Why Ping Lian Yeak deleted

Hi, could you please restore the Ping Lian Yeak website. It is not a copyright infringement because I'm putting the article up for him so I got the write up from his mother. Other websites may also have the same information because its the official writeup for his biography...

RfA thank you

Thank you!
GlassCobra, it is with deep awareness of the responsibility conferred by your trust that I am honored to report that in part to your support, my request for adminship passed (87/14/6). I deeply value the trust you and the Wikipedia community have in me, and I will embark on a new segment of my Wikipedia career by putting my new tools to work to benefit the entire community. Recovery of deleted MySpeed page

Hello GlassCobra, I had posted this in User talk:Krimpet and they suggested I post it to you. I didn't realize you were the one that deleted it or would have started here. Please read the discussion I've been having with Blowdart about the speedy deletion of a page called MySpeed. The page was posted by User:Enounce which has also been blocked. If it's possible I'd like to try to recover that deleted page so Blowdart can review exactly what was posted. Thank you. --Rosso1876 (talk) 19:57, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

Hmm, that page was deleted by GlassCobra (talk · contribs · blocks · protections · deletions · page moves · rights · RfA) - he might be able to best help you out. krimpet 05:31, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

Re. The High Speed Scene

After this comment I have put some time into asserting the notability (though it isn't perfect) and even more time into the refs and ext.links. I think it could not hold it's own in an AfD. Leonard(Bloom) 03:55, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Peg Productions

Please allow me some time to develop the Peg Productions page, you just deleted it. It wasn't finished! You deleted all the pages I was mid writing. Not very helpful. I realise that. I was mid writing an article about it. I have no intention to advertise.

thank you!!

Thanks GlassCorbra for doing that! It was really sweet of you. At first when I notcied my autograph book was gone and I looked at the history, I saw your name and thought I was getting vandalized! But thanks anyway! And also, I have to go now, but I'd like to have a conversation or two with you tomorrow if that's okay. I think we're going to be good friends, and I would never want to miss an oppurtunity like that! Bye! --Soccer5525 (TkCtrb) 00:12, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

Hi GlassCobra. Nice to talk to you again. I noticed that on your userpage it says you go to Northeastern University. My cousin also goes there too. I dunno if you know her or not thought. --Soccer5525 (TkCtrb) 22:50, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

Oh I love Wikipedia. It's great! But I don't think there's anything I need help with now. Probably, there'll be another time when I need help with something. So since you go to college in Boston, are you from Massacuhsetts? I am. --Soccer5525 (TkCtrb) 14:05, 22 July 2008 (UTC)

I know that disclosing to much info like that is bad, but as long as I don't say like my phone number or adress, it's ok. Besides, my cousin has a Wikipedia account, so she's cool with it. And about the banner thing, I asked him/her earlier about it and they haven't replied. I also the user, Milk's Favorite Cookie about it, but he hasn't responded either. So I'm working on it. And also, when you get a chance, can you sign my shoutbox and autograph book? That'd be great. --Soccer5525 (TkCtrb) 17:41, 22 July 2008 (UTC)

In my archive trolling, I stumbled across a response you gave to me re Mass Effect on Xeno's talk. Never actually saw it till now. FineECKS (talk · contribs)
In the highly unlikely event that this person turns around and starts editing constuctivly, do you mind if I give them another chance? - brenneman 06:22, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

Actually, the block wasn't just for that one comment, but all of that user's contribs. I don't think unblocking would be a very good idea. In that short span of time, I also ran into User:Nothiba, who vandalized in a very similar manner. Further, just after I reverted Nothiba, I got a spree of IMs calling me various derogatory terms and slinging parts of the song used in the recurrent vandalism. I don't think whoever these people are mean well. GlassCobra 06:39, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

eCars - Now!

Hello,

Yes, I did put the full article on line but then deleted it. The purpose of this Wiki entry is to gather specific knowledge in one place for the process of converting cars from gas to electric.

This is not an infringement (that I know of) on "eCars - Now!" since, I believe, this is exactly the type of expansion that they seek. It is a little difficult to tell since their website is in Finnish and the Google page translation is only approximate.

Do you still have qualms with my creating this site?

Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/L'Aquatique

It isn't really appropriate to ask for personal information from a user, particularly on RfA where there is a pressure to respond to every question as delicatly as possible. But, mostly due to the user's edit history, I am confident that the questions were not well intended. Prodego talk 05:07, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

As to question 2, it sounds a lot like the old mongo trolling. Prodego talk 05:10, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
The problem with question two is above, as for the edit pattern, the user is brand new and has made more edits to RfA than any page that isn't his user or user talk page, as well as making a grand total of 6 article edits. His first RfA edit was to add inappropriate questions to Gazimoff's RfA, where similar questions were removed just a few hours ago. Prodego talk 05:17, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

Tim Russert

Regarding your question on my talk page, there was a small consensus on the 2008 talk page that death needed to be notable. To 'decide' what was notable or not it was agreed that a personality with 9 or more articles translated would be 'notable'.
Maybe you want to add an entry for Tim Russert in the 2008 in the United States article rather. FFMG (talk) 13:57, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

Soulja Boy

I'm a little curious as to why you removed the Arab section. Soulja Boy and Arab are very close partners and Arab doesn't have an article so he should be mentioned in the Soulja Boy article. XxJoshuaxX (talk) 18:12, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

Also, about the image: The Flickr uploader mistakenly put CC as the license, and the Commons admin reviewed it without knowing that. But that image has been used as a promo so many times. XxJoshuaxX (talk) 18:17, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

3RR Violation

He has clearly violated the 3RR per violation of non-vandalism. eric (mailbox) 18:17, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

Putting a non-free image in an article and claiming it to be free is vandalism. XxJoshuaxX (talk) 18:19, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
No actually it's not. Blatant vandalism is the only reason to avoid the 3RR. You have reverted edits to that article more than 5 times. You have violated the 3RR. --eric (mailbox) 18:20, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

Gentlemen, no need for bickering. The image should not be added to the article until its status has been confirmed. The section on Arab will not be re-added to the article. You both have violated 3RR, so please do not point fingers. No blocks will be issued as long as both of you refrain from edit warring. GlassCobra 18:22, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

I've no longer continued to edit since my third revert, rapidly reverted edits is not appropriate. I removed the SD template on the commons page has well. --eric (mailbox) 18:24, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
Cobra, are you going to check the image? Also, I don't like edit wars either and never been in one which is why I stopped. So admin, please notify me the outcome. --eric (mailbox) 18:27, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

WP:CHICAGO survey

thankspam

Thanks to everyone who participated in my RfA, regardless of their !vote. I have withdrawn the nomination as a failure at 19 supports, 45 opposes, and 9 neutral statements.

As has been written and sung, you can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you get what you need — and what I need is to go back to working on our shared project. Not everyone has to be an admin; there is a role for each of us. After reflection, I feel I don't have the temperament to secure community consensus as an admin at any point, and I will not be applying again in the future — and hey, that's all right, 'cause I stay true to the philosophy that adminship is no big deal: I tried, I failed, and now I'll return to doing what I've always done. I have an extremely strong belief in the consensus process, and the consensus was clear. I will be devoting my energies to volunteering at MedCab and working up a complete series of articles on the short stories of Ernest Hemingway, among lord knows what else. Thanks again to everyone who spared the time to weigh in on this one. It was made in better faith than it probably seemed.
Mr. IP Defender of Open Editing 14:23, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for participating - you are probably right that I was asking for too much blind faith. I'm probably not suited for a position of real accountability. I thank you for weighing in and not just opposing because it was an unusual nom. Cheers, and I'll be working with you in the future. Mr. IP Defender of Open Editing 14:23, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the clarification. Don't worry - I'm not offended that people wouldn't take the claims of a 500-edit user with a mysterious past at face value - especially after the Archtransit disaster. That makes plenty of sense. When I say that I feel I may be unsuited to the process of admin confirmation, and possibly adminship in general, it's more of a separate personal reflection. I think I may be best helping out in other ways. Mr. IP Defender of Open Editing 14:40, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, I already did it ... 99.141.128.0/17 should shut him up for a bit. We have several sizes of flyswatters; happy to try them all. Antandrus (talk) 05:13, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
I know ... it is pretty ridiculous, but then some of these kids must be seriously starved for attention. That range was a risky one, since I found three non-vandals active on it in the last three hours, but they were only doing small things (I bring up the last 5,000 anon edits, which covers about three hours, as a way to see what the consequence might be). The /18 probably would have been safer, but it's only three hours. Oh well, he probably got bored with us and went to 4chan. Cheers, Antandrus (talk) 05:52, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
