is revived again and do not miss the information that is contained therein. Thank you. - Evanex (talk) 23:33, 29 November 2010 (UTC)

I'm sorry, I don't understand your message. What do you want my help with? HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 15:15, 30 November 2010 (UTC)

In a biography of the beauty queen Marianela Salazar note that you remove the 29th of November, I add the links that were required for this were not deleted. since I had added the links before 29 need to know that was removed. Thank you. - Evanex (talk) 23:56, 30 November 2010 (UTC)

MichaelPalinforPM

I notice you've blocked this chap for a username violation. Did you not see my note at UAA. You should know as well as I that 'x for PM/Pope/Queen etc is an expression of general approval - not only has Palin never run for political office, he's not been active on behalf of any political party. Further, there are no full parliamentary elections for four years. Also you've deleted his userpage, which contained a picture of a can of spam. Not an advert for Spam but, given that the editor wanted to add to the entry for the Spam sketch, plainly a joke. Not such a good block in my opinion, of someone who may have turned out to be a useful editor (may not of course). --Elen of the Roads (talk) 11:49, 30 November 2010 (UTC)

Can I get you a coffee? LOL. I agree about the probably not-so-good block. Of course, if they had started actively editing/creating articles about Palin running for PM in 4 years, it might be a little different ... (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 12:24, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
Thanks! I re-read it and thought "Yikes!" I did not intend to sound like that. Elen of the Roads (talk) 12:49, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
I get the impression it was probably just a throwaway account to make a few "hilarious" Monty Python spam references, although I do agree the spam username block was probably the wrong type. I probably wouldn't have shied away from a vandalism-only account block, though, so I doubt there's an immense problem here! ~ mazca talk 12:25, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
Trouble is, the addition to the Spam song article would have been OK if it wasn't for copyright, so I don't think it was vandalism. Adding it to the article on Spam the yukky pink stuff was not beneficial. I couldn't tell at that point whether the user was just a throwaway, or was going to go on to make sensible contributions to Monty Python related articles in the future. I'd have waited until he either responded to my note or edited again. Elen of the Roads (talk) 12:49, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
Ouch. In hindsight, the spamblock was definitely OTT. I would still say that the username is inappropriate as an encyclopaedia is not the place to make political statements, but it looks like I was a bit trigger happy there. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 15:12, 30 November 2010 (UTC)

One of those nonsense articles...

... while you declined speedy, there are others who agree that it doesn't make sense (incoherent), and my claim of advertising is that the article exists simply to gain attention for something. That's an advertisement. Anyway, you can comment on the AfD if you wish: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The net and Multiple RealitiesTimneu22 · talk 14:31, 30 November 2010 (UTC)

G1 doesn't apply to bad writing, it's for total crap. "kljsvhlijsadnhfvlkjsadn" would be nonsense for CSD purposes. I'm sorry (I would like to speedy it), but it doesn't meet any criterion as far as I can see. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 14:47, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
Timneu22, that's not nonsense. I could even add references for it. Just because something is written in jargon doesn't mean its nonsense. It may even be kept at AfD if someone cleans it up, although I think it's probably too much of a fringe idea. Still, if someone turns it into an article about the author, it's probably keepable.--Elen of the Roads (talk) 15:44, 30 November 2010 (UTC)

Plasticine revert

While I disagree with this user about the image, its quality and its use in the article, there appears to be no justification to using Huggle to revert the Plasticine article. We should be discussing this issue at the article's talk page, not just reverting (myself included). Alansohn (talk) 18:49, 30 November 2010 (UTC)

Need some translation help

I call this "translation help" cause I am needing to translate British English into American English. User:Hassocks5489 is working on a spoken word version of Stephens City, Virginia and asked about the pronunciation of a term (see here). I think I did my best, but I thought I would have an actual Brit look over my pronunciations. Thanks...NeutralhomerTalk • 20:46, 30 November 2010 (UTC)

I don't think the pronunciation changes too much between varieties (though, in my experience, most people this side of the pond pronounce the city as "bol-tim-ore" not "amore" [pronouncing the "i"]). HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 20:58, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
Okie Dokie. Looks good, I made the "bol-tim-ore" change. If you see anymore, let me know or if you have time, give the article a once-over and see if there are any words that Hassocks might get hung up on with the Brit/US translation. Just want to make sure the spoken word version good smoothly. :) Take Care...NeutralhomerTalk • 21:19, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
The trouble is that you Yanks tend to put emphasis in different places. Brit accents are tricky. The difference between the north and south of England is easily as profound as the difference between an accent from Texas and one from, say New York. "Research" is a great example—most Americans would put the emphasis on the "e" (correct me if I'm wrong) as in research, whereas I would say research (and the "e" is pronounced as if it were spelt "risearch", but I'm a Northener). "I" sounds are also tricky—depending on where you're from, "time", for example, can become "tam" or "tarm" and it gets trickier the further north or south you go! The other issues would probably be American words that don't appear in BrEng, like "nappy" vs "diaper", "lorry" vs "truck" and, one of my personal favourites, "courgette" vs "zucchini". ;) HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 21:40, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
Most, I think, won't be a problem, cause I took great care to have "Universial English" on the article, so there would be no issue with mispronounced words, but I always make sure, especially with a spoken version with the differences in speech. I personally don't think there will be any problem with the spoken version, but want to make sure just in case. Thanks for your help, it is always appreciated. :) - NeutralhomerTalk • 23:55, 30 November 2010 (UTC)

Queen Vic Fire Week

Hello HJ!

I thought I'd pick your brains about this :)

I was thinking of nominating Queen Vic Fire Week for DYK. The article was created over 5 days ago, but was only moved into mainspace in the last day or so. If it's moved into mainspace within the last 5 days would it qualify as DYK? --5 albert square (talk) 00:09, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

Yes. It's considered "new" for DYK purposes for 5 days after it was moved into mainspace and it easily meets the minimum length. Come up with an interesting hook and nominate away! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 00:13, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

Block of Cocomonkilla

I think this block borders on failure to assumption good faith. Yvesnimmo made no attempt to inform Coco that plies was a redirect to ply. Taemyr (talk) 08:31, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

If I hadn't assumed good faith, I would have indef'd them. They were left multiple requests to stop and discuss and their repeated removal of content without even an edit summary became disruptive enough that a short block was the only way to stop it. I request the your restore my privileges to use twinkle and rollback. The consensus at the discussion I started at Talk:Waivers (NHL) overwhelmingly (unanimously) supports my action to protect this page from Alaney2k's good faith, but nonconstructive edits. I have used these tools sparingly in the past, and have found it useful when giving friendly warnings to anons who post unreferenced information. Thank you for your consideration. I'm scared you'll block me forever for being too young to edit Wikipedia so I'm keeping my age secret. Please help the discussion. I am currently on a 1 year Wikibreak because I'm scared to look at my own talk page. Please help and I'll check back my page tomorrow and decide weather to carry on editing for the next year. For the semi-protection, it is difficult to get through to this editor. Surprisingly Ronda2001 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) did not evade the one week block after his first attempt at block evasion, he did immediately revert back to his version with his first edit back. Could you possibly warn him about the discretionary sanctions in the ARBPIA case please? I am assuming that he will not be reverting more than once per 24 hours, but if he continues to make the edit every day and a bit (or greater) there does not seem to be any actionable remedy I could take to arbitration enforcement unless he has been warned of discretionary sanctions. Thank you. O Fenian (talk) 20:12, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

No problem on the semi. I'm glad Ronda didn't evade their block again. I've left them the template and logged it in case there are future problems that need to go to AE. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 20:30, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

Hello

I call your attention to this exchange where I offer conciliatory gestures, attempt to resolve disputes amicably and even voluntarily restrict myself to 1rr so that I won't have any tactical advantage against someone who harbors different views. If you still think I was "going after his throat" and gaming, do as you please. PS, I'm sorry for posting here but I wanted to make sure you saw it.--Jiujitsuguy (talk) 21:05, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

And just one more thing. He was blocked 8 or 9 times and has been subjected to numerous topic bans, article bans, interaction bans and revert restrictions. I was blocked just 3 times with no topic bans or other restrictions. I think that concepts of progressive discipline should be the metric when deciding to impose sanctions. I'll not bother you further. Best--Jiujitsuguy (talk) 21:19, 3 December 2010 (UTC)
Why is it that whenever you and I interact, it always revolves around ARBPIA, my friend? That was an admirable move on your part, I have to say. My issue (or rather the issue currently under discussion at AE) is the manner in which you seem to have made the edit that you're seeking sanctions against Nableezy for reverting. From where I (and, it seems a couple of other admins) are sitting, it looks like you deliberately waited until Nableezy was prohibited by the 1RR from reverting your edit to make it, which would be an attempt to game the system and to use AE as a means to eliminate an opponent from a content dispute. Regardless of whether or not that's what you intended, you have to see that that's how it looks from the point of view of an uninvolved admin. If the timing was pure coincidence, then I would suggest you say that at AE and, if the consensus is to give you the benefit of the doubt (I would be inclined to if you say it was a coincidence, but others might not), you might not get as severe-a-sanction, but I do see some sort of restriction heading both your way and Nableezy's way. AE seems to be taking an increasingly hard line on ARBPIA, I would think because we're all sick of the daily tendentiousness and bloody-mindedness. I've nothing against you and Nableezy, you both seem decent guys, but you don't half seem to rub each other up the wrong way!
As for your last point, for transparency reasons, it's better if we keep that kind of discussion on WP:AE. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 21:24, 3 December 2010 (UTC)
I'm not that sophisticated that I would conjure up something like that, "waiting for an opponent to make a revert so I can make one." My mind doesn't go in that direction. I'll try to post at AE but I'm afraid it will get lost in the multitude of yapping--Jiujitsuguy (talk) 21:28, 3 December 2010 (UTC)
Well I'll take your word for it, per AGF and since nobody has provided a diff to show that this is typical of you. I'll make a note in the uninvolved admins' section to say that you say the timing was a coincidence. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 21:32, 3 December 2010 (UTC)
HJ, I think the issue here goes well beyond the one revert. I've posted an explanation in this edit to AE. --Mkativerata (talk) 21:44, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

AE on Gilabrand

Hi, I'd like to let you know that a few similar AE on other users were closed after users reverted themselves. Please see here for example. Gila does not edit on weekends. Could you please wait until she comes back, to give her opportunity to revert herself? Thanks.--Mbz1 (talk) 01:26, 4 December 2010 (UTC)

Self reverting wouldn't solve the problem. It's not as if this is a simple 1RR breach. I counted three or four occasions on just a quick scan of her contributions where she has reverted an edit and provided no rationale on the talk page, as she is required to do within 30 minutes of the revert until February next year. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 01:33, 4 December 2010 (UTC)
The block itself and the duration of the block is wrong, as is the timing. I suggest you unblock Gilabrand now and at least give her opportunity to respond to AE. Why were you in such a hurry anyway?--Mbz1 (talk) 01:36, 4 December 2010 (UTC)
Simply stating that it's wrong doesn't make it so. I'm not in a hurry, it's just a clear cut matter. She's under a restriction that requires her to discuss all reverts and she failed to do so on multiple occasions, I'm afraid it's that simple. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 01:46, 4 December 2010 (UTC)
No, not all reverts, only those that are in the area of conflict between Arabs and Israel. In some of the reverts she made she reverted vandalism. For example Dead Sea never ever belonged to Palestinians and that's why it simply cannot be occupied territory. So she reverted vandalism. This edit has nothing to do with conflict because it was made in a general article about Kibbutz. Arabs have nothing to do with a general article about Kibbutz.Iran-Israel relations does not belong to the area of conflict. Iran is not an Arab state and so on. In any case Gilabrand should have been given an opportunity to respond. It is that's why AE requires to notify the editor.--Mbz1 (talk) 01:56, 4 December 2010 (UTC)
I would be inclined to put Iran-Israel relations in that box, but even leaving out, I assume the reason you've neglected to mention SD's diff at AE is because you can't defend it. If she wants to appeal the block, then she can request someone do the paperwork for her at AE via {{unblock}} or {{adminhelp}}. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 02:10, 4 December 2010 (UTC)
How about assuming good faith? No, it was not the reason I left out SD's difference. Honestly I did not even look at it closely, but a few differences of alleged violations less should make a difference at least in the duration of the block. We both know how hard it is to appeal AE block. IMO you should have waited until Gilabrand responds. Anyway, I said what I had to say, and I am not going to take your time any longer. Regards.--Mbz1 (talk) 02:17, 4 December 2010 (UTC)
If she doesn't want to go through the bureaucracy of an AE appeal, she's welcome to email me or request a TPS bring something to my attention. I'm not trying to be unreasonable and will certainly consider any appeals on their merits, but it's a clear violation of a restriction, as admirable as I'm sure Gila's other contributions are. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 02:25, 4 December 2010 (UTC)
  • What Mbz1 says above is incorrect, the Dead Sea borders the West bank in the northwest, see this map: [2], and then we have the revert I brought up. Also the topic ban does not say that she only has to discuss Arab-Israeli reverts, it just says that she must discuss her reverts. --Supreme Deliciousness (talk) 02:18, 4 December 2010 (UTC)
I would assume that, being an ARBPIA sanction, the restriction applies to articles in that "area of conflict". However, respectfully SD, I fear your presence, as the editor who filed the AE request, in this thread may only serve to fan the flames, even if your intentions are to defuse things. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 02:25, 4 December 2010 (UTC)
Ok, but either way she violated her topic ban as she reverted articles within the Arab-Israeli conflict at both the Dead sea and the one I brought up without discussing it.--Supreme Deliciousness (talk) 02:30, 4 December 2010 (UTC)
(ec):So what Dead Sea borders West Bank? It is not an occupied territory. Period. Oh yes, her topic ban concerning only her reverts in Arab Israeli conflict. Please re-read it as many times as you need until you understand it before making false claims. It very clearly states is limited to one revert per rolling 24-hour period per article on all articles within the area of conflict, as defined in WP:ARBPIA#Area of conflict --Mbz1 (talk) 02:28, 4 December 2010 (UTC)

It was an unsourced article about a (presumably) living person that seemed to be making negative claims about its subject and looked like it was created to disparage that person, so that pushed it into the realm of G10. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 22:22, 4 December 2010 (UTC)

Request for advice

Hi, I would be most grateful for your advice regarding a somewhat circular discussion which I have been having at Template talk:Telecommunications industry in the United Kingdom. Essentially an IP editor (with a dynamic address) has been querying both the inclusion of a 'Suppliers' section in the template, and the companies included in that section. The IP has at times accepted the Suppliers section in principle, but is insistent upon third-party sources describing the companies as 'telecommunications suppliers' or something similar.

This seems unreasonable to me, since the web sites of the companies concerned contain ample information about the nature of the companies' core activities and products/services. The IP contends that this does not satisfy Verifiability Policy, since the information is 'Unduly self-serving'. Do they have a point? My view on this is that information describing the core activities of a company and the nature - not the quality, efficacy, reliability or value - of its main products and services is not 'unduly self-serving', but is a simple description of fact. I would be most grateful for your take on this however. Thanks. Rangoon11 (talk) 22:37, 4 December 2010 (UTC)

Requested article

Hi there, I've requested the article Deuces (song) up for semi-protection. ozurbanmusic (talk) 22:40, 4 December 2010 (UTC)

Re:[MY] userpage

Thank you HJ, but I like it unprotected (even if it is moved-vandalized one day). Feel free temporary semi-protecting it when vandalism is excessive, random, 4chan or I end here, which I hope it take alot of years. UK Community Notice - IRC meeting

Dear Wikipedian,

This is the first of what will hopefully be a regular notice to help bring together the UK community so that you can be involved in some amazing things. To kick things off, there will be a UK community IRC meeting at 1800 UTC, December 7, 2010 to discuss the future growth and developement of Wikimedia UK. Without huge community support and involvement, the chapter cannot be successful and to get the most out of it, get involved.

For information on the community IRC meeting please go here

More to come about:

  • Wikipedia 10th Anniversary Events
  • 1st Annual UK Wiki-conference
  • Trustee interest meeting - an event for those community members with even just a fleeting interest in becoming trustees of Wikimedia UK.

Many Thanks

Block

Perhaps you could reconsider on the block of Hrafn (talk · contribs). The difference between him and "Sumbuddi" is that he stopped editing after being warned while Sumbuddi carried on. It's hard for me to see how a block is necessary to prevent disruption in this case. Nomoskedasticity (talk) 07:50, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

He was unblocked by Rd232 (talk · contribs · blocks · protections · deletions · page moves · rights · RfA). I've no objection to the unblock, but, for the record, it was a clear 3RR vio. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 14:33, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

I hope you also blocked my edit warring partner. It was never clear to me why he kept deleting my posts. Was like he was lying in wait and deleted it every 5 minutes and I did not violate any terms. Guess he just did not agree.... (Patruns)

Adrian Gonzalez

Hi there, do you know why Adrian Gonzalez is not still fully protected? I believe it should after you did so yesterday? Can you also extend the full protection until 2pm eastern today when we will know for sure which team he will be on? Thanks--TM 13:47, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

Well it seems to have calmed down, but what's 2pm Eastern in UTC (so I can set the expiry properly)? HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 14:35, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
It hasn't calmed down; I've reverted several edits this morning. Eastern US is -6 UTC, I believe. Thanks--TM 16:03, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
OK, it's protected until 20:07 UTC. How's that? HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 16:08, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
It is great. On another note, I appreciated your help with Downwards and the BLPs at ANI recently.--TM 16:36, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
No problem. And I've very little time for people mucking about with categories on BLPs. They're as bad (if not worse) as the people who spend all their time randomly changing genres on music articles. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 16:39, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
You wouldn't believe the problems I've had with people who insist that X is a Y-American without any proof whatsoever. It is a long, arduous task to battle the notion that what we think and what we can prove are different things. Wikipedia has to focus on what we can prove, especially with BLPs.--TM 16:43, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
I would, trust me. There's a group of IPs who spend all their time doing pretty much the same thing to actors' articles. You;d think they'd have something better to do. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 16:47, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

question

Hello HJ, if an editor has listed an AfD and wants to withdraw it, how is that done? Thanks.Malke 2010 (talk) 17:15, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

If they're the only person who's edited it, then tag the AfD with {{db-g7}} and remove it from the log. Otherwise, if there are no delete !votes, it can be closed as speedy keep. I have a script to do that if you want to link the AfD. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 17:18, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

Michał Miśkiewicz

Hi, Mitchell! I noticed that you've been deleting some of the articles created by User:-2Oc outside-Alex Latham. However, among them there was Michał Miśkiewicz, which I had just cleaned up, removing all fake/unsourced information and properly referencing the rest. So I was wondering if you could restore it. Thanks. :-) Luxic (talk) 18:59, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

If you want. I just used Special:Nuke on him because they all seem to end up deleted eventually. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 19:04, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
Well, all of his articles are indeed a real mess and he often adds fake stats to assert notability. So, it's no wonder that most of the times they get deleted. Luxic (talk) 19:22, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

Mentoring

What can I do now because nobody is mentoring me right now? WAYNESLAM 19:18, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

It seems to me that it would do you a loa of good to take a break from Wiki. If you'reon here every waking minute you have, just trying to do antivandal work, you may be addicted. Given what has happened, you should seriously consider just having a break now and then. It would be ill-advised of you to do anything contentious at this point if your mentor is offline lest you screw up and find yourself in more trouble. StrPby (talk) 19:23, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
My rollback rights were revoked and now I'll be able to take breaks from Wikipedia every now and then. The addiction isn't good since it's bad for your eyesight. WAYNESLAM 19:37, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

RfA

A while back, at the end of my second RfA, you gave me some advice. A few months have passed since then, and I'm starting to think of a third RfA (although because of the input I have received from 2 editors so far it won't be very soon). Do you happen to have some more advice on what I can do to improve my third RfA's chances of succeeding? --Slon02 (talk) 22:27, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

OK, why do you want to be an admin and what would you do with the bit if you woke up and found you'd been granted tomorrow morning? HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 22:31, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
My main reason is so that I could have a wider range of tools to more quickly respond to situations that arise in my usual Wikipedia editing. Most often, when I'm doing something on Wikipedia, it is fighting vandalism and patrolling new pages (although I am moving on to different areas, such as adding actual content). When I'm doing so, I make reports to admins (such as requests for page speedy deletions and user blocks). There are times when those aren't handled right away, and in those times the vandals continue to vandalize. If I became an admin tomorrow morning, I would instead deal with those situations right away instead of having to wait for someone else to deal with them. I suppose that if I woke up and found out that I was granted adminship tomorrow morning, not a lot would change except that I would be able to deal with reports of vandalism and speedy deletion (and page protection, although I have not participated in that as much). --Slon02 (talk) 22:50, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

Would it be possible for some protection to be added to the above template, which a dynamic IP is repeatedly editing against current talk page consensus? Thanks. Rangoon11 (talk) 17:41, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

You'd have to ask at WP:RPP. I'm a bit busy at the minute. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 17:43, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

Well it's easily revoked if he buggers it up. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 20:35, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
OK. The reason I noticed was because I still has his talkpage on my watchlist from his last screw-up. I didn't know rollback was given out so easily. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 22:36, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
I'll give it to anybody with a bit of AV experience whose contribs don't suggest they'll use to edit war. He seems to have done alright with Stiki, so I thought I'd give him a chance. It goes away in two clicks if he doesn't use it properly. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 22:39, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

Hmm, I don't remember that one specifically, but I delete a lot of BLP PRODs. One of the sources is definitely unreliable, the other I can't be 100% on without looking at it in more detail. I've no objection to you fulfilling or denying the request as you see fit if you want, or I'll look at it when I have a minute. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 20:46, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

I actually agree with Phil here. IMO Nableezy did not violate his topic ban.--Mbz1 (talk) 23:26, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
I already copped to my mistake that the article edits occurred right before the ban. Looking at it without that, the block seems weak, so I've unblocked. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 23:31, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
Good for you! Some admins block users as you put it for a "weak reasons" or with no reasons at all, but they will never admit they made a mistake. Everybody is entitled to make a mistake, but only few are brave enough and fair enough to admit they did, and fix it. Thank you.--Mbz1 (talk) 23:39, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

Hey, thanks for your quick response to my request for reviewer rights. I must confess though that when I saw your edit summary, (→User:Ajbpearce: d) I did a double take and thought you had denied my request, it was only on checking that it was clear that you had simply responded done to my request. As edit summaries are always an areas I am looking to improve on personally, and as you seem to be one of the main admins at WP:PERM/RW recently - I thought I would mention it as something that might cause confusion. thanks Ajbpearce (talk) 22:28, 7 December 2010 (UTC)

Sure thing, I'm here to help. One thing, I'm not sure if you are aware of the incident that went on a month back, I closed about 5 AFD's, and was bitten my Cirt, it was a huge thing on the Noticeboard, etc. In the long run, it was agreed, by 95% of those on the noticeboard (huge conversation) that I did nothing wrong, and my closes were infact fine. If you go to my first talkpage archive you can find the discussion, and if you go through the noticeboard you can find it. You will find the list of AFD's I closed there aswell, what are your thoughts on that? Tofutwitch11-Chat -How'd I do? 02:17, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
Discussion on the noticeboard can be seen here. See my talkpage archive for more. Tofutwitch11-Chat -How'd I do? 02:20, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
That's the kind of thing I was talking about. Wading into areas you're not familiar with shows either a lack of judgement or a desire to impress. If you're interested in working in an area like AfD, you should start slowly, closing the absolute most clear-cut discussions and seek advice from regulars. I can look through the discussion and give you a full post-mortem if you really want, but that would have to wait til a more sociable hour. It's currently 0230 and, although I won't get any sleep, I'd like to at least pretend! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 02:27, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
I don't mind what you do, I guess I am just looking for your overall thoughts on the closures. When you have time of course, thanks for all your help, keep up the great work. Tofutwitch11-Chat -How'd I do? 02:47, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
