Request reason:

(I may have previously submitted an appeal a few days ago, though I am doing one now as I am unsure if it went through, as I cannot see it). I am requesting to be unblocked as I do not believe that I was involved in any form of sock puppetry. My account was blocked in April 2023, but my last contribution was in November 2022. All of my edits were done independently from any other accounts, so I am unsure why I was blocked. I understand that my account may have been accidentally blocked as collateral damage when other accounts were (probably rightfully) blocked. I did edit articles related to similar topics, with similar sources, which could be a reason why administrators believed that it was part of a sock puppet scheme, though this was only because of my interest in the topics and due to my appreciation for sources that offered a broad range of accurate information. When conducting these edits, and since my last contribution in November, I did not believe that I had broken any policy, and it seems as if I did not (at least intentionally) and was likely looped in with other users who did. I now understand the sock puppetry policy, and if unblocked I will not engage in any form of it. I'm an avid Wikipedia user, I believe that I have a plethora of knowledge to spread, and I have a passion for sharing ideas and information, so I would love the opportunity to be able to edit Wikipedia pages again.

Decline reason:

So. I'm not convinced you are the same person as Nationals01. Technical evidence is unclear on this point. However, I am convinced you are editing entirely inappropriately, in a manner identical to that abusive user. I also see you set up a   Confirmed sockpuppet account, Infospreader3. Your combination of inappropriate edits, confirmed sockpuppetry, and identically inappropriate behaviour to that of previously blocked users makes this a pretty easy decline. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

@The Wordsmith:, mind elaborating a bit here? This account doesn't show up at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Nationals01/Archive and I cannot immediately see a direct connection. On the other hand, it looks like these accounts are adding sources that fail WP:RS and indeed sites that may be run by the same group, so maybe that was it? --Yamla (talk) 15:27, 1 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Yamla: I try to avoid going too far in depth with the behavioral evidence that identifies socks on-wiki, for WP:BEANS reasons. I'll email you momentarily with the evidence. The WordsmithTalk to me 22:09, 1 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
@The WordsmithIs there any chance that you would be able to share this behavioral evidence with me as well? I am confused as to what exactly I did wrong, especially since I was not included in the Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Nationals01/Archive page. I would love to know what I need to avoid moving forward, assuming that it would be possible to have my page reinstated or allow me to make a new one. Goluce (talk) 15:22, 2 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
If Yamla believes this was a false positive and unblocks, then yes I will share with you as well. I don't think I was wrong on this one though, so I don't want to give who I believe is a sockmaster information on how to avoid getting caught next time.
