C19H15ClFNO2 listed at Redirects for discussion edit

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect C19H15ClFNO2. Since you had some involvement with the C19H15ClFNO2 redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you wish to do so. ___CAPTAIN MEDUSAtalk 11:08, 26 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

@CAPTAIN MEDUSA: Hi! After 2 weeks, I reached the 1,000th verified formula. Nearly 400 edits needed for corrections; most of it is creation of redir pages.
There are ~10500 different formulas in enWiki with C (coal) in it. 8500 of it are unique (redir). So I am at 10%. It seems to me you can't stand the pace. :)
Thank you for help and barnstar. Gyimhu (talk) 23:05, 28 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
Gyimhu, Congratulations for reaching 1,000th verified formula. I have reviewed most of your formulas. And continue to enjoy your improvements in enWiki. ___CAPTAIN MEDUSAtalk 12:29, 29 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Thank you edit

I always thought it would be nice for all Wikipedia articles about chemical compounds to have redirects from their molecular formulas. I've created many of them over the years, but I've never had the stamina to try to systematically create them all. I'm happy to see you doing so. I just wanted to say thank you and keep up the good work. -- Ed (Edgar181) 15:37, 10 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi, @Edgar181:
I am not a chemist, but programmer and mathematician, began interesting in organic chemistry 15 years ago. I am retired for a year. I have two goals with formulas:
After two round of manual checking and a round of category-check of formula pages an anon bot will monitor changes so only differences are to check. This way the formula pages remain up-to-date.
The number of faulty and missing pages/redirs are ~25%; my program finds ~30% so ~5% are false. (No wonder: you can hope no more with manual method and without propagated policy.) I am now at 3000 of 15294 moleculas that contain carbon.
My further goal is a structural search similiar to ChemSpider based on enwiki's SMILES and InChi - but it is now only a dream for the next year. Gyimhu (talk) 01:12, 11 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Talk pages edit

Hello.
Can you please use the civilized world’s indentation instead of blue links to user pages? When replying certain posting, place the reply into the subthread, not append it to the very bottom of the whole section. Incnis Mrsi (talk) 10:51, 10 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Incnis Mrsi: Sorry for it. I came recently from Hungarian wiki and there is used so to avoid mixing new and old posts. Thank you for warning. Gyimhu (talk) 19:08, 10 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
Just a suggestion (no “warning”)… and are hu.Wikipedians preoccupied with avoid[ance of] mixing new and old posts? Have they such guideline, really? I am curious whether such foolishness may actually be codified in a wiki frequented by more than a dozen users. Incnis Mrsi (talk) 19:48, 10 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Incnis Mrsi: In huwiki the rules are crazy so I don't know them. I think they are only for discipline users by admins. I was warned by huwiki admins more times. You are right: it is foolish. And sorry once again: I am new here. Gyimhu (talk) 19:58, 10 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of C6334H9792N1700O2000S42 edit

The article C6334H9792N1700O2000S42 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

I don't think either of those molecules will be notable by their molecular structure, which is itself not a particularly-likely search term. (You don't include the molecular formulas for macromolecules such as proteins, for example.)

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. – John M Wolfson (talkcontribs) 05:26, 12 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Gyimhu (talk) 17:14, 9 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
