Talk pages

Hey - just a quick note about talk page stuff. Yes, it's considered impolite to add a response in the middle of someone elses reply, as was done here. It happens, especially with newer editors. You handled it correctly by moving the comments below yours, but you need to WP:AGF with the editor, which you didn't do. The edit summary was pretty aggressive and hostile, and you've continued on that way. It's extremely likely that the editor just didn't think about it before making the change, and didn't know they shouldn't have done it. An edit summary saying you refactored his reply to pull it out of the middle of yours and place it afterwards, plus a quick comment on their talk page probably would have handled it quickly and with no added drama. I haven't seen them do that again on the talk page. I did leave them a note on their page, explaining about not putting replies in the middle again. This is a contentious issue, and getting upset and/or aggressive over something that's fairly minor isn't good. That just leads to drama and worse. Ravensfire (talk) 17:31, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. The file File:Ted Ansani Project - Throttle and Piston - 2000.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Decorative use of non-free cover art in Ted Ansani. Non-free album covers are generally considered acceptable to use when they are used as the primary means of indentification in a stand-alone article about the album, but require a much stronger justification (see WP:NFC#cite_note-3) when used in other article. This particular album cover is not itself the subject of any sourced critical commentary within the article and does not need to be seen by the reader for them to understand the single sentence written about the album.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist.
