Speedy deletion nomination of Jasrangi edit

Hello Greatthinker2310,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Jasrangi for deletion, because it doesn't seem to have any encyclopedic content.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. BeowulfBrower (talk) 07:29, 28 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Jasrangi edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Jasrangi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. If it were up to me your article would have been summarily deleted and then protected from recreation because it fails in every sense of the word to assert notability required to remain on Wikipedia. The best I could do would be to move it to the draft area to permit you work on the article in peace, but as long as it remains in the articles space as it it will be deleted, and I say that not to be mean, but as a statement of fact. Its Sunday morning, and the article is going to be deleted. TomStar81 (Talk) 07:04, 29 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Ok...Can u please tell me what citations do u want me to provide.....I have used some reputed newspaper articles as citations and further the i have provided a video link in which the creator of this new musical style of singing has himself spoken of how he created this new form and how is it gaining popularity..If u could please tell me what extra citaions are to be used and what exactly am i missing.....I would be really indebited and grateful to u.....

It has nothing to do with citations, it has to do with the fact that you haven't told anybody why we should care about the subject. Has it:
  • Been mentioned in the Guinness book of world records?
  • won an award for best performance?
  • Been seen in a major motion picture?
  • Been preformed for world leader at the UN?
If the answer to any of the above is yes (and at present it is not) then the article lacks notability as defined by our guidelines, then it can stay (after a substantial rewrite), otherwise the article is judged unneeded and therefore deleted. TomStar81 (Talk) 08:37, 29 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Ok this is what you want...I will tell you.....See Indian Classical music deals with Ragas......And traditionally any singer or instrumentalist plays only one Raga in one particular performance...This has been the case since past 1000 years....Even when there is a duet performance both the singer sing one particular Raga.... What Pandit Jasraj did is that he created a specific form of duet singing in which a male and female singer is involved and both of them sing two different Ragas in one performance....and that duet singing form is named Jasrangi. This came in nobody's mind from past so many years.... So i find it important from the point of view of Indian Music.... Still if u feel my article is not important you can delete that....No problem... Or if you want me to include this in my page....u can tell me... Thanks for providing clarification.

  • If that's the case then perhaps you addition would do better as a subsection of the Music of India article as opposed to a stand alone article. I can't promise anything, but if you raise the matter of including Jasrangi in the article on the article's talk page they may be receptive of giving you some space for the mention - provided you can prove to them that its notable. Wikipedia and copyright edit

Hello Greatthinker2310, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Darbhanga Gharana has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Doug Weller talk 18:21, 26 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

More copyvio and what seems to be a problem understanding the sources edit

I've just removed more copyvio from Mithila Makhaan and deleted and changed material about the producer - I'm wondering if you have difficulty reading English which is resulting in your copy and paste edits and misunderstanding of your English sources. Doug Weller talk 20:44, 26 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

I am very sorry. Actually i was not aware of Wikipedia Copy/Paste Policy. I assure you that such a thing will never be repeated from my side now that i am aware of all the policies of Wikipedia.

August 2016 edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for violating copyright policy by copying text or images into Wikipedia from another source without verifying permission. You have been previously warned that this is against policy, but have persisted.

Please take this opportunity to be sure you understand our copyright policy and our policies regarding how to use non-free content. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Doug Weller talk 13:44, 30 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

I request you to please lift this block. I had just taken the content from a particular source. The entire content was framed into my own sentence and then put up at Wikipedia. As far as i knew this was allowed. If you feel there is something wrong i request you to let me know. I shall be be indebited to you.
