WP Australia edit

Hi, I noticed you have written on some Australia related topics. You may be interested in looking at WikiProject Australia. a group of editors who collaborate on articles relating to Australia. Cheers, Mattinbgn\talk 22:07, 17 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Netkinetic, I think you have got the wrong person here. The edit you reverted was this one by an IP editor. More care and an apology to Groogle may be in order. -- Mattinbgn\talk 02:45, 3 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
Good catch. VP is acting up tonight it would seem. Thanks.Netkinetic (t/c/@) 03:08, 3 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

(Outdented) I'm puzzled here. I don't see any relationship to reverted edits. Am I missing something? Or is this unrelated to the heading? Groogle (talk) 11:20, 3 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

It relates to this edit, placed in error on your page and since removed. -- Mattinbgn\talk 11:26, 3 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference edit

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:39, 14 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for November 28 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Amyema pendula, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Sieber (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Proposed deletion of Syce edit

The article Syce has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Dictionary definition: nothing here sufficient for an encyclopedia article.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. PamD 08:52, 4 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Diuris sulphurea edit

Hello Groogle,

I'm working through expanding the Diuris pages and came across your note on the talk page of D. sulphurea. Unfortunately, there aren't many references on the web to most species of Diuris (which is one of the reasons I write about them!). The best reference to D. sulphurea is David Jones's "A Complete Guide to Native Orchids of Australia including the island territories" - now out of print and very difficult to obtain. (I've had to borrow one.) Jones gives the common names "tiger orchid" and "hornet orchid". I'll expand the page shortly but thanks for your note and your work in general. Image without license edit

Unspecified source/license for File:Mount-Buninyong-detail-1.jpeg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Mount-Buninyong-detail-1.jpeg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time after the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: Once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 02:01, 30 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Please attribute or claim media you uploaded or restored: File:Mount-Buninyong-detail-1.jpeg edit

You uploaded or restored , File:Mount-Buninyong-detail-1.jpeg, but for various reasons did not add an {{information}} block, or indicate your (user) name on the file description page. Media uploaded to Wikipedia needs information on the SPECIFIC authorship and source of files, to ensure that it complies with copyright laws in various jurisdictions.

If it's entirely your own work:
please include {{own}} in the relevant source field, amend the {{information}} added by a third party, ensuring that your user name (or name you want used for attribution) is clear in the author field, and change the license to an appropriate "self" variant (if such a license is not already used). You should also add an |author= parameter to the license tag, to assist reviews and image patrollers. You can also add |claimed=yes and an |author=to the {{media by uploader}} or {{presumed_self}} tag if it is present to indicate that you've acknowledged the image, and license shown (and updated the {{information}} where appropriate).
If it's not entirely your own work, or the media is based on the work of others:
Please update the source and authorship fields, so that they accurately reflect the source and authors of the original work(s), as well as the derivative you created. You should also not use a "self" license unless the work is entirely you own. Media that is incorrectly claimed as self or {{own}}, will eventually be listed at Files for Discussion or deleted, unless it's full status is entirely clear to other contributors, reviewers and image patrollers. You should also read Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission which details how to confirm any permissions you obtained for works by others that are still in copyright.

Whilst this notification, relates to a single media upload, it would also be appreciated if you could ensure that appropriate attribution exists for other media you uploaded, You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

It's okay to remove or strike messages like this once the concerns have been addressed. :).

ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 11:29, 4 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

If it's own work, you need to indicate this distinctly. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 07:40, 9 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

File:Mount-Buninyong-detail-1.jpeg edit

Subsequent to the message above, I've updated the file-description page in good faith, to include the {{own}} work tag it needed, based on your User page information.

You do not now need to do anything.

File:Wolf-tenoroon.jpeg and File:Wolf-tenoroon-rear.jpeg edit

Hello, both files are here licensed under CC BY-SA 3.0. However, on the given website it says that all files on the website are released under CC BY-NC-SA 3.0. And this causes two reasons to delete the files at once. Reason 1: WP:F11, no evidence of permission, because the licences are different. The second reason would be WP:F3 - "no commercial use" is not allowed on WP. See WP:F11 for the solution to the problem. --TheImaCow (talk) 12:20, 9 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

You're comparing two different images. The one on my web site has one license, the one on Wikipedia has another. There's nothing wrong in that. Groogle (talk) 01:50, 15 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
