Priyanka Chopra

Despite what it is called, I don't see much of anything about modeling in the modeling section. Also, please do not add any more citations in the lead. They need to be in the article body. BollyJeff | talk 02:20, 7 September 2012 (UTC)

If you can find some modeling info for her please add it in the early life or other work sections. BollyJeff | talk 02:27, 7 September 2012 (UTC)
I am not familiar with that, but there are a lot of editors who are against putting love-life information, and she herself in this article is quoted as saying that she does not talk about it. Other personal life info that is not covered in the early life section, if it has proper sources, may be okay. But no gossip. BollyJeff | talk 02:39, 7 September 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, that looks okay. More things might be needed for a whole new section though I think. BollyJeff | talk 02:54, 7 September 2012 (UTC)
I don't know who did this, but we need to use the correct article titles in the references. BollyJeff | talk 21:15, 9 September 2012 (UTC)
Best actresses of 2008 has no ref; it was dup of 2009 ref. I changed the others to the correct page where I could. Why don't you just leave singer? Others will just add it back. I think its okay now. BollyJeff | talk 00:14, 29 November 2012 (UTC)
I will look. When so little info is available you gotta wonder. Also, can you find a source for that 2008 listing? BollyJeff | talk 00:35, 29 November 2012 (UTC)

Priyanka Chopra (lead) section

Hi, Gleek How are you doing? Well I have some concern over your edit on Chopra's lead section. I saw you removed details of her recent success and Filmfare Awards. I know we can't add much to lead but if you see even Hollywood personalities like Meryl streep , there is detail of every won academy award and others. Since, FA are prominent in India so they must lie in the lead. Also, you removed recent success of her films. Again if you see other pages, they have recent success as well in the lead. It shows she had commercial success as well along with critical. If these are not included in lead then it may cause negative effect on readers as most of readers only love to read introduction lead. That's why I am saying it gives more effective impression that she also had commercial success as well. Hope you understand and pls don't remove it from the lead. I will talk the same for Bollyjeff as well.let's see what he think.Green Parakeet (talk) 09:25, 10 December 2012 (UTC)

I had told him, pls comment on my talk. Thank You.Green Parakeet (talk) 09:35, 10 December 2012 (UTC)
My point is have you mentioned that barfinis one of highest grossing film of all time, no na? Do how readers will know, pls don't delete all content in the lead, if you are talking of karrena kapoor, the editors have even added Kabhi khushi kanji gham was highest grossing, then why not here???Green Parakeet (talk) 02:23, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
BollyJeff and I have already agreed on this. Check his talk page. GleekVampire (talk) 02:25, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
yes, you are right and think itslookgood with saying " she has received 4 filmgare awards". Yes, nice decision , ok then but I'm adding about her Tamil debut, since its her Tamil debut film and is a highlight of her career. Thanks Green Parakeet (talk) 02:37, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
If you see Balan's page, there is separate inclusion of her tv acting Debut and film debut in 2005, so I'm saying for that.Green Parakeet (talk) 03:00, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
If you see balan's page ,there is ample details about her tv,gmbengali and Hindi film debut.Green Parakeet (talk) 03:03, 11 December 2012 (UTC)

Chopra artistry

Gleek, can you go to the Chopra article talk page and give your opinion in the FAC continued section about a proposed artistry section for the article to give it more balance? —Indian:BIO · [ ChitChat ] 11:51, 13 December 2012 (UTC)

Chopra section headers

I was trying to compromise with Pks1142, who wants no negative at all! How about 'ups and downs' for the second section? I was afraid that this might start a debate. Oh, I see you are reverting more of his stuff now, haha. BollyJeff | talk 21:02, 13 December 2012 (UTC)

Peer Review

Hi Gleek, Howzz you doing? User:Giants2008 told me to take Chopra list for PEER REVIEW. It will help for its further improvisation. Please contribute as much you can. Thanka you.(Pks1142 (talk) 09:05, 17 December 2012 (UTC))

Its ok, i was about to adopt original format, as i was working on it in my sandbox and the earlier version which you reverted had all sources, verifiable sources with correction. Ok i will again do it. Refrence not need to be in boxes as you can check FLC lists. Thank you for your help.Pks1142 (talk) 10:02, 17 December 2012 (UTC)
Thanks Gleek.....hey would you work on its Other Awards section, pls formatt it properly as i has worked on other section. Also, you know some of the nominations are not true for ex. Best villain at zee cine, check i had referenced it. I'm gonna correct it. Thanks once againPks1142 (talk) 10:23, 17 December 2012 (UTC)
HI Gleek pls correct following things
  1. 1 nominations for Andaaz and the hero at Zee cine
  2. Not nominated for best villain 2005 IIFA, watch wiki article IIFA 2005
  3. Not nominated superstar of decade, since all the 10 nominations were previous 10 year winners, so Chopra's name in that doesn't make sense.
  4. Best debut at IIFA , they don't nominate any body, they directly award them.
  5. Add Best female icon at 2011 zee cine awards, see Bollywoodhungama reference.
  6. Sabsey favorite 2008 nomination are not proved what say remove or leave.
I'm typing fast don't mind to my grammatical mistakes... hehe 11:05, 17 December 2012 (UTC)
Hi, GV well I had corrected what you were saying but I had retained the width of columns and rows bcoz if you see other FL they have same width and looks good. Earlier some boxes were small, small large .now it's balanced. And hey, thanks for telling my mistakes on miss world honors in award boxes. ThankaPks1142 (talk) 10:34, 21 December 2012 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Emraan Hashmi, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Romance (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

New version

New version of artistry section. It is more neutral and I think no one will oppose; Have a look here. I'm confident this is neutral and has no issues. Still, some work is left. Prashant  Conversation  04:20, 29 January 2013 (UTC)

I know that GV, but it's not that. Because to prove that is film is a critical failure or commercial failure... one can't have to use some reviews. If you see Balan and Kapoor article, they very much use the same. You know many sources are not bad but, it was going against the article. Its size seemed so much but in actually, it seems coz of the sources. My point was (which bollyjeff understood) that why use too many source for proving one claim or if many points are given in a single source, so why use different ones for every point. But its fine until everything is linked to source and proves the claims in the article. Cheers! Prashant  Conversation  03:58, 31 January 2013 (UTC)

Help

I'm not sure how to use this—Help:IPA for Hindi and Urdu. I've gone through it over and over but I still can't seem to figure out how to convert names. I'd like to convert the following: Emraan Hashmi, Randeep Hooda, Imran Khan and Varun Dhawan. Thanks in advance! :) GleekVampire | talk! 19:24, 13 February 2013 (UTC)

If what you want to do is write those names in Hindi, I don't think that page will help you. What it's for is working out what a Hindi or Urdu word actually sounds like, when given its IPA representation. On their articles, look in the left hand margin for an entry हिन्दी under "Languages". That will take you to the corresponding article in the Hindi Wikipedia, where you will see the name written in Hindi. If that doesn't give you enough, Category:User hi-N is a list of users who are native Hindi speakers; you have the problem of finding one who is active, and I can't suggest any better way than clicking on a name and then on "User contributions". Similarly اردو under "Languages" and Category:User ur-N for Urdu. JohnCD (talk) 20:15, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
Actually the IPA representation is what I'm having trouble with. All the GA and FA articles have them; for example Priyanka Chopra has this next to her name—"(pronounced [prɪˈjəŋkaː ˈtʃoːpɽaː];)". I want the same for the articles that I've mentioned above. GleekVampire | talk! 20:39, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
Ah, I understand, but I can't help, so I have reset the "helpme" to attract someone more useful. JohnCD (talk) 20:43, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
Ok thanks mate! :) GleekVampire | talk! 20:44, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
You could try looking back through the history of Priyanka Chopra, or other articles that have the IPA, to see who added it, and ask them. JohnCD (talk) 20:47, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
Good idea! Lemme give it a try. Don't remove the "helpme" though. GleekVampire | talk! 20:51, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
The user is no longer active. :/ GleekVampire | talk! 21:11, 13 February 2013 (UTC)

Have you tried asking at Help talk:IPA for Hindi and Urdu or Help talk:IPA. I have changed the {{helpme-helped}} because those who monitor usually respond to general questions and are not as likely to be knowledgeable in such an esoteric field. It actively pings the IRC channel with the message so I've removed it until you try those other two places first. I'm sure someone at the talk page for the IPA will be able to assist you. Mkdwtalk 22:55, 13 February 2013 (UTC)

My trials are these. Mostly they must be right. If you know Hindi, you should be able to get these. They are just pronunciations of Hindi alphabets.

I have heard these two ways of Hooda's pronunciation. You choose which you wanna use. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 11:06, 18 February 2013 (UTC)

My reply: I'm not really good at peer reviewing, but just make sure that all the sources u have used in the article are reliable and that the claims in the article match them. article must also be formally and neutrally written, that's the best i can say. Note

I would rather not review that since I already contributed to the peer review, sorry. Now let me ask you something. It looks like you did the image rights for this image [1]. I was thinking to change the picture on her article to this one [2] because it is a more proper heard-shot, and she usually does not wear red lipstick as in the first pic. What do you think? The main problem is that the rights don't look... well, right on it :-) Could you do this file up correctly so that it can be used, either by fixing this file or uploading a new version from BH? a lot of the direct quotes are reviews and it is hard to do a good paraphrasing of those that captures the quality and fine points. but there are a few of his own quotes like the time he spent at the jungle school that could be restated as facts. let me think about that. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 12:16, 13 April 2013 (UTC)

Priyanka Chopra (born 1982) is an Indian film actress and singer, and was the winner of the Miss World pageant of 2000. She has become one of Bollywood's highest-paid actresses and one of the most popular celebrities in India. She has won a National Film Award for Best Actress and Filmfare Awards in four categories. She made her acting debut in the Tamil film Thamizhan in 2002. The following year, she starred in The Hero, her first Hindi film release, and followed it with the box-office hit Andaaz. She subsequently earned critical recognition as a seductress in the 2004 thriller Aitraaz. By 2006, Chopra had established herself as a leading actress of Hindi cinema with starring roles in the highly successful films Krrish and Don. After receiving mixed reviews for a series of unsuccessful films, she received critical acclaim for her portrayal of unconventional characters, including a troubled model in the 2008 drama Fashion, a feisty Marathi woman in the 2009 caper thriller Kaminey, a serial killer in the 2011 neo-noir 7 Khoon Maaf, and an autistic woman in the 2012 romantic comedy Barfi! She released her first music single "In My City" in 2012, and her second single "Exotic" in 2013. (Full article...)
