editI've been on Wikipedia for about two years, but I only started editing big-time since last summer. You can use the user talk section for a little chat, but it mostly used for getting in contact with another user. They don't have smilies on Wikipedia, which is a shame ;) My userpage is quite complicated, although I might be able to help you with it. By the way, if you want to create a link to another article, put four square brackets around the words when you're editing the page, like this: [[Friends]].
With new articles, check that an article hasn't already been created on the subject. If it hasn't (which is unlikely!), type it in the search box, press Search and you'll see a red link to the article's name. Click it on, and you'll create a new page there. Have fun editing!
