Ridin' Censorship

I am upset that you removed the censorship section. You could have added to it instead of deleting it. There was a censorship section in Like a Boss.

Largerthanlife147 (talk) 01:06, 13 February 2012 (UTC)

Articles should not have blank sections in them. If you have some properly sourced content to add, by all means add it, but we don't need section headers sectioning off an area with nothing in it, that's just silly. Beeblebrox (talk) 01:16, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
And now that I've looked over the other article you mentioned, the section you refer to was completely unsourced and has been removed as well. Beeblebrox (talk) 01:22, 13 February 2012 (UTC)

Irish Barnstar of National Merit

I saw the edit you made adding "The Irish Barnstar". Nice work! (I assume you did the graphic design, too; I'm impressed). The only problem is that there already is an Ireland Barnstar of National Merit, and I replaced your edit with the older, more established award. If you have any questions, just respond here. Cheers! Disambiguation link notification

Hi. When you recently edited Ferrari Boyz, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page XXL (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

I'll fix that now, thanks It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 10:52, 16 February 2012 (UTC)

Your recent edits

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button   or   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. RE:Link to guideline

I mentioned it in the edit summary; Template:Infobox album#Template:Singles, "1.Do not include singles that were added as bonus tracks on a re-release of an album." Dan56 (talk) 23:00, 16 February 2012 (UTC) Are you sure they count as Bonus Tracks? Forever was a high charting single

What do you mean? They weren't on the original release. Dan56 (talk) 23:12, 16 February 2012 (UTC)

Never mind, I'll keep those guidelines in mind in future, cheers

List of best-selling music artists

Please refrain from reverting edits of the main editors at the List of best-selling music artists who have brought the list to the level it is. Also, explain what you mean by first none of the other sale figures are in order, second all irish chart certified sales are there. If you wish to insert Irish certified sales, you must insert it for all others for consistency sake, you can't insert for one artist and not insert for others. Finally, follow all instructions posted on the list including the order by which the markets are placed: Markets' order within the table is based on Retail Value each market generates respectively, largest market at the top and smallest at the bottom[3]. --Harout72 (talk) 21:43, 18 February 2012 (UTC)

More information needed about File:Christian Rock Hard..jpg

Hello, Green-Halcyon!

It was really helpful of you to you to upload File:Christian Rock Hard..jpg. However, we need to properly format the image license information in order to keep and use new images.

If you can edit the description and add one of these templates, that would be great. If you're not sure how or would like some help, please ask us at the media copyright questions page and we'll be happy to assist you.

Speedy deletion contested: 2011 Torneo di Viareggio

Hello Green-Halcyon, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of 2011 Torneo di Viareggio, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: article is not about a club. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Bmusician 12:57, 20 February 2012 (UTC)

RE: Speedy Deletions

That's okay. As long as you've learned from the mistake, that's great. I hope you will continue to patrol new pages. Stay cool, Bmusician 13:32, 20 February 2012 (UTC)

RE: Speedy deletion contested: Torneo di Viareggio 2011

I created two page by mistake: the correct one is Torneo di Viareggio 2011 and is still being edited (it's a stub), so i would appreciated if you wouldn't delete my effort to update the viareggio cup information that on English wikipedia is somewhat sketchy. -- Gp37 17:42, 20 February 2012 (CET)

I'm moving it to userspace so you can work on it there - it's not ready for the main space yet. It's now at User:Gp37/Torneo di Viareggio 2011. This'll take the pressure off you a bit. Cheers. Peridon (talk) 16:54, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
It's fine, I will finish there, but how can I move it back where it belongs when it's finished? Just by creating the page? For the relevance of the page itself, I was just compiling the 2011 season (and soon wanted to do the 2012) of a tournement already published on wikipedia, check here. Protection Forest

I've declined your speedy as it's not an A7. People are in A7s - individuals, companies, knitting circles, global conspiracies, etc - and named animals are too. Species don't come into A7, though. For some reason, web content does, but not forests. This is referenced, and has articles on the French, German and Polish Wikipedias, so I would presume there is notability. I've added 'stub', and gone into the other three languages to get them (and ours) up to date on the transwiki links. The CSD categories can be confusing. Took me a while to get them straight without a cribpage open to refer to... Peridon (talk) 16:47, 20 February 2012 (UTC)

Same with Urban iconography - but you'd tagged it before I gave you the tip above. If you want any help over what is and isn't covered by CSD - and a lot isn't - just let me know. Peridon (talk) 19:42, 20 February 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Gora Chakk Wala

Hello Green-Halcyon. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Gora Chakk Wala, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The article makes a credible assertion of importance or significance, sufficient to pass A7. Thank you. ϢereSpielChequers 01:43, 21 February 2012 (UTC)

Summaries

Could you please start adding summaries to the edits you make. It help people know what you changed when the article shows up on their watchlist. It also help when looked at a edit history to find when a change was made. Bgwhite (talk) 06:13, 21 February 2012 (UTC)

Check my contributions, i always leave an edit summary where relevant
I did, that is why I'm asking you to add a summary. Placing a speedy deletion tag is certainly warranted to add a summary. You should always leave a summary. Bgwhite (talk) 09:38, 21 February 2012 (UTC)

Okay then, gotcha

Hammerkit

To propose an article for deletion, you need to use {{subst:proposed deletion}} - short: {{subst:prod}} - rather than {{proposed deletion}}. As a parameter for the template, you should give a reason why you believe that the article should be deleted, so the full syntax is {{subst:prod|Explanation}}. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 17:44, 21 February 2012 (UTC)

Candidate genes in plants

The page isn't really nonsense; the speedy deletion tag {{db-nonsense}} should only be used if the article is blatantly incoherent, meaningless, or untrue (though in the latter case, consider using {{db-hoax}} instead). I have moved to the creator's user space as a draft: User:Scienticologist/Candidate genes in plants. (As I had explained on the user's talk page, it was just a malformatted table of plant genes.) - Mike Rosoft (talk) 17:55, 21 February 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Christian Rock Hard Screen Shot.jpg

A tag has been placed on File:Christian Rock Hard Screen Shot.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. About the "lacking indication of notability", the article clearly shows how the subject passes WP:ANYBIO#1: The person has received a well-known and significant award or honor and Silver Ribbon and David di Donatello are significant awards. The article is a stub, so clearly needs to be expanded, but the notability appears met, and stubs are allowed in WP. Cavarrone (talk) 11:08, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

Removing AfD template

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Lina Polito. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. This is an automated message from a bot about this edit, where you removed the deletion template from an article before the deletion discussion was complete. If this message is in error, please report it. Snotbot  t • c »  14:27, 3 March 2012 (UTC)

Lina Polito

You cannot remove the tag from the article before the AfD is closed. To retract the nomination, it is sufficient you post a message in the AfD in which you express your intention to withdraw the nomination. If you want you can also close the discussion with a "not-admin closure". Bye, Cavarrone (talk) 14:31, 3 March 2012 (UTC)

Lucien (Mirbeau)

Hello, Green-Halcyon ! I don't understand at all why you want to delete this new page, about a very rich and original character, in Dans le ciel, novel by the French writer Octave Mirbeau, which has been discovered and published 22 years ago. It's a very important novel for history of literature and history of art, one of the richest ones in fin-de-siècle literature : Lucien, the painter, has been inspired by Van Gogh himself, a little bit after his death. It seems you don't know French literature nor history of art ! Dans le ciel has been translated in spanish and english, polish and hungarian translations will be published during the next months. Dans le ciel is studied in French departments in many universities around the world ; historians of art, especially specialists of Claude Monet and Vincent Van Gogh, are interested, of course, by this character and his tragedy. Deletion of the page is absolutely unjustifiable ! Please remove the tag ! Thanks ! Oktavas (talk) 10:11, 1 March 2012

My knowledge of french literature or art is not the point. Im sure the book itself is of great literary value and deserves its own encyclopaedic article, but I dont think a character from the book does. Fictional characters should only have their own page if they're truly notable, (i.e. James Bond, Frodo Baggins, Oliver Twist) Perhaps you should consider merging the character page into the novel's article here [1]. Aunty-S (talk) 10:35, 1 March 2012 (UTC)

Your ignorance isn't and can't be an argument ! ! ! It looks like a joke, when you compare Lucien, Mirbeau and Van Gogh with James Bond and Frodo Baggins... It's really unbelievable ! But that's a very bad joke, indeed ! Once more, I ask you to remove the tag : deletion is absolutely unjustifiable ! Such a stupid and incredible censorship would be very bad for Wikipedia reputation. Oktavas (talk) 13:28, 1 March 2012 (UTC)

Ughh... Go complain to an admin if feel that strongly about. Or do as I suggested, merge it with the book's article. This is in no way censorship, if you want to add info about a fictional universe, go and edit one of the wikias. Aunty-S (talk) 13:51, 1 March 2012 (UTC)

This article should not be deleted as it is of the utmost importance for both art historical and literary scholars. As an academic who has written her doctoral dissertation on the figure of Lucien as the embodiment of the artistic ideals of Monet and Van Gogh, I strongly contest this deletion. By deleting this article, Wikipedia would be doing an incredible disservice to academics, art lovers, students and the general public.

I have no doubt that you are an expert on the subject. But I'm afraid that few fictional characters are notable enough to have their own article. If you are worried about any inconvenience it may cause for those interested in the subject, copy and paste the info about Lucien to the Dan le ciel page. Aunty-S (talk) 14:47, 1 March 2012 (UTC)

Your jokes are definitively bad, and not funny at all ! How can you write seriously there are few "fictional characters notable enough to have their own article"? In English, there are 226 articles in the category "literary characters" : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Literary_characters ! Most of them are completely unknown... Please, have also a look to this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Fictional_characters_by_medium. I repeat : such a stupid censorship by a person without competence is very bad for Wikipedia reputation and completely counterproductive ; deletion of this page is absolutely unjustifiable ! Oktavas (talk) 16:39, 1 March 2012 (UTC)

I'll ask you now to refrain from mocking me in your comments. I picked 4 characters at random from the list you posted me, and found every one of them to be from a significant book with a quite informative article. The article for Dan le ciel is fairly short, why not add a section about the characters to flesh it out. I also noticed that 2 other users agree with me that Lucien does not deserve a page. I will place a notability tag on the page at least, as the character is very clearly not a notable one. Aunty-S (talk) 17:32, 1 March 2012 (UTC)

I agree completely with Oktavas: the category "literary caracters" contains many names I never heard of; is this a reason for going on destroying these articles? There are many people who might actually be interested in the page on "Lucien".Thalialena (talk) 17:23, 1 March 2012 (UTC)

I will have a longer look at the list then. Just because YOU haven't heard of them does not mean they lack notability. Aunty-S (talk) 18:25, 1 March 2012 (UTC)

I seriously suggest that you (Green-Halcyon) should stick to commenting on what you know and understand well. The Wikipedia category 'literary characters' contains many fictional personnages of whom I have personally 'never heard', but I would not venture to show myself up by making my own ignorance the yardstick of whether they should appear on Wikipedia or not. I have never heard, for example, of any of the musicians about whom you write so knowledgeably at other times; but that does not mean that I should rush to query what you write, or to ask for speedy deletion of it. I happen to agree with most of the other contributors to this talk page, that Lucien is an extremely interesting (and indeed seminal) character who richly merits the authoritative write-up he has received. You should do yourself the justice of admitting you are exceeding your competence in unjustifiably interfering with this valuable posting. Come on, G-H: do the right thing, and withdraw the tag! Richard Middleham (talk) 18:18, 1 March 2012 (UTC)Richard Middleham

I took the liberty of adding all you need to know about lucien to the Dans le ciel page. Fictional characters no longer fall under the speedy deletion category, so I admit, I made a mistake of nominating it for one. I now nominated it to be discussed by other editors, on whether it should be deleted or not. Aunty-S (talk) 18:25, 1 March 2012 (UTC)

Is it the beginning of wisdom ? You recognize now you aren't competent at all in history of art and literature. As for me, I an not competent at all in rap nor in rock... You must now be logical and remove all these stupid tags. Thanks in advance ! Oktavas (talk) 19:05, 1 March 2012 (UTC)

Again, this has nothing to do with art. If you must know, I am actually quite competent in history of art, and something of a good artist, scoring an A in the subject upon finishing my secondary school education. The tags I will not remove, consensus still may choose for the article to be deleted. Aunty-S (talk) 19:13, 1 March 2012 (UTC)

Censorship is inadmissible, Lucien is realy a great character of XIX Century litterary. Utrillo — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.13.145.127 (talk) 20:42, 1 March 2012 (UTC)

Listen Octavas, I know that last comment was by you, there is know way another user would comment on my page and misuse the words "censorship" and "inadmissible" like you do... and I have a gut feeling that Thaliana is you too. Stop filling my page with your puppet garbage. Aunty-S (talk) 00:24, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

Of course, Green-Halcyon, I am not Utrillo (?), nor Thaliana, but I agree with everybody who has been scandalized by your stupid and bureaucratic censorship. You want to delete a good and important article without any reason, while there are 226 pages about "literary characters" mostly unknown. It's unbearable and unjustifiable, indeed ! That's also very bad and counterproductive for english Wikipedia reputation : it'a pity ! Now, that's enough : I have no time to loose with your very bad jokes. Oktavas (talk) 08:11, 2 March 2012 (UTC) N.B. For your information : yesterday, "Lucien (Mirbeau)" received 277 visits...

Green-Halcyon, you shouldn't doubt the existence of REAL people, even if you don't admit the interest of some fictitious ones :) And please, read more carefully: I am not Thaliana, but Thalialena! Must I add I am not Oktavas?Thalialena (talk) 10:07, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

Okay, guess thats why you're blocked for Sock Puppetry then XD Aunty-S (talk) 12:50, 5 March 2012 (UTC)

Emily Williams (architect)

Hello Green-Halcyon. Thanks for being so attentive to my recent articles. I'm rather surprised that you listed this for rapid deletion rather than for deletion on the basis of a discussion. Emily Williams was one of some 50 or 60 women who pioneered the role of women in American architecture at the beginning of the 20th century. As part of our contribution to Women's Month (i.e. this March), some of us are trying to cover those women architects who were instrumental in extending the profession. If you think Williams should be deleted, then probably at least some 20 or 30 more articles on women architects would come into the same category. You can see the complete set at List of female architects. If you look at the history list, you will see which articles have been written over the past couple of weeks. In my case it includes: Inger_and_Johannes_Exner, Katharine_Budd, Simone_Guilissen, Dita_Roque-Gourary, Katherine_Briçonnet, Manuelle_Gautrand, Odile_Decq, Françoise-Hélène_Jourda, Édith_Girard and many more. Hope we can discuss this before they all disappear. Within a few days, I hope to write an article on Women architects which should make the history a little more clear. - Ipigott (talk) 18:20, 5 March 2012 (UTC) Sorry I only saw that article as one piece, when I was patrolling new pages. It doesn't mention any reason as to why the subject is important, so I nominated it for deletion. Perhaps you should explain why Emily is a notable personality in architecture, all I got from the article was that she was a fairly successful female architect for her time. Is she a recognised pioneer for female architects who followed her? if so, mention it. Aunty-S (talk) 19:36, 5 March 2012 (UTC)

I've already added two more sections to the article which should help. I understand why you questioned the article as there are indeed many new biographies which hardly deserve inclusion. In this case, though, you could have been alerted to Williams' importance from the term "pioneering American architect" in the lead and from the two works quoted in the Literature section. BTW, I see you've only been participating actively in Wikipedia editing since last month. If you ever think I could be of assistance, just let me know. - Ipigott (talk) 21:42, 5 March 2012 (UTC)

Alright then, yeah I'll do that, thanks.

Re: The Marshall Mathers LP

Ok so yea The Marshall Mathers LP is Eminem's second major label studio album, but it is his third in his overall discography. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. It includes the whole part not just one or some that are more mainstream. Besides you only changed one article and it creates a big inconsistency with the others. The Slim Shady LP article still said it is his second album in its main description when you changed The Marshall Mathers LP article. Please do not revert it again. It is correct and accurate and is stated as his third for correct reasons. Banan14kab (talk) 08:49, 6 March 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Dr. Nusbacher (Transexual).jpg

A tag has been placed on File:Dr. Nusbacher (Transexual).jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Stefan2 (talk) 13:51, 8 March 2012 (UTC)

You have been blocked from editing for a short time for your disruption caused by edit warring and violation of the three-revert rule. During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

Additionally, you have misused rollback in a content dispute. I have removed that privilege from this account. Kuru (talk) 02:34, 11 March 2012 (UTC)

I fully deserve the block, put removing the roll back privilege is a little extreme. Ive only used it to it to maintain the quality of the encyclopaedia, and the article in which i broke the 3 revert rule is currently up for discussion about the changes i made, with a few editors agreeing that my revisions of the article were correct. Eminem discography (Very Serious)

OK..I've been patient enough but I think it is time for me to be more candid. Can you please stop changing Eminem's discography to set The Slim Shady LP as his first album when it is indeed his major-label debut? I've read the MTV article you used for reference and it didn't prove a thing. They use a quote from Em's auto-bio The Way I Am which he evens says Infinite was his first album. You think I am basing this all on my own opinion when I am not. The article you uased said very little about The Slim Shady LP and mainly talked about how Infinite is his first so your article actually helps my case. Also you are messing up the chronology for the Eminem discography page. It says he has 7 not 6 albums. So by discounting Infinite you mess that up also. Also the other two articles you used for reference on The Marshall Mathers LP are mistaken. Just because they believe that album to be his second doesn't mean it is true. Very little people knew about Infinite so that is most likely why they said it was his second LP when they are mistaken. WIkipedia is here to be as accurate and encyclopedic as possible. Not merely just echo what anybody says. If you do not reply I will continue to revert your edits. Banan14kab (talk) 00:18, 13 March 2012 (UTC)

I agree completely. Your edits have been extremely disruptive and verge on edit warring. In fact, when you say that Infinite "doesn't really count" because very few copies were released, it sounds like you are the one basing these facts on opinion. The source you provided actually says that Infinite was his first album. That means that The Slim Shady LP would be his second album. The Slim Shady LP is his major-label debut, which means that it is the first album he released on a major label, but it is still his second album. Please do not change it any more. Basilisk4u (talk) 05:59, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
The references I provided are respected and credible sources. And the MTV source actually says Slim Shady LP is the debut, read it properly Banan14kab. I suggest we put it up for discussion on some board. Until then I am changing it back, nothing personal meant by it, but you cant just simply say my sources are mistaken and revert my edits. Aunty-S (talk) 09:17, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
Here I put it up for discussion(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Albums#Album_article_style_guide). BTW, I'm from Ireland, so keep in mind that the time zones between us could be quite different. Also Im sorry if I got a bit personal earlier on. Aunty-S (talk) 09:20, 13 March 2012 (UTC)

March 2012

This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. Hasteur (talk) 18:59, 13 March 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for April 30

Hi. When you recently edited Rob Kelly (Rapper), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Slaine (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of published material to articles as you apparently did to James II of England‎. Please cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Fat&Happy (talk) 22:50, 2 May 2013 (UTC)

For Gods sake man, you do not need to be so anal about small bits of information like that. Even the Battle of the Boyne page is in agreement with me on this one, and Im sure if just google it, you'd find another few sources that also are. Reason for me not citing them is that I dont want to use lesser reputable sources on a featured article Green-Halcyon (formerly Aunty-S) (talk) 10:57, 3 May 2013 (UTC)
