Request for help editing the Siberian Ice Maiden entry.
Hi Gourami Watcher!
I was hoping you could help edit the entry for the [Siberian Ice Maiden]. Despite using Wikipedia for years and years, I am an awful editor and can't figure out the technical/etiquette rules. I really don't want to mess anything up, or write a shoddy edit.
My qualm with SIM's entry is the controversy section. It says (paraphrasing here) that the Altai people are upset over SIM's features, and the entire entry gives the impression that SMI was an ancestor of the Altai. But the Russian Academy of Sciences released information after a DNA test of the SIM which shows that she belonged to an entirely different ethnic group. This was printed in a Siberian Times article dated 2012.
Does this seem like enough to edit the section in about the controversy? Apologies for being so green here! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Plasticmoth (talk • contribs) 19:07, 9 March 2014 (UTC)
- I'd be happy to help. Just give me a few days. :)--GouramiWatcher (?) 13:35, 10 March 2014 (UTC)

Your signature
Hey there! While there's little wrong with the growing popularity of text-shadowed signatures, yours literally bleeds into surrounding text and effects legibility. Perhaps consider decreasing the offset values? Thanks — MusikAnimal talk 02:31, 26 August 2014 (UTC)
- Done! How does this look? --GouramiWatcher(?) 02:45, 26 August 2014 (UTC)
- Not bad! The colours may be a bit dark, clashing with the actual text, but that could just be my eyes :) Thanks and cheers — MusikAnimal talk 02:55, 26 August 2014 (UTC)
I've blocked for edit warring / disruptive editing, but I don't see the sockpuppetry. Feel free to open a case, or if you can provide some concrete evidence I can take a look myself. Thanks — MusikAnimal talk 20:10, 18 September 2014 (UTC)
Autopatrolled
Hello, this is just to let you know that I have granted you the "autopatrolled" permission. This won't affect your editing, it just automatically marks any page you create as patrolled, benefiting new page patrollers. Please remember:
- This permission does not give you any special status or authority
- Submission of inappropriate material may lead to its removal
- You may wish to display the {{Autopatrolled}} top icon and/or the {{User wikipedia/autopatrolled}} userbox on your user page
- If, for any reason, you decide you do not want the permission, let me know and I can remove it
- If you have any questions about the permission, don't hesitate to ask. Otherwise, happy editing! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 15:22, 15 October 2014 (UTC)
Sorry for bothering you, but would you be interested in getting a copy of the book on the case ("Twilight of Innocence: The Disappearance of Beverly Potts") so we can use it to expand the article. I don't have much money and I know you would want a comprehensive article on Beverly. Paul Austin (talk) 18:52, 23 October 2014 (UTC)
- I can see if I can find it at a library or possibly online, but I'll consider buying it if I can't find it. --GouramiWatcher(?) 19:04, 23 October 2014 (UTC)
Good work
Really good work on so many crime articles. And thank you for adding those photos on the Oba Chandler article. I am surprised that I have never seen you before this, anyway I am also into doing crime articles. And I find your work to be very interesting. Thank you.--BabbaQ (talk) 13:12, 31 October 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you! I'd suggest joining Wikipedia:WikiProject Crime if you haven't already, as not much has been going on with that group for a while. I'm glad you like my contributions! --GouramiWatcher(?) 00:54, 2 November 2014 (UTC)

The nomination has issues; comment there. --George Ho (talk) 06:56, 18 November 2014 (UTC)
You are not alone
Hello, Gourami,
Having blundered my own way through my own first few DYk noms, I know your feelings. At least you didn't foul up the coding while you were at it, like a certain guy I know....
Be of good cheer. With a few more DYK noms under your belt, you will come to wonder why all that beginning fuss.

Von Sydow
My article Von Sydow murders will appear at the top of the DYK section in a few days :)--BabbaQ (talk) 21:31, 22 November 2014 (UTC)
Hi.
I've created Murder of Kylie Maybury. the 30th anniversary article i put in the external links has Kylie's picture... I don't think it would be copyrighted by the Maybury family, especially as they are still desperate to find Kylie's rapist-killer. Should i include her photo in the article?
