ummm...yeah...what the other James said, I just pasted the code in my monobook and you choose what options you want to put on pages. Peace. Spartan-James 22:59, 24 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ok, when you want to revert something, go through history and compare the last versions, or whatever you want to revert. Then, you will notice that [rollback (AGF)] || [rollback] || [rollback (VANDAL)] are at the top. AGF mean Assuming Good Faith(if you think the change was accidental) rollback is just a regular revert and VANDAL logs the edit as a vandal revert. Once you click one of those buttons, a window should automatically open to the last person who edited the page. If you want to give them a warning, click on the warn tab that is at the top of the page, select at warning message, then click the reason. the summary is optional, but appears on the vandal's page. Got it? Peace. Spartan-James 23:13, 24 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

requesting help with parser function ;)

edit

Hi

I'm using a local installation of mediawiki and I use templates from wikipedia. the problem is that any template that includes parser function syntax such as #if is being rendered on the page as regular text.

It's as if the parser function syntax is not available in the wiki do I need to install/import something?

Might you be able to help please?

Thanks!

Image of a Cannula

edit

Hi, you are not the first one who used the image from de:Kanüle -- which in fact is about intravenous needles (the word has almost became a false friend). The en:Cannula article is still a mess and doesn't explain the difference. If read carefully, no single paragraph of it deals with a hard or sharpened tubing that itself can puncture the body. The description is more like that of an intravenous catheter, for example, the upper device in Image:Catheter dissasembled.jpg. Unfortunately your image creates more confusion than explains something, and I don't know how to improve the article correspondingly without resorting to OR. --saimhe 12:23, 1 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm very sorry, I didn't know. I'll revert myself if you want to. — H92 (t · c · no) 00:41, 2 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Re:iPhone

I love it. If you're not a fan of AT&T, then it's not for you, but otherwise, I'd definitely recommend it. Plus, if you like that whole style of interface that Apple uses in OS X and programs like iTunes, then you'll especially love it. Even though it doesn't do as much as some other phones, I personally think that it makes up for what it lacks with an amazingly easy to use interface and strong, reliable software that has yet to crash on me at all.

So, should you choose to buy it, I hope you love it as much as I have! Best wishes, aido2002talk 20:51, 22 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wellwater Conspiracy

edit

I saw that you were in discussion with the user at the Norwegian Wikipedia, and even saw my name mentioned. I'm curious to know as to what that was about. Thanks, indopug (talk) 16:31, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I’ll translate the whole message in which you were mentioned:
Hello. You’re driving people insane with your new accounts on the English Wikipedia. Wellwater Conspiracy, Alive Would? Sun, and today Linkins Parkl. You’re not wanted on the English Wikipedia. Can you please stick with editing here [nowiki]? I will report every one of your socks on the English Wikipedia, unless Rudget and Indopug do it before me. There is no use trying with new accounts, your career there is for the time being finished. I’d like it if you provided an answer to this enquiry, I’d like to talk to you about this, maybe we can find a solution to this on the English Wikipedia as well [as on nowiki]. — H92 (d · b · @) 25. jun 2008 kl. 01:13 (CEST)
— H92 (t · c · no) 16:41, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Ok thanks, was just curious. Anyway, clearly he's back (U2 is alternative rock (talk · contribs). I'll report it to Rudget to block him, but his talk says he's on a Wikibreak. indopug (talk) 16:48, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I’ve already seen him, and reported him to User:Friday. He appears to be offline, but made his edit right before I posted the message to him, I suppose he logged off right before I posted the message. I would’ve gone to Rudget if he wasn’t on Wikibreak. :) — H92 (t · c · no) 16:53, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

<saw your comment on Friday's page> If you thought that was dumb, what do you think of this? Just moments after rudget blocked another one of his socks. indopug (talk) 19:39, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I actually had a laugh of that one. — H92 (t · c · no) 19:41, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
What is he saying here? Your edit summary (pregnancy, miscarriage...) really piqued my interest. indopug (talk) 19:58, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I rewrote parts of it into latin letters (I can read and transcribe Cyrillic), then translated it from Croatian to English (google translate). Given the bold lead-in, I checked on the Serbian Wikipedia, and I see that he has copied it from sr:Побачај which means abortion/miscarriage. It’s just some random text. He said on no: that he was going to start editing on sr-wiki. I’m looking forward to see how that goes. By the way, please take a look at User talk:Friday. — H92 (t · c · no) 20:04, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I strongly disagree with idea of him being allowed to edit on English Wikipedia. Even when he edits with a single account I've seen him frequently edit war and abuse other editors (calling them idiot etc if they don't conform to his POV etc). He also very often tries to push his POV using unreliable sources, even after being told that they are unacceptable. Further there's his abuse of FLC; countless times he's nominated articles that weren't nearly ready. He's done it once on FAC too. (which is when I caught him, after his vote-fraud) So to have him have anything to do with this project would only be detrimental, I'm sorry to say. indopug (talk) 20:53, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I understand your point of view. Are you willing to propose a ban? — H92 (t · c · no) 20:56, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
What exactly does that mean; isn't he already banned? indopug (talk) 20:57, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I think there’s a difference between an ordinary block and a community ban. — H92 (t · c · no) 21:00, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
With a community ban would he still be allowed to create accounts from his IP? In any case, I think community bans are only afforded to those who push their POV on "high-profile" articles such as Homeopathy, Intelligent Design etc... indopug (talk) 21:37, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Hmm yeh, you’re right. — H92 (t · c · no) 22:09, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

You speak Norwegian? I will be in need of a translator in the next week or two. –xenocidic (talk) 18:40, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yup, I’m a native speaker of Norwegian. Just let me know when you need a translator. — H92 (t · c · no) 19:19, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

No problem! :) — H92 (t · c · no) 19:31, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • OK H92, I am ready to invoke your Norwegian tongue - here's what I'm trying to accomplish: no:User:Xeno is the owner of the global account "Xeno". Now, I want to obtain this username "Xeno" here, just as a doppleganger of sorts. It would not be used for editing. I was hoping you might be able to see if he had a problem with this; and if not, obtain his blessing for me to complete this action. –xenocidic (talk) 17:21, 2 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
There is no SUL account called “Xeno”, but there are some Xenos on some other projects[1]. As you can see on User talk:Xeno, a User:Xenowiki is trying to usurp the account. If you want a SUL account called “Xeno” this is more difficult. If you still want the Xeno name on no.wiki I can ask him for you. He hasn’t made an edit since August last year. :) — H92 (t · c · no) 19:31, 2 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
ok I guess what has happened is that he has "claim" to the global account (because he has the most edits with it)... Xenowiki was me. All I want is the Xeno name on the en.wiki (not the no.wiki). hrm, if the no.wiki is inactive... since last year? let's just leave it alone then, I'll use a different solution. cheers! –xenocidic (talk) 19:42, 2 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
I can get you that name if you want to (and the current Xeno doesn’t object). Just let me know. — H92 (t · c · no) 20:14, 2 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • Ok, it turns out I do need his approval after all. but I don't want or need the name on the Norwegian wiki, he can keep the name there, all I need is for him to say it's OK for me to take over the name here (on the English wiki). –xenocidic (talk) 12:51, 8 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
    But he’s not Xeno here. According to his userpage on no-wiki his username here is Xeno norway. — H92 (t · c · no) 20:31, 8 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Hrm... while that wasn't quite the problem, with this new information let's just leave everything as it is. Thanks for your help! =) –xenocidic (talk) 20:38, 8 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

--Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 14:09, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
— H92 (t · c · no) 14:18, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Det visste jeg ikke. --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 14:40, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
— H92 (t · c · no) 16:17, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
— H92 (t · c · no) 12:59, 27 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Okay. --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 13:00, 27 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Hvor lenge skal jeg bli blokkert. --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 17:13, 28 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Jeg vet ikke. — H92 (t · c · no) 19:16, 28 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
--Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 16:01, 1 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
— H92 (t · c · no) 16:08, 1 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

--Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 16:18, 1 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Nei. — H92 (t · c · no) 16:19, 1 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hvorfor? --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 18:49, 1 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

— H92 (t · c · no) 19:12, 1 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Regarding the notice you left on his userpage, I think he has been blocked for abusing multiple accounts, one person alone is not permitted to tell admins not to block people. Forgive if I'm missing something, but it seems as if you have taken it upon yourself to over-rule community consensus. Could you please explain? Qst (talk) 16:06, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I’m not trying to overrule any community consensus. Is community consensus reached? In that case, where? I didn’t know. He committed a vote fraud, a checkuser was performed, proving the fraud, for which he got an indefinite block.[2] I agree that sockpuppets is the wrong procedure to contesting a block. He regrets his actions, he only wants to contribute to Wikipedia, and as long as he behaves properly, it’s not that problematic. But, if he continues with POV push (cite indopug) or other bad things, this is out of my hands. Why don’t we give him that last chance, some kind of probation? — H92 (t · c · no) 16:17, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yeah make sure you guys eighter make a new page for the 2nd generation ipod touch. or make a new section on this page for the ipod touch G2 or iPTG2.

and here is some news about the JailBreaking news as of now.

[quote]Submitted by jfb392 on Sep 09, 2008 - 5:52 PM Unfortunately, it looks like the current form of Pwnage won't work with the new iPod touch (n72ap). The device has a new GID key (I assume this is because it uses a different processor; the S5L8720x, rather than the S5L8900 used in the first iPod touch, iPhone and iPhone 3G), which means that none of the system images can be decrypted. Each image contains a KBAG tag which is 0x20 long (64 bytes) that is decrypted by the hardware AES engine, then the resulting keys are used to decrypt the image itself. Since the GID key differs from every other device, you can only decrypt KBAG tag data using n72ap itself. Of course, this leads you to a dead end, since you use either the kernel or iBoot to gain access to the hardware AES engine (which usually cannot be accessed). A new exploit will have to be found to allow access to the hardware AES engine first, so that the KBAG data can then be decrypted, which will then allow for images to be decrypted and modified.

So, we have to wait for a new low-level exploit or settle for something less than Pwnage (probably not possible, since 2.x is locked down). Unfortunately, I don't think this will happen very quickly, since the Dev Team is actually the iPhone Dev Team, and they don't seem to prioritize the iPod touch. Here's to hoping though!

Props to Chronic and WEsTbAeR-- for making the processor and model information available so quickly. I assume that one of the two, or both, also discovered that there is a new GID key. [/quote] Exit1010 (talk) 23:31, 10 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

I think a new section would be sufficient. I have no interest in how to Pwn an iPod touch as I have an iPhone 3G, and thanks to the App Store I don’t plan to pwn that one either. — H92 (t · c · no) 12:56, 11 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
