RFA now open edit

I have (finally) finished my nom page, and it is ready for action (and, apparently, someone has already cast a vote)! It's somewhere over here. BTW, your welcome for the category. --FastLizard4 (TalkLinksSign) 05:49, 10 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Oh, sweet! Did you transclude it or made it so it expires exactly 7 days you started? -Goodshoped 06:19, 10 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Got 'em! Yes, I did all of that, too. --FastLizard4 (TalkLinksSign) 06:43, 10 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Personal attack? edit

Whoa, dude, relax. That wasn't a personal attack. The guy was right; I was a little too quick on the block button, and the situation will be dealt with. Don't worry about it. GlassCobra 02:13, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Oh, sorry. The IP responded again, so I responded to him over there. And I apologize for the inconvenience. -Goodshoped 02:15, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
No worries, I know it's tough not to jump down the throats of the IPs sometimes. On an unrelated note, do you really need all those boxes up at the top there? It makes it hard to get to the actual content of your talk page. Just a thought. GlassCobra 02:18, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
If you think that's funny, check out this copy! -Goodshoped 02:19, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

I agree with Glasscobra here, my comment could hardly be described as a personal attack. You guys need to be more patient with IP editors i think; after all that's where all future contributors start out isn't it?! --79.72.6.65 02:22, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, that's true. I've come to closer calls before, just check out my archives. Anyway, I apologize and I hope no harm done. -Goodshoped 02:25, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Frankly, I am quite surprised to read this comment from you. Now let's be clear on one thing, I am not personal attacking you by nominating the articles you created for deletion. Please read about that here. I nominated them for deletion because I think that the city program is not notable. Also, as you probably know, every deletion need to go through the deletion process and discussion. I can't just delete them myself. Please do not confuse deletion with destruction. All deletion must followed guideline Wikipedia:Deletion policy. If you have question, please see Wikipedia:Why was my page deleted?. If you feel deletion is unjust, try Wikipedia:Deletion review. Chris! ct 03:05, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

OK. Now I understand. But, I know that. And I also wonder this: How come you've been here since 2005, yet you haven't been nominated for adminship? -Goodshoped 03:56, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
There is no requirement that users nominate for adminship. Your editing seems to be under the impression that Wikipedia is like a game and the mission is to gain adminship, which is quite obviously not the case. Some of our best contributors, Chrishomingtang included, are non-administrators and many don't desire the extra tools. Daniel 08:20, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Quite frankly, I would like to be an admin. :) Chris! ct 20:22, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Reply: First to Daniel. Yes I know. I know Wikipedia is not a game, just a privilege. But, for some reason, it is kind of like one because of the levels unlocked. I tried out for an RfA one month ago, and now I found out how hard it is to be a sysop, that's why some users who are sysops left Wikipedia, like this user and this user. I'll stop treating Wikipedia like a game, but I'll still be out hunting vandals! Now, as for Chris, I can either nominate you, or you can do it yourself, and if you would like me to, I'll try looking for others to co-nom you. OK? OK. -Goodshoped 00:37, 12 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

User talk:Melharts‎ edit

While it is Wikipedia tradition to archive rather than blank our user talk pages, users do have a right to blank their talk pages if they choose; the rules do not prohibit it, even if they're blanking legitimate discussion and warnings. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 13:20, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

OK. Thanks for the tip. -Goodshoped 04:33, 12 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

About the WuA page edit

Should I protect it? I mean, I know I won't be able to edit it anymore, but it's for the welfare of the page. --Gp75motorsports 23:38, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

I think you should semi it to prevent it from IPs. -Goodshoped 00:37, 12 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Er. Hi. I just want to check... did you know that only administrators have the 'protect' button? It's right next to 'block.' -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 00:39, 12 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Never mind. -Goodshoped 00:39, 12 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edits edit

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot 06:31, 12 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

My (Remember the dot)'s RfA edit

I never thanked you for participating in my RfA a couple of weeks ago. Thank you for your support, though unfortunately the request was closed as "no consensus". I plan to run again at a later time, and I hope you will support me again then.

Thanks again! —Remember the dot (talk) 06:37, 13 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sweet! You know, depending on the consensus you get mainly rests in your contrib's hands. If you have, say like 3000+ contribs, you'll be able to run again sooner than you think! Anyway, good luck, and you're welcome. -Goodshoped 22:35, 13 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

You're welcome. And I've got something for you too. If you want to know what it is, it is really Husond's derivative work. -Goodshoped 03:51, 14 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Important, please follow this link. edit

I've weeded out another vandal. As you can see, he's made numerous biased edits and threats. It seems to me that he's a Paprika puppet, so I placed a sockpuppet tag on his page. I was about to indef him, but I wanted to see what you thought first. Best, --Gp75motorsports 14:35, 14 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Marlith's Talkpage edit

I got rid of it. The quake hit me about as hard as it hit you. I live out in the sunset so... Marlith T/C 05:41, 15 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Huh, I live over at Nob Hill near Chinatown, so, yeah. And not only that, well, that's OK if you got rid of the blue thing, and I used to have it myself. I got rid of it after complaints from other users that claimed to have their browsers lagging, but, there's something called User's right, so, you could have left it on because it's your userspace, and it's whatever you want to do with it. I chose to get rid of it because it was served to be annoying to them. -Goodshoped 05:50, 15 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Just read the argument on Giove's page and suggest your side to ARBCOM. --Gp75motorsports 15:04, 15 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
