Thanks for updating The Fame (album). It is my understanding that fair use requires the use of low res images (up to 300 px). If you need to update an image it is better to keep the same name and just upload the revision. This will "clobber" (replace) the previous version, with no need to edit the article, etc. Much cleaner. You can ignore the copyvio notices below, the images will auto-delete in a few days. I know absolutely nothing about pop culture, and it is very helpful to have someone such as yourself deal with such articles. Apteva (talk) 16:59, 11 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

October 2008 edit

The Fame (album) images.

Adding copyright information is not what I had in mind. You are creating a copyright violation, because the images you uploaded are too hi-res to constitute fair use under copyright law. I have asked for assistance on this point, but I believe they need to be deleted or replaced with a low resolution version. Since there already is a low resolution version available, it would make more sense to me to just delete these two that you uploaded. Apteva (talk) 06:35, 13 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

However, can you provide a link on Image:Lady Gaga The fame.jpg to the source? See for example, Image:Album Cover-The Fame.jpg. I notice that you uploaded a 600 px version instead of a 500 px version. The higher res one would be better. (It is ok to make a link to a high res image, but not ok to upload it.) Image without license edit

Unspecified source/license for Image:Katy Hudson.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Katy Hudson.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 20:54, 26 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
