Stainforth, Shining Music New Stuff

edit

Has Gordon Stainforth's private diary been published? I would LOVE to have this info in Wikipedia, but the criterion for inclusion of material is "verifiability, not truth". If you have access to the diary, but the public does not, I'm afraid this violates the Wikipedia policy of "no original research". I've left it in for now.--WickerGuy (talk) 17:16, 29 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Ah, I wondered why my correction had been removed! No, my 1980 diary when I was working on The Shining has not been published. All I can do at the moment is tell the truth about the way the music tracks were selected. That speculation about 'The Dream of Jacob' and other tracks in The Shining referring to the Holocaust is completely false, because I chose that piece of music and Stanley didn't even know what it was called when he OK'd it. The piece used in the film was anyway called 'The Awakening of Jakob' conducted by the composer in 1974 (other later versions called it 'The dream of Jacob').
