All the lyrics you just posted are copyrighted off the UMinnesota webpage. You have a reference, but that doesn't allow you to copy and paste the lyrics onto Wikipedia. Unless you can prove that they're not under copyright, they're going to be deleted again. Another solution would to be to link to lyrics instead of copying them. University of Minnesota Marching Band edit

I've created a stub article for the University of Minnesota Marching Band that I would love to see expanded upon. I would encourage you to expand it.. possibly with the help of Gopher Backer. Being a Marching Illini alum, I don't have all the background needed to make a great page for any other individual band, but I would like to see all of the Big 10 bands with excellent pages. -- Upholder 17:13, 25 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Welcome aboard edit

Sounds like we have a lot of the same interests, it'll be nice to have another person to provide input to the articles about the U! I'd been thinking about eventually trying to expand the Marching Band article, but I was only in it for a year, so if you have any ideas have at it. I also hope to re-do the Williams Arena article a little as well. If anything comes out of that group you suggested I'll probably join, but I've only been doing this a few months so I'm not sure what the procedures are for that or anything. Orphaned fair use image (Image:FloydofRosedale.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:FloydofRosedale.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

Western Collegiate Hockey Association men's champions tournament locations edit

I was wondering if you know of or know where to get a list of the sites of the WCHA post season tourney since 60? Smith03 22:46, 22 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

thanks I sent an email this morning to the league office to see if they would/could provide a list of the sites. yes it would be interesting to have a history of how the tourney has changed over the years. one possible way that two teams could have tied for the championship if you had 4 teams in a round robin tourney where ties are allowed and each team plays the other 3 teams. you could have two teams finish 2-0-1. Minneapolis edit

Hello. Does Minneapolis, Minnesota look all right to you? Please pardon this form letter that is going to about a dozen people whose user name I recognize from some Wikipedia edit (could have been recent or in the past year). I expect to close peer review by nominating Minneapolis to featured article candidate in a day or two unless other editors have more work they'd like to do. In case the links help, places to make a difference are to edit in place, comment in the peer review, comment on the talk page, support or oppose when and if it gets to featured article candidate, or work on a child article linked from the following template. -Susanlesch 23:53, 10 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Little Brown Jug edit

I reverted your last change to Little Brown Jug (football) because you lacked a citation for stating that this trophy is the oldest in college football. It's also not a neutral statement. I tend to disagree with that statement, considering all of the other trophies and their respective histories listed on List of NCAA college football rivalry games. There are many that pre-date the Little Brown Jug. -- Billma 15:47, 17 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:2003frozenfour.gif edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:2003frozenfour.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ~ Wikihermit 00:29, 7 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Quick note on the above image edit

Hi, I noticed you placed in the Fair Use template --but be careful to make sure you pull the complete template (as annoying as it can be, sometimes copying a template from another page may leave something out --I've found that out after the fact as well). The template you used was missing the "| Article =" line where you throw in the article name its being used in to complete the template. I went ahead and added it. Since I support the use of Fair Use images I wanted to give you the heads up for any other images you might upload. Take care! --Bobak 16:49, 30 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

2003 WCHA Men's Ice Hockey Tournament edit

This article that you recently created has several inconsistencies in data, including:

  • The title refers to the 2003 tournament, yet the first sentence says 2008.

2008–09 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey season standings templates edit

Hey Gopherbone. Just wanted to let you know that I undid your edits to the six 2008–09 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey season standings templates. You moved the point total to the first column and I wanted to explain why I undid this. It essentially comes down to consistency. It is commonly accepted that the GP-W-L-T-PTS-GF-GA format is the most widespread standings format for ice hockey. It is used in essentially all leagues and to change the format for the NCAA could confuse readers. This format is also used on a handful of NCAA conference websites as well as USCHO.com, the top online college hockey source. Further, all of the other NCAA DI ice hockey standings templates currently use this format as well. Anyhow, let me know if you have any concerns about this. Clearly, both formats are used at college hockey websites, so it's a matter of choosing which one works best, but I because this particular format is so widespread in ice hockey leagues, we should use it for consistency. – Nurmsook! talk... 18:10, 7 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
