Non-notable actor, only claim to notability is appearance in one as yet unaired episode of TV series.

Your username/getting started at WP

edit

If I understood your remarks on the talk page of the deleted article correctly, you are not in fact Matt Greenwood? I'm afraid that raises another issue. Our username policy contravenes the use of a living person's real name as a username unless you are in fact that person and have verified as much using our open ticket response system. Therefore, I must ask that you either file a request to change your username by clicking here or simply abandon this account and create a new one. Either is equally acceptable, changing your username allows you to retain attribution for the edits you have already made but there are relatively few of those. I'm sorry you've gotten off to such a rocky start here, Wikipedia's maze of policies and guidelines can be quite dizzying to a newcomer. Please don't let this experience sour you on contributing to Wikipedia, as long as you understand our core policies, you should be fine, the rest will come later. Your edits to Waterloo Road (TV series)

edit

Just thought I should explain my removal of the text you added, in the hope we can avoid an edit war. We need to consider several things here: that the section in question is a brief summary of series 7, that anything singled out for special attention like you did for the Martin storyline needs to be notable, and that it needs to be backed up by reliable sources. Unfortunately the information you added does not satisfy this criteria. The main sources you provide are two wordpress blogs, a message board and a twitter petition, none of which pass WP:RS. In addition, the blog that reviews the episode and the digitalspy article fail WP:SYNTHESIS, as neither explicitly link their comments to the Martin story. So I'm sorry but there's no indication that this is notable enough, especially for such a large section in a series summary.

On a side-note, given the comments above on this talk page I don't know if you're actually Matt Greenwood or not. If you're not, you need to take the advice in the section above re: changing your username. If you are, you either need to get your identity verified or change your username if you want to save yourself the bother. See WP:REALNAME. Also, if you are Matt then rest assured that my removing your edits is nothing personal. Rules is rules and all. U-Mos (talk) 22:28, 3 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
