wp:TALK edit

You might want to read wp:TALK, particularly the part that says it's OK to "Delete material not relevant to improving the article (per the above subsection #How to use article talk pages)." The section I deleted did not reference Melamine, and has been removed several times after the same editor inserted it. It is wp:OR with no refs, and off topic. Also, I just realized you posted that message to my user page, not my talk page. It's important you know the difference... it's discussed both at wp:TALK and wp:USER. NJGW (talk) 05:22, 1 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
I hope you understand my concerns with keeping the articles and talk pages free of... well crap. There are all sorts of people who would love to put their own personal research on Wikipedia, and therefore validate it. But that is not what the project is for. This project let's the world know what seems to have been already validated by the appropriate expert vetting process (be it peer-reviewed journals or consistently reliable and thorough news agencies. If you have some sort of source like these which backs up your research, then discussing how to work the information into the article is straightforward. Otherwise, we have to abide by wp:NOTFORUM (talk pages are for discussing the articles, not for use as a bulletin board or forum), which can keep out just as much good as it can bad. NJGW (talk) 03:33, 2 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
By the way, you don't have to post the whole discussion on my talk page. You can reply here or there, I will see it either way (check out the "watchlist" tab, it's very helpful). NJGW (talk) 03:35, 2 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
I'm afraid at this time I don't have anything further to add. This information is certainly not currently available in any journal that I am aware of. I hope that what I have presented so far is appropriate in its presence on the Talk page. From the wp:NOTFORUM page it does appear to be so. Thanks for your help and input. --Gustable (talk) 04:13, 2 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
