Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the username you have chosen (Gridplusplus) seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, company or website.

There are two issues with this:

  1. It is possible that you have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, you must exercise great caution when editing on topics related to your organization or adding links to its website.
  2. Your account cannot represent a group of people. You may wish to create a new account with a username that represents only you. Alternatively, you may consider changing your username to avoid giving the impression that your personal account is being used for promotional purposes.

Regardless of whether you change your name or create a new account, you are not exempted from the guidelines concerning editing where you have a conflict of interest. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Speedy deletion nomination of User:Gridplusplus edit

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on User:Gridplusplus, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item G11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising,  . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the article's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --Hammersoft (talk) 15:34, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Contested deletion edit

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... it is about me, personally, I am the ++Dude --Gridplusplus (talk) 15:36, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

  • Wikipedia is not a platform for self promotion. --Hammersoft (talk) 15:38, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

I am totally confused, I dont want it to be deleted. It said "Info About You" and thats what I did --Gridplusplus (talk) 15:39, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

  • I understand that. But, you are promoting yourself. There is a difference between describing yourself and promoting yourself. The page you have created is self promotional. Please see WP:UP#PROMO. --Hammersoft (talk) 15:42, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

OK how would I describe it then? forget it, just delete the user, I will hire a editor who will do that stuff for me, thx --84.44.48.3 (talk) 15:47, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

  • I think perhaps you're missing the point. Wikipedia is not a place for you to increase you and/or your company's presence on the net, advertise your services, talk about your vision and values, etc. You can't do that here. This is not a marketing medium. Please find other outlets for that. This is an encyclopedia. --Hammersoft (talk) 15:48, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

. why are the XPower++ Links deleted, they are not promotional at all, they only state the existence of a tool, if external links is the false whay to go how do I create a XPower++ page, like Ultimate++ has, the reason why I created a account in the first place was to prevent the deletion of the XPower++ lines in Cross Platform Development List and List of Rapid Application Development tools --84.44.48.3 (talk) 15:55, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

How is that spamming? it is a real tool in a list of real tools - its called adding info, ok I can understand the external link, instead of being nasty, can you explain how to open a page like Ultimate++ so I can put it in there, then it is not a external link, the reason why I opened an account was to create that page. --84.44.48.3 (talk) 16:03, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

  • You shouldn't be adding material to articles about yourself or an organization you represent. If you and/or your organization becomes notable, somebody will write about you. This simply isn't a vehicle for you to be talking about yourself and/or your organization. It isn't. --Hammersoft (talk) 16:16, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

How is this then a Open Encyclopedia, Why do you invite in your front page to add, edit, and help to make this as accurate as possible, having a tool added into the list is accurate info. I starting to suspect that this is something else and I am very disappointed. I have added XPower++ again, without an external link, so pure info, people have the right to know that such a tool exist, and the Encyclopedia is a free tool of research, so please leave it in. --84.44.48.3 (talk) 16:27, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

  • Sorry, but no. Please see Wikipedia:Verifiability, where it notes "The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth". You say something is true. Fine, it's true. Don't care. If it's not verifiable by secondary sources, there's a pretty good chance it doesn't belong here. That's a strike against it. Next, a person who is representing the organization is the one adding the material. That's another strike against it. Open encyclopedia, yes. But you can't read "open" to the exclusion of "encyclopedia". --Hammersoft (talk) 17:14, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

your argument is bull, you are currently deleting a true statement, me or any other will continue to edit that list, there is nothing you can do (except to continue to delete the truth), this is absolutely not promoting, everyone has the right to learn about the truth, XPower++ will end up in that list, its a free country, everyone has the right to know, this is my last comment about this. I lost a battle, but the war is not over. --84.44.48.3 (talk) 17:27, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

  • If you want to start a war, we have plenty of tools to assist us in assuring your disruptive edits are prevented, including having your company blacklisted from Wikipedia. I tried to explain to you that we are not about truth but verifiability. Apparently you're not willing to believe that. But (oh the irony) it's true. --Hammersoft (talk) 17:32, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

October 2011 edit

Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended or used for publicity and/or promotional purposes. Please read the following carefully.

Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, celebrity or other well-known individual, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not. See WP:FAQ/Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

What can I do now?

You are still welcome to write about something other than your company, organization, or clients. If you do intend to make useful contributions on some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, please see how to appeal a block. Danger (talk) 01:52, 12 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
