An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Smosh. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Smosh (4th nomination). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.
Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:12, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

Shinji Ikari
editThanks for watching out for this article. I believe some anonymous editor is dead set on adding the category of fictional bisexual regardless of reliable sources or consensus. I had hoped it would end after moderator intervention, but I was wrong. I guess I'll have to watch the page as well, since I doubt this is the end of it. --Tarage (talk) 10:03, 15 July 2011 (UTC)
WTH?
editWhy did you move Characters of Malcolm in the Middle back to List of Malcolm in the Middle characters? The article is hardly just a list, as mentioned on the talk page multiple times. (Talk:List_of_Malcolm_in_the_Middle_characters#Is_this_article_really_a_.22list.22.3F, Talk:List_of_Malcolm_in_the_Middle_characters#Proposal_to_rename_this_article) I really can't see any good reason to call that article a "list".

Per character images in List of M*A*S*H characters
editI've removed the per character images you added to this article per [[WP:NFLISTS}]. The use of individual screen shots for the depiction of individual characters like this is strongly discouraged. Please find a cast photo instead, with a caption identifying the prime characters. There are plenty of options. Please do not restore the individual images. If you have questions, please ask. Thank you, --Hammersoft (talk) 18:52, 16 July 2011 (UTC)
Malcolm in the Middle characters
editHave you abandoned our conversation? I still see no reason to consider this article a list.
Thatotherperson (talk/contribs) 11:00, 20 July 2011 (UTC)
- I take it you don't have my talk page on your watchlist? I've left you another reply. Thatotherperson (talk/contribs) 22:36, 23 July 2011 (UTC)
Someone came along with a third opinion, more or less agreeing with my definition of "list". Can I move the page back now, or do you want to keep arguing the point?

editThanks for the major List of Shrek characters cleanup! I've been itching to do that for a while now, but I wasn't sure how to do it non-controversially. Your solution works just fine, as far as I'm concerned. --Fru1tbat (talk) 20:40, 27 July 2011 (UTC)

revert?
edithey, why did you revert my article "morbid delusion"? I was working on getting references, lol Theamazingspiderman20 (talk) 01:28, 31 July 2011 (UTC)
- I reverted your additions to morbid jealousy because, while I could tell were made in good faith, they added little that would benefit the article and seemed irrelevant in context. The article is about jealousy, not necessarily delusion--GroovySandwich 01:33, 31 July 2011 (UTC)
Not necessarly, there is an article on jealousy, this is about "delusional jealousy" when one think that another person is lieing when they are not or the accuser cant prove it, like when a female says your cheating when your not(or she cant prove it). Its a form of delusion and i think it should have its own article. I admit it does need some work and references, that why im working on it now. You can help if you want? Delusional jealousy is a mental illness, but i dont think its listed. Thats why this article is in the catagory of unknown illnesses (look at the bottom of the page) Theamazingspiderman20 (talk) 01:44, 31 July 2011 (UTC)
Honestly, i see where your coming from. Although, i know jealousy and obsessive delusions exist, i cant find any good references on it, as it is always boxed into the the relationship scenario. I guess I'll just make a seperate section in the end mentioning it instead of having two seperate sections devoted to them. Theamazingspiderman20 (talk) 01:51, 31 July 2011 (UTC)
- Sounds like a fair compromise--GroovySandwich 01:54, 31 July 2011 (UTC)

Disney
editSince you're "resurrecting" the Disney project, can you at least reassess Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides as I requested here? (I could also use some input to help pass the GA nomination, but don't know if you're free enough for this) igordebraga ≠ 00:48, 4 August 2011 (UTC)
- I've reassessed it as B-class. I'm currently working on two articles under peer review so I likely won't be able to contribute much to your GAN, sorry. But the article looks good, don't see why it wouldn't pass--GroovySandwich 01:20, 4 August 2011 (UTC)
Disney feature films
editHello GroovySandwich, because you are a member of WikiProject Disney, I thought it would interest you to lend your time and assistence on List of Disney theatrical feature films. Apparantly some editor (not an official one, can only be identified by an IP address) has altered the article in a drastic way. Originally, the article included the year, name, and studio credit for each film. The studio credits have been removed, and it would be difficult for myself alone to research and add them again. I would gladly appreciate your help in resolving this matter. Thank you, ~ Jedi94 (talk) 22:08, 3 August 2011 (UTC)

Improving the Bolt article
editHi there!
I saw the edits you did on Bolt (character). I’m glad someone with experience is taking initiative to improve the article seeing as it definitely needs some work. However, I’m not sure simply deleting entire sections is a good way to go. Obviously, the article is too long and extensive, but I’d rather rewrite unnecessarily long sections to be shorter and more concise so that the article can still be all-covering. Simply deleting sections might make the article uneven with some aspects of the subject being extensively described while others aren’t even mentioned.
For example, I think the now deleted Personality section contained some relevant information while the Development section features a lot of information that would fit better in the personality section. Do you think that might work? --Carlminez (talk) 23:25, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
- The Personality section was almost entirely viewer interpretation of the character and I couldn't find anything worth salvaging so I cut the section. Same for the other sections I removed. You need a good balance of real-world info and character details, see WP:WEIGHT. I'd advise that you keep the development information where it is and add more citations. There's a lot of quotes or things like "Bolt was based on so and so..." that aren't cited. Try to keep things like Personality or Physical appearance to a minimum, or if they are added,to include as much sourced, real-world context as possible. In regards to the Physical appearance section, it reiterates information already found in the Design section, so I'd suggest either removal or extensive rewriting.
- For other Good Articles of fictional characters, see: Aang, Jack Sparrow, or Phineas Flynn, etc.
- I'll help out with the article, but to be honest I haven't seen the film and I'm not too knowledgeable of the character--GroovySandwich 23:35, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of File:Mash-tv-show-10.jpg
editA tag has been placed on File:Mash-tv-show-10.jpg, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you.
- The links for what's here or at Commons that's free are on this file page. We hope (talk) 16:11, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
I've been overly busy in real life and haven't done much serious Wikipedia editing in a while (considering the poor rules and worse overall quality of this place, I'm not really inclined to even try). If you need some help w/ research, fact-checking, or anything, let me know. I can also direct you towards the reference materials I have. - FuriousFreddy (talk) 18:24, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
Best references are these following books, most of which should be in your local library:
- http://books.google.com/books/about/Of_mice_and_magic.html?id=NGkcAQAAIAAJ

I was also running searches in the Los Angeles Times and Orlando Sentinel for any Disney animation-related articles for info/references for the newer films. The documentaries Waking Sleeping Beauty and Dream On Silly Dreamer also provide factoids and the employees' perspectives.
Let me know if you need any help locating info. If I can directly help at all (not looking likely right now, given my schedule), I will try to. Also, the Disney Renaissance article is loaded with misinformation, POV, and just plain cruft. I was attempting to have it folded into the rewrite (since all it really attempts to do is chronicle Disney animation from 1989 to 1999) or have it done away with altogether; even the term alone is fan-made.

POTC articles
editThanks for taking on some clean-up for articles related to Pirates of the Caribbean. I went to the trouble of cleaning up the navigation template Template:Pirates of the Caribbean. I believe that may have alerted some editors who have undone your clean-up efforts. I apologize if it's making your job any harder. I don't have strong feelings on the matter, so I leave it to your discretion which parts belong in the encyclopedia and which don't. Shooterwalker (talk) 23:19, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
- I don't mind, it happens. From what I see, only Cutler Beckett has been recreated. I might take it to AFD; he doesn't seem particularly notable--GroovySandwichYum. 23:25, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
Merging
editHi. I noticed that you merged Sally (The Nightmare Before Christmas) to List of The Nightmare Before Christmas characters. I skimmed your contributions and saw other merges, such as to List of Pirates of the Caribbean characters. It would be helpful if you used the recommended edit summaries and {{Copied}} tags per WP:Merging#Performing the merger and WP:Copying within Wikipedia. Thanks. Flatscan (talk) 04:30, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
- I'll keep that in mind, thanks--GroovySandwichYum. 06:04, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
Scrubs
editSo, I strongly felt the need to to undo your merge proposal. I've found those articles to be quite helpful over the past few months, and feel it way too bureaucratic to virtually eliminate them do to "policy". Wikipedia allows limited use of primary sources (such as the work itself) for asserting major plot elements in fiction, which these articles did, admittedly extensively.
I think it does the project more harm than good for supporting articles to major subjects to simply vanish. Wikipedia may not be a "wp:bureaucracy", and "wp:bold" edits are often welcome, but leaving a single discussion comment on a low traffic page really doesn't give people time to consider your proposal. It would be less jarring to remove any egregious problems boldly, possibly even leaving the page as a stub if necessary. It would make less work for everyone that way. --Zfish118 (talk) 04:45, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
- I don't see how those articles are helpful, to be honest. They regurgitate plot points and trivial facts when all of that is already adequately covered in the episode summaries and the character list itself. Reducing the articles to stubs doesn't seem practical either; they'd just be the same size as they were on the list after I merged them and besides, they would quickly become bloated with cruft as before--GroovySandwichYum. 06:04, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
The Thing trim
editExcellet trim on The Thing plot...I agree, it was getting wordy. Could you consider replacing the quote box? I thought it added to the "distrust-factor" John Carpenter created in the plot? If not, I'll support the edit.Docob5 (talk) 21:28, 24 August 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks; it could still use some more work though. As for the quote box, it's not really necessary, as the plot is not meant to replicate the experience of watching the film--GroovySandwichYum. 21:39, 24 August 2011 (UTC)
