Speedy deletion nomination of 1635 in Quebec

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on 1635 in Quebec requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. StevenJ81 (talk) 03:12, 16 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Mark Womack (Canadian actor)

edit

You recently moved Mark Womack (American actor) to Mark Womack (Canadian actor). The article did say he was Canadian, but as far as I can tell that was vandalism and he's an American actor. However, before moving the page back to "American actor" I figured I'd ask you if you had some other reason for stating he was Canadian.

(Anyway, is he even notable? Perhaps the article should be simply deleted, instead of keeping it anyplace.) Sideways713 (talk) 13:26, 12 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edits

edit

Hi there, thank you for your edits but you must read the guidelines about biographies of people notable for only 1 event and how Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a newspaper. Not every subject of news reports deserves an article. The need to classify people by how they been helped by animals is also very unlikely to be defining characteristics. Finally, from your phrasing, it appears that English isn't your first language. There are lots of other wikipedias in almost every language, with most other language wikipedias lacking many significant articles. It might be best if you contributed in your native language. As you obviously understand English you could try translating articles from English into other languages. regards, The-Pope (talk) 23:53, 12 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Template:Mona the Vampire

edit

The purpose of navboxes is to facilitate easy navigation between related Wikipedia articles. They should therefore contain only links to valid Wikipedia articles. This means that links to websites outside Wikipedia should not be included. Per WP:NAVBOX redlinks and multiple links to individual articles should not be included. {{Mona the Vampire}} has been modified accordingly to comply with WP:NAVBOX. Please do not restore non-compliant links to the template. --AussieLegend () 03:27, 22 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove templates notifying other users of deletion discussions

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Template:Mona the Vampire. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Removing the deletion template does not stop the deletion discussion. If anything, it hurts the page, because editors who might be inclined to recommend the page be saved don't know the deletion discussion is ongoing. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 02:41, 24 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

I'll add to the above that it has been explained to you that navboxes should not contain redlinks, multiple links to the same articles and external links, yet you've persisted in restoring these to Template:Mona the Vampire.[1][2] Persistently restoring this content is disruptive and should not continue. --AussieLegend () 08:11, 24 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
