Sockpuppets of Bitte ohne Seawolf!
editUsernames which are probably sockpuppets of User:Bitte ohne Seawolf! can have these patterns:
- "ist doof!"
- repeated "öll," "äll," or "äss"
- "Entlínkt" or "Entlinkt"
- "Harald"
- "Kríchel" or "Krichel"
Please see Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Bitte ohne Seawolf! and Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Bitte ohne Seawolf!/Archive for further details. Tckma (talk) 14:28, 4 November 2009 (UTC)
Sock request
editI need the following regexp ^trueman with the settings REGEX,WAIT_TILL_EDIT,SOCK_PUPPET(Trueman31),ALTERNATE_TARGET(Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/SPI/Subpage - Bot reported cases) for continued socks of User:Trueman31. Thank you, MuZemike 20:17, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
- Hopefully this handles it. If I've missed something, let me know. TNXMan 20:53, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
Is "cock" on the blacklist anywhere?
editI can't find it ... only c0ck, which is ironic because people using names with c0ck generally do so in an attempt to evade the blacklist. The reason I ask is because there is now an abuse filter that prevents certain account names from being created, and because it outright disallows them, it's a lot more important to minimize false positives than it is in the HBC bot. If "cock" is not on the list, could you please add it so that people like Graham Hiscock, Thomas Hitchcock, and Dominic Ockersz can make their accounts? In fact, I'd be in favor of moving all of the obscene names out of the reach of the abuse filter, and just let it stop blatant impostor accounts like User:Tewəpack, but I'll discuss that with the abuse filter people. -- Soap Talk/Contributions 02:59, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
- Wow, when was it decided to you automatic filters prone to false positives to prevent account creation? I need to add that page to my watchlist. Chillum (Need help? Ask me) 03:12, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
- Regarding the cock pattern, I have adjusted it[1]. Chillum (Need help? Ask me) 03:14, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks. By the way, it's Special:AbuseFilter/102 and the log of actions that trigger it is here. -- Soap Talk/Contributions 03:16, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
- Just a heads-up that I've also removed "niger" from Filter 102 because it was running an almost 50% false positive rate. For example, any name containing Nigeria was blocked. While it would be possible to add an exception for Nigeria, there were other names that wouldn't really be predictable that were also being blocked and so I felt it would be better off gone. If i understand correctly, the username filter was preventing names containing both "niger" and "nigger" from even being created and therefore not appearing on the lists on this page. Now that it is gone, I imagine there will be a lot of names like that appearing again and since vandals often try to get around the filters, perhaps the blacklist should also cover "niger"? Please let me know if you think that this was a bad decision (I'm just going with the 'cock' precedent here). ♥Soap♥ 02:10, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

Misspellings of Admin
editWould be nice if in addition to searching for "admin" as a roll account you could search for "adm*n" (or whatever it needs to be in regx). These two ([2], [3]) got through with lowercase Ls looking like upper case Is (might be 1's also). Thanks. 7 01:18, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
Adding Fap
editI blocked User:Fapperfap tonight, part of a bunch of 4chan lulz on Web 2.0. Anyway, since fap is now a masturbation euphamism, perhaps we should add it, perhaps as a wait to edit. Thoughts? -- Flyguy649 talk 04:57, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
- I'm OK with it, but it should probably be marked as low confidence as well. TNXMan 14:58, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
