Welcome to Wikipedia! edit

Dear GirishAdiga: Welcome to Wikipedia, a free and open-content encyclopedia. I hope you enjoy contributing. To help get you settled in, I thought you might find the following pages useful:

Don't worry too much about being perfect. Very few of us are! Just in case you are not perfect, click here to see how you can avoid making common mistakes.

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

Wikipedians try to follow a strict policy of never biting new users. If you are unsure of how to do something, you are welcome to ask a more experienced user such as an administrator. One last bit of advice: please sign any dicussion comment with four tildes (~~~~). The software will automatically convert this into your signature which can be altered in the "Preferences" tab at the top of the screen. I hope I have not overwhelmed you with information. If you need any help just let me know. Once again welcome to Wikipedia, and don't forget to tell us about yourself and be BOLD!

Also, thank you for adding the SamskritaBharati article.

I added a "tag" to the article suggesting it be "wikified" (formatted to Wikipedia norms) -- see Wikipedia:Guide to layout for more information on this. Having said that, however, "content is king" on Wikipedia, not formatting, so don't get too worried about the tag. We have lots of formatter/editors but we always need more people adding additional substantive material and starting new articles. I hope you'll keep adding to Wikipedia. --A. But please note: on Wikipedia we create an article once. If alternative titles are considered appropriate, we use #redirect. -- RHaworth 16:34, 29 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for Image:Nrusimha.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Nrusimha.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 12:07, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion requests edit

As you've tagged the above articles as as under construction, I've removed the speedy deletion requests for now. I would however urge you to update the articles in line with Wikipedia's manual of style. --JD554 (talk) 10:20, 26 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sandbox edit

I have moved Astadhyayi 1.1.005 to User:GirishAdiga/sandbox. Please work on one article at a time in the sandbox. Balekudru Shreematha edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Balekudru Shreematha, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Balekudru Shreematha. An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Kalhaṇa. Since you had some involvement with the Kalhaṇa redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion (if you have not already done so). Sitush (talk) 00:31, 17 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
