Hey, what's up Godot, I saw your article at User:Portraits on U.S. Bank Notes, looks great. I'm pretty sure you meant to move it into the article space, right? (That move tool is so confusing I'm pretty sure I've done this myself a few times). I can either move it back into your userspace, or if you want I can move it into the article space for you now (or you can). What do you think? (If I don't hear from you in a bit I'll just figure something out). Peace, delldot ∇.

Er, actually I went ahead and moved it to List of people on United States Bank Notes. Let me know what you think! Peace, delldot ∇. 22:12, 24 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
I think this info might be nicer as a table, let me know if you want help organizing it that way. Peace, delldot ∇. 22:30, 24 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
Hey again, I replied to your message on my talk page. Peace, delldot ∇. 22:37, 24 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
Hey, sorry for snooping, I just looked at your contributions to see if you were around at the moment, I left you a reply on my talk page and wasn't sure if you'd seen it. I saw your work in your sandbox, I put colons before each of the categories in your sandbox so that the page links to those cats but is not included in them. (That way user pages don't show up in the article categories). When you move the article to the mainspace, you can take out the colons. Peace, delldot ∇. 00:03, 26 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of The National Currency Foundation edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on The National Currency Foundation, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Cindy(talk to me) 10:10, 26 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

List of people on United States Bank Notes edit

Hey, I replied to your message on my talk page. Peace, Peace, delldot ∇. 19:29, 29 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Just to let you know, I assumed that Godot13/sandbox List of people on United States Bank Notes (retired original), which you created was supposed to be a user subpage of yours, so I've moved it to User:Godot13/sandbox List of people on United States Bank Notes (retired original). Let me know if I was incorrect and we can sort it out. Cheers! "Pepper" @ 21:54, 29 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

If that means that page is sort of inactive that is correct. I am replacing the live content of the active article with a completely reformatted table and wanted to save a version of the original somewhere... Thanks!Godot13 (talk) 22:06, 29 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
Kind of... You can pretty much put whatever you want in a user subpage, which in your case is any page which is User:Godot13/xxxxxxxx where the xxxxxxxx is the name of the page. For example, I have a list of articles I've created at User:Pepper/Created and my to do list at User:Pepper/to do, etc. The page that you created, because it didn't have "User:" in front of it, was technically an article. "Pepper" @ 23:57, 29 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
Understood, and thank you for fixing that!Godot13 (talk) 00:00, 30 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Welcome edit

Hi Godot13,

I saw that you've been hit with a bucnh of messages, but not yet been properly welcomed. I've placed a weclome message at the top of your talk page with some handy links to an editor new to contributing to Wikipedia. They should help answer some of your questions. But if you are still puzzled, please do not hesitate to contact me, or ask for help from other editors. You can place {{Help me}} on your talk page to signal you need assistance, and some random editor will try to respond. I arrived here as I saw you struggling a bit with some questions at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The National Currency Foundation. Cheers, and happy editting! -- Whpq (talk) 19:13, 31 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

The formal welcome is much appreciated! Is it possible to move the National Currency Foundation article to a Godot13 User page so it is preserved for future resubmission when it can meet the notability requirement? I do have a question about editing etiquette: if I'm browsing articles and I come across an image which I know I can replace with an identical image of significantly higher resolution/quality, is it appropriate to do so? For an example, see the most recent edit to Seal of the United States Department of the Treasury. Thanks!Godot13 (talk) 22:19, 31 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
You can request userfication of the article. That can be done by an administrator (I'm not an admin), and you can recommend that in the deletion discussion. Given your desire to work on the article, I will amend my recommendation to userfy at the discussion shortly. You may want to go the route of using Articles for Creation which will have some form of editor review when you beleive that your article is ready to be moved back. As for editing etiquette, I'm a big fan of Wikipedia:Be bold. In the particular case you mention with the image, that is a perfectly fine edit which improves the article with a better quality image. Just be aware that you should not do this with non-free images. But don't worry. Be happy. And above all, be bold in your editting. If you screw up, there's always an older version of the article in the history that can be restored. Cheers! -- Whpq (talk) 23:31, 31 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
I can userfy something for you if you need it, just let me know. delldot ∇. 16:39, 2 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
There is something I don't understand, and had difficulty finding clarification in the Wiki guidelines. A "Keep" was applied to the AFD discussion. Does this mean that the discussion is not yet over, or someone is voting to retain the article? If the "Keep" was applied to the article for the duration of the AFD discussion, can I remove it to facilitate userfy (in the case where it is my article, not in general)? Thanks.Godot13 (talk) 20:49, 2 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
Are you referring to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The National Currency Foundation? I see no "keep" being offered in that discussion. You can get more information about AFD discussions at WP:DISCUSSAFD and Wikipedia:Guide to deletion. -- Whpq (talk) 21:01, 2 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
I don't want to cause the text to appear here, but in the first few lines (after the orphan text)in edit view there is something about a "Keep" Perhaps that is part of the AFD and remains hidden for a reason... I'll read the resources you suggested. Thanks.Godot13 (talk) 21:16, 2 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
I think I understand what you are asking about now. Is it this template: {{Old AfD multi|page=The National Currency Foundation|date=26 December 2012|result='''keep'''}}? That is actually a comment imbedded into the AFD template as a convenience for the editor closing the AFD. If the AFD is closed as a "keep", then that template can be cut and paste into the article's talk page to record the result instead of having to type it out by hand and filling in the parameters manually. -- Whpq (talk) 03:01, 3 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hey, sorry, I know I told you I would userfy this no problem, but I think I should wait till this discussion is closed. (It will likely happen within a day). I better not close it myself since you and I are friends so I wouldn't be objective. I'm sure the closing admin will userfy it for you but if they don't I'll check with them to make sure it's ok then userfy it for you if it's no problem. (I'm sure it won't be). Sorry for the bureaucratic runaround. I'm just being careful not to step on any toes. Peace, delldot ∇. 03:54, 3 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

LOL! No worries. I certainly understand bureaucracy and not stepping on toes. All good...

FLC edit

Hi Godot, I apologize for being so tough on you at the FLC. I looked at your past edits and didn't realize you were fairly new here. I really do appreciate your contributions and hope you will continue working on numismatic articles. Without the notes I do think the list is FL quality, but I hope you understand where I'm coming from. If you read through other lists, the purpose of a list is to concisely show the same information for each member. The notes are just fun facts that don't have to do with banknotes and are better left on the person's biography if someone is interested. I see that you want to be more comprehensive and provide background information, but I feel that for a list where the topic is currency appearances, that should be the focus, not just mentioned as the one thing in common. I would not expect full pictures of all the notes as you mentioned, but perhaps you have some specificinformation about why Congress or the Treasury decided to put that person on a banknote. Good luck and happy editing, Reywas92Talk 17:06, 10 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for reaching out. I've read some past FLC reviews and have found it pretty interesting to see the conviction some people have. I've collected NBN for almost 20 years, but have only just started getting into the research, history, and academic side of banknotes. This is just the beginning

Whoa, who knew a smiley face would get plastered THAT big on the page...- Godot13 (talk) 23:30, 10 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Wikiproject edit

I think you should try to engage the people at Wikipedia:WikiProject Numismatics to see if there's enough life there to help with figuring out the best way we can use your image contributions. Currently some of the pages your sticking pictures into are already probably too cluttered with images per our WP:MOS. The ones that are promoted as featured pictures need to be probably given higher priority and others weeded out. Possibly new pages should be created if they don't already exist for specific series or something. Just a thought. It's also possible that the project is mostly dead and noone will respond. Regardless your images should probably be used more and better then they currently are, specifically now that we're promoting several and likely by the quality many of them as featured pictures. The more good homes we can get for them the more featured pictures we can have. ;-) — raekyt 22:30, 16 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • Understood. I have tried to be careful not to add new images in places where it would be too cluttered. There are certainly times where I'm tempted to remove existing images (or else replace them with my scans). I don't know what the policy is for creating galleries on the article pages, or if that is frowned on. I have no problem, over the long-term, creating a gallery-style (or heavily illustrated) article for each area within the National Numismatic Collection (i.e., U.S. Banknotes, Fractional, Confederate, etc.). I have something sort of interim set up on commons at [[1]].--Godot13 (talk) 00:48, 17 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Generally, if your adding a better image, quality, more EV, more relevant, then an existing image it's uncontroversial to remove it. Thats WP:BOLD, just do it. If people have a problem it goes through the WP:BRD cycle, and a WP:CONSENSUS is reached on the article's talk page. As for image galleries, they're generally found upon, per WP:IG. For articles like United States Note is a very broad article, there are a lot of bills that fit that category. Tables like on Federal Reserve Note or Hawaii overprint note along with getting better higher quality scans of each of these examples, many are quite low quality or poor quality bills. — raekyt 02:32, 17 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Extent of your project edit

I presume (maybe incorrectly?) that if you have access to the Smithsonian's collection, that it all can be/will be scanned? In that case we could in theory convert say the lists on United States twenty-dollar bill be converted into a table with an image for every issue? That we can compile list pages of every bill, and I presume this may extend as well to coinage? — raekyt 17:59, 24 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

We think alike ;-) I have already scanned all of the U.S. Banknotes (large and small type), and major types in Fractional and Confederate (a complete typeset). See User:Godot13/sandbox4 for a draft of something I'm working on (I randomly chose silver certificates first)... My "area" is paper and between the varieties of Confederate, Fractional, and the collections of Colonial and Continental (not to mention the 150,000+ BEP proof sheets for National Bank Notes), I probably will not get to coinage in my lifetime --Godot13 (talk) 18:41, 24 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
I'll bump up the image size when the list is ready to go live...--Godot13 (talk) 18:43, 24 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Shame about the coinage. These are very pretty, and the 3 dollar coin could use some nice images. Thanks for all the work though, it's fantastic. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 07:47, 25 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • yea.. but theres >1 million paper currency in the collection. What does it take to be able to get access to digitize these things? I presume they don't just let anyone have access, afterall some of these coins are worth millions each. ;-) — raekyt 12:48, 25 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Need you expertise, format etc etc edit

Hey there, congrats on the support for the Bank Notes article by the way. I created a neutral stub on a part of Exonumia called coal scrip. At the end of May of this year, I get to go to one of the 2, that right, 2 functioning machines that actually issued coal scrip and create some keepsakes. When you read the coal scrip stub, you will see why I need your help. The deal is, I want to document the entire process behind the actual minting and accumulation of coal scrip. I have all of the artifacts, (EXCEPT the machine of course). The subject matter is historical, and can be documented to far beyond a stub. My challenge, I know exactly JACK SQUAT about properly formatting a numisastic(sp) article. ANY help you could provide AFTER I get pics of the machine and its use, would be GREATLY appreciated.Coal town guy (talk) 02:49, 24 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • I'm fairly new and still learning too... I'm happy to help out. I'll be back home on Sunday and will look at the stub you started and see where we can go from there...Take lots of pictures of the coal script machine (up close details of all the working parts, any tags or plates with names, dates, or numbers. I apologize if this is all redundant-- Set your camera (if digital) to the largest file size so you capture the most amount of detail. Keep lighting in mind: avoid taking pictures when the light source is in the camera's view (or directly behind the object your shooting). The more images of different part of the machine and your experience there, the more options for writing it up--Godot13 (talk) 18:03, 24 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

The article List of aircraft accidents and incidents resulting in at least 50 fatalities has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

A new list appears to be a jargon filled duplication of other lists already on wikipedia

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. MilborneOne (talk) 16:33, 5 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • Responses to proposed deletion of this list because it is alleged that it is "a jargon filled duplication of other lists already on wikipedia".
  • This list is far more comprehensive in scope and quantity than most other aviation accident and incident lists.
  • New information, not contained in any other list, has been added.
  • This list has higher sorting functionality than any other I have seen.
  • This list has exhaustive references to both internet databases and national aviation authority original accident and incident reports.
  • Frankly, I think this deletion notice is absurd.--Godot13 (talk) 16:55, 5 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

with WP:Canvassing. I say this because I see your posts here[3], here[4], and here[5] at User Talk pages....William 20:03, 5 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • Thank you for keeping such a watchful eye on me. The first post was to one of the directors of FLC seeking his advice on how to handle the situation and if he could offer any suggestions (e.g., would this effect the outcome of the FLC, etc). The second and third posts were to two users who have been actively reviewing my list in FLC and have made comments that (without solicitation) would directly refute the AfD claims.
  • In addition, other than simply summing up where relevant comments have been made, the extent of my commentary was "Is there anything in addition to my response that I should do?" While I understand that canvassing is not appropriate, I'm not entirely sure that watching where I make posts is any more appropriate. May I suggest assuming just a little good faith?--Godot13 (talk) 20:11, 5 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
Where is the WP:CIVIL from two editors who are using this talk page or the AFD to do personal attacks against me or other aviation editors? We're a trigger happy cabal who commit WP:OWN and make joke nominations. Maybe it is time for someone to take all of you to ANI for violating WP:NPA and in your case canvassing....William 00:37, 6 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • I have been nothing but civil despite the coordinated attack of aviation editors. So your placement of this comment is inappropriate. Now you are threatening me with ANI for making personal attacks and/or canvassing? Or for seeking advice on how to handle a situation I am not familiar with? Tell me, is there a barnstar for driving people away from the Aviation Project?-Godot13 (talk) 00:53, 6 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • You accused me of WP:Wikihounding 'While I understand that canvassing is not appropriate, I'm not entirely sure that watching where I make posts is any more appropriate'. Looking at the edit histories of other editors who work in projects you're interested in isn't wikihounding....William 01:05, 6 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
      • First, I didn't even know there was a term "Wikihounding" and second, when you are alerting me to my posts (in a suggestively accusatory manner) at the same time I've just finished sending them, it's just a bit creepy. Honestly, when I set out to create this list, I wanted to make something better than anything else that was out there. Within my target scope, I think I succeeded. Too bad the senior editors of the aviation project are bent on its destruction. If that's not the case, this whole process (something akin to cross between trial by ordeal/fire and hazing) is a bit sadistic.--Godot13 (talk) 02:19, 6 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • FYI I just took Rambling Man to ANI[6]. He is an administrator....William 02:03, 6 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Your post came in as I was writing mine:FYI I just took Rambling Man to ANI[7]. He is an administrator. Please tell me how your comment can be construed as anything but a threat?--Godot13 (talk) 02:25, 6 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Yes, it's clearly designed to make you feel threatened. The accusations levelled at me at ANI came to nothing mind you, other than to waste a lot of valuable community time, so don't worry too much, it just became another example of "the lady doth protest too much, methinks" and more recent edits have further demonstrated the level of ownership some editors attempt to exercise over the "aviation project" lists. Funny that "boomerang" had been mentioned in later edits! The Rambling Man (talk) 17:02, 6 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
    • To User:WilliamJE, I was actually responding comprehensively to some concerns raised on the talk page of the article in question before ... bang ... AFD. Please familiarise yourself with WP:DEADLINE. Thanks. The Rambling Man (talk) 20:25, 5 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Godot13, in reply to your message, yes, getting involved with aviation articles will doubtless lead you to the cabal that believe they own all aviation articles across Wikipedia, which is a real shame. We had a good start, and even MilbourneOne's comments were being addressed on the talkpage, yet the trigger-happy owners of such articles have deemed this one ready for deletion already. I'm sorry about that, although it's somewhat outside my edit zone. I've had a number of very bad experiences with some editors at the aviation "project", and I suppose I'll just add this to the list. However, the one thing I've distilled out of it which I agree with (and I noted at the FLC) was the fatality %. I'd axe it. In other news, I've yet to do a proper review, so there may be other issues I could find, but the whole AFD thing is a sorry tale of presumed project ownership gone bad. Featured List edit

Thanks for your patience with all of this Godot13 I am sure I have raised everything now (just made some points about the columns) at the FL review. It may be hard to believe but I dont think we are that far of finding a resolution for the few things remaining. I am a bit wary of featured anything as in most cases it is a bit of an insular activity that is then used to beat up the rest of us in other articles, "It must be right it is a feature foo" has been used in the past when clearly it has not been the best examples. So if I dont mention things then it gets enshrined in the "good example". That said most of the guys in the aircraft project will pile in and help improve articles on request, a good example is User:Kyteto and his article of the month where he sets himself a target to improve an article then asks for help from others in the project, we then all use a various sources and skills to improve the article. Thanks again for your patience. MilborneOne (talk) 12:14, 14 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • I understand your concerns now. I am trying (FLC and talkpage suggestions) to make as many people happy as possible with edits. Not everyone will always be happy with changes, including me. During the FLC process I have made changes and alterations that I didn't really want to, but the reasoning made sense so it is done. Also, thank you for participating in the FLC review, it has strengthened the list. I saw that you made some comments there, so I'll respond to them there. Thanks--Godot13 (talk) 18:17, 14 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Forgive my freakness edit

Man... I did not touch your work (I would not dare be this stupid) because here you are king and it's really none of my business how you treat your precious corner of the world, but if you allow me to say something in my defence... the info on the Location column is preventing the table to expand and accommodate the information contained in other parts of the table and make it graphically readable (placing the info to the center makes reading more pleasant as well). The more info we apply to the table, the worse it is (that special collection.net link reads access denied, so there was nothing I could do running the reflink). For instance: "Blue Grass Airport is a public airport located in Fayette County, Kentucky, United States, 4 miles west of the central business district of the city of Lexington." So, there's no need to add anything else than Blue Grass Airport, which is what matters after all. I don't know if other names such as Naval Air Engineering Station Lakehurst will fit in a minor space, but you could try to shorten long names, avoiding redirects of course. I also took a look on your sandbox 4 (awesome man, simply awesome! Neat and concise!) and noted that the reverse of those bills are placed under the obverse, there being no need for a Portrait column once that info could go to the notes section. Yes, how about trying to place the reverse to the right and narrow the notes column in order to make a ref group number fit? You could like this expand the notes section down by giving yourself more room to write as much info there as you see fit. Krenakarore TK 14:01, 15 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

It's serious now... I'm having problems as for how to fill in a cell with color in a wikitable. I've tried many things, but to no avail. For instance, the first title in the GE column should have only one square instead of three. Op. 7 has seven subtitles. The GE column should have only one square, but it has seven ! Placing a rowspan solves the problem as for the number of squares, but not when I use a temp:cell. It's in my sandbox. Can you find me a solution ? Krenakarore TK 14:18, 16 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for your help on the citations/references. I've never really used color (at least not on purpose) so I'm not sure I can help, but I'll take a more detailed look later today...--Godot13 (talk) 14:50, 16 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
Don't mention it, I'm the one who's learning from you. Thank you once again ! Krenakarore TK 17:22, 16 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Lead para edit

Perhaps keeping the numbers a little more vague (i.e. there have been at least 512 ... rather than "precisely" 512), involving at least xx thousand deaths... etc? The Rambling Man (talk) 14:29, 27 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

aviation pioneers edit

Milbornes talkpage is on my watchlist, so I saw the conversation about tabulating the page. I have a couple of comments on the format which I hope you will see as constructive and not sniping from the sidelines. While a table allows for sorting, it can be constrictive in that it forces you to fit an individual's activities into set boxes when a summary note is more flexible and more accurate. The check box approach also leads to abbreviated column titles which then need explaining. Date of birth is useful but date of death is not compared to the date they were active in aviation since some gave up early. GraemeLeggett (talk) 06:33, 18 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Not seen as sniping at all, I appreciate the feedback. I did find it quite challenging (difficult) to summarize some individual's accomplishments in a smaller space, and I recognize that is the difference between a summary text-style list versus a tabular style list. It seems to me (someone with no real background or expertise in aviation history) that a tabular format list allows for better organization and presentation (e.g., alphabetical order for names and nationality, chronological order for dates, grouping by aviation accomplishments, etc). I guess it comes down to details versus organization. I understand leaving it in it's present format, but it will require almost as much work to bring it up to speed through revision as it would to reformat it into a table. I find it educational and am willing to work on it in either format based on the results of a discussion. Thanks-Godot13 (talk) 20:38, 18 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Looking at the minor errors in your table format, it is "June" not Jun, "World War I" not WWI (most historians do not use the abbreviation, although that is often acceptable, in Britspeak, it is still "First World War" and "Second World War"); giving a "bare" URL such as http://www.princeton.edu/~achaney/tmve/wiki100k/docs/Hez%C3%A2rfen should be replaced by a configured reference source: "News at Princeton". Princeton University. (the bare URL is a "broken" tag anyway), dates are written out (in international style as DMY) rather than ISO-style dating (" 2011-03-03": should be 3 March 2011 or March 3, 2011), page numbers are abbreviated as "p." or "pp." (pages) followed by a space; all notations in bibliographic form should be ended in a "sentence" style by a period (full stop); use of a "Harvard comma" in list format is usually deprecated; mixing two reference styles is confusing- there are both American Psychological Association (APA) and Modern Language Association (MLA) styles in use (APA is most often used in the Sciences and MLA in everything else including the Humanities and Social Sciences) and finally, "plane/s" is deprecated as a colloquialism, as well as "aeroplane" as archaic and "airplanes" as a derivation of plane (although there is still quite a bit of controversy over the terminology). Note: I have re-written the "Canada" section into a list form; still my preference instead of a table (as per my already stated reasons). FWiW Bzuk (talk) 05:42, 20 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

I think my error was showing an example that is in progress (not finished/polished). It is supposed to show a basic idea of how the list could look, if it were to be finished. I think I made that somewhat clear on the talk page. (Also, in table construction, using DD MMM YYYY format is perfectly acceptable).--Godot13 (talk) 06:16, 20 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

DYK nomination edit

Hi Godot13, I have just resolved some wording (near paraphrasing) issues with the Charles R. Chickering (artist) nomination and was hoping you could take another peek at it if you have the time, as things seem to be moving kinda slow over there. -- Gwillhickers 23:43, 12 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for you're comments, I've responded to them. Regards. --TIAYN (talk) 12:56, 17 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

I don't really understand what you mean by "Sort by rank not done".. Since the doubles ranking were sorted according to the highest number in the team... Is the current version better? --TIAYN (talk) 21:20, 19 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
Are you planning to respond to the Mikhail Youzhny career statistics FL review?--TIAYN (talk) 05:11, 24 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
As Harrias already mentioned in the FLC review, we are all volunteers here. If someone doesn't take action as soon as you make a request, be patient.-Godot13 (talk) 06:14, 24 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
I didn't mean to be aggressive and rude, it was just a bad wording choice .... However, I'm going to be fairly rud now, in reply to you're "The new sorting/table style for the doubles matches is actually somewhat confusing", how does that help me? .... What do I need to improve? I'm still not getting it. --TIAYN (talk) 13:46, 24 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
I don't believe I called you rude, just a bit impatient. Your reply, which you caution as being rude is actually not rude at all, but a fair question. I responded on the FLC review page. Let me know if you have any questions.-Godot13 (talk) 00:12, 25 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
This is where I get lost, the former version did sort after rank (the highest ranking of the individual member of the doubles team)... So for instance, if the team has one player ranked 40, and another one ranked 7, the team is ranked 7.. Are you saying you want one, uniform ranking? If so, they do not exist. --TIAYN (talk) 18:38, 25 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • I think I see what the problem is: using the original double table, if you actually use the sort feature for the rank column, see what happens - the top player of the doubles pair is sorted by rank, but it is not perfectly chronological. The 7th pair and the 9th pair are not in order. This was my original concern. You could simply remove the sort function from the rank column (versus a fairly labor-intensive use of hidden-keys) and keep the original design because it is visually better. Does this make sense?-Godot13 (talk) 19:37, 25 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
I just want you to support the article :p .. no, but seriously, I have to be really stupid because I don't see it... Anyhow, I've readded the old table, and removed sortability from the Rank column. It should be fine now, right? --TIAYN (talk) 06:49, 26 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
Wait, I think I've actually fixed the problem, better now (the old one is still there)--TIAYN (talk) 07:02, 26 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
Done. --TIAYN (talk) 07:25, 29 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Wiki Loves Monuments 2013 competition in Israel edit

Hi Godot13,

I noticed that you've been uploading many great images taken in Israel. FYI, the Wiki Loves Monuments 2013 competition in Israel is still going, there are 5 days left, and with your high-quality images you have a fair chance of claiming a prize or getting into the top 10.

Please let me know if I can help you in contributing your photos uploaded between September 15 and October 15 to WLM.

Thanks, —Ynhockey (Talk) 14:48, 10 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi Ynhockey- Thanks for the message. I have had some difficulty figuring out which are the appropriate monument tags for some images and if you feel like adding the relevant tag for inclusion in WLM I would be very appreciative. Also, I have a recent FP on commons of the mount of olives (aerial overview) and I don't know if that falls into any specific category, as well as some images from the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. Many thanks in advance-Godot13 (talk) 22:25, 10 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
Actually most of the holy sites in Jerusalem aren't on the lists because we do not include archaeological sites, so I was wondering if you had any photos of other historical sites uploaded recently. Both photos recently promoted to FP on EnWiki that you took (Reading Power Station and Old Jaffa) are in the lists so they would be eligible if uploaded on September 15 – October 15, but alas. Do you have any similar photos uploaded last month, or maybe others that you can upload until the competition ends? Cheers, Ynhockey (Talk) 11:25, 11 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Delisting feature picture edit

You have voted on the delisting of US Postal Currency 5 cent 1862 1863. Some new information has been presented. Would you consider reviewing your vote?

The deletion request was started because it was assumed that File:US-Fractional (1st Issue)-$0.05-Fr.1231.jpg was the same currency as File:US Postal Currency 5 cent 1862 1863.jpg. The Fr.1231 currency was in better condition so it should replace "US Postal Currency 5 cent 1862 1863" as the featured image. They are not the same. The older file is of type Fr.1230 because it has an ABC monogram on the back. As a security measure, the US Post Office had the front and back of the bills printed by two companies. The back of the Fr.1230 was printed by the American Banknote Company and their ABC monogram appears in the lower right corner. The Fractional currency (United States) article explains the difference but does not show an example. -- SWTPC6800 (talk) 18:53, 25 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Question re: Star Spangled Banner Flag edit

Hi Godot, got a question. Any chance the Smithsonian would be willing to donate a high resolution image of the Star Spangled Banner Flag (low one here)? I think that would be quite an important piece of history to get out there. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 13:53, 1 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

I make no guarantees, but I do know exactly who to ask. I will be there the week after next. Any world currency that tickles your fancy for WP?-Godot13 (talk) 20:43, 1 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Thanks. I rather like the old 1950s/60s rupiah... the current series is a bit too bright. I haven't been exposed to enough world currency to make a firmer selection, though. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 23:16, 1 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
I'll see what they have. Good thing though, Indonesian currency is in the public domain...-Godot13 (talk) 01:02, 2 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Indeed, it's quite lucky (for us). The 1968 series, if I remember correctly, has Sudirman on all denominations. Quite an interesting character, that one. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 01:05, 2 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
