ようこそ
  • You don't need to read anything - anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people.
  • Ask for help. Talk to us live, or edit this page, put {{helpme}} and describe what help you need. Someone will reply very quickly - usually within a few minutes.
  • Edit existing articles, before you make your own. Look at some subjects that you know about, and see if you can make them a bit better. For example, Wikipedia:Cleanup#2009.
  • When you're ready, read about Your first article. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references.

Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page.

There's lots of information below. Once again, welcome to the fantastic world of Wikipedia!

Suggestions / Recommendations edit

Hi.

Sorry you're having trouble finding 'adoption'; the best answer is, to get involved with editing some articles.

Join WikiProject Thailand, perhaps.

Edit any article - just try and improve it a little. Here are some Thailand-related articles that need tidying up;

Of course, you can edit any article you like - but I do think that, if you start editing, it is the quickest way of learning more about Wikipedia.

Have a look at new pages, deciding which articles to delete, the cleanup campaign, requested articles, requests for feedback, or the huge backlog of tasks.

Maybe just something random.

And, of course, ask whenever you have any questions.

Hope that helps. Chzz  ►  10:17, 22 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Your project edit

Hi there, I'm not sure that adoption would necessarily be appropriate just for one project (not to say that I wouldn't consider it more generally), but with that being said, I'd still be happy to take a look at what you're doing and give you some ideas if it's appropriate. What kind of project are you talking about? — e. ripley\talk 11:57, 30 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi there, I am guessing you mean the article in your userspace about Kamalaya Koh Samui? I have taken a look at it and I must tell you frankly that I'm not sure an article about this spa would survive on Wikipedia. In its present form it is almost guaranteed to be deleted as advertising. This is because there aren't very many unbiased sources that discuss what make this place particularly notable -- in other words, particularly worth its own article. By necessity this would likely have to exclude things like mentions in travel guidebooks, or area guides, etc. You may be able to justify having an article on this spa by basing it on the celebrities who frequent it, since that's been covered by some newspapers, but even that may be a stretch. If you decide to go that route, you will most likely need to eliminate all the information about the people who are mentioned in the article now because they are not particularly notable. This probably isn't the critique you wanted to hear, but it is honest in any case. — e. ripley\talk 00:57, 2 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
