Yes, as unbelieveable as it may seem, the stands weren't full on opening night. I'll help you out with the full quote from the article, which I guess you couldn't find -- "Although it would have been possible to accommodate fifteen hundred more fans, the management was satisfied with the large attendance, one which augurs well for the future. There were many who remained away because they labored under the impression that they could not gain admittance. They won't make that error again." As for your comment about MLG Ventures existing after 1994 [1], you might want to do more research on that—perhaps starting with the dozen or so stories referring to it in the Star in 1996. --Walor 07:42, 20 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Walor,

MLG didn't have standing room when it opened I don't know if you were the person who originally had that listed, but it's wrong. The capacity was less than 14 000. I have photographs from the opening game and even that shows not one seat empty.

Anyway, MLG Ventures was created solely for the takeover of MLGL. As is noted on the Ontatio Securities Commission Website MLG Venture was amalgamated into Maple Leaf Gardens Holdngs when the takeover was successful. Luckily I corrected the original article that did not even mention the ownership structure involving MLG Holdings and MLGL. In fact the original article stated that is was MLG Ventures that existed until '03 which is clearly incorrect since it was MLG Holdings that Stavro controlled up until the day he sold.
