Georgian–Armenian War edit

Hi Giorgi, I'm here again to ask you to stop reverting so much at these articles, and to make sure you never violate WP:3RR (though edit warring without violating 3RR can also be blockable). The way to proceed is to make your edits, and if you're reverted go to the talk page to gain consensus, per WP:BRD, using article RfCs as appropriate. Many thanks, SlimVirgin (talk) 02:09, 26 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Caution edit

  • From your recent edits on Reprua River, it appears that you are editing in a manner that could give the appearance of a political POV regarding the status of the nation/s the river is located in. In addition, you have continued to attempt to edit the article to your preferred version even after being reverted; if continued this is considered edit-warring. Please follow Bold, Revert, Discuss and discuss your proposed changes to the article on the article's talk page, and/or through WP:RFC, instead of continuing to attempt to push a POV through editing. Thanks. - The Bushranger One ping only 18:23, 28 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
What a nonsense are you writing man? ("regarding the status of the nation/s the river is located in?") There is written that this river located in the county Abkhazia, Abkhazia IS NOT COUNTRY ! The river located in Georgia, G e o r g i a.--Balakhadze 18:54, 28 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
What are you doing it is real political POV. -_- --Balakhadze 18:58, 28 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
Abkhazia is a Partially recognized state, that is, de facto, a country; de jure it is disputed by Georgia, however stating that the river is located in Georgia and that Abkhazia is not country[sic] is a pro-Georgian WP:POV. Listing both and noting that there is a dispute over the validity of the territorial claims may be an acceptable and neutral compromise, but it needs to be WP:DISCUSSed per WP:BRD so that WP:CONSENSUS can be established. - The Bushranger One ping only 19:02, 28 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
That said, I've readded {{Abkhazia-note}} to the article, as it seems to be a clear statement of the disputed status. However, regardless of the status, the Georgian flag should not be added to the infobox per WP:MOSFLAG. - The Bushranger One ping only 19:04, 28 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
Ah you can edit and add what you want without discussion, but I can't yes? What is a wrong with adding Georgia in country list? What is a wrong with this ► {{Georgia}} ([[Abkhazia]]<ref>{{Abkhazia-note}}</ref>)? --Balakhadze 19:15, 28 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
Saying Abkhazia is not a country at all, is clearly Georgian POV. No matter if Abkhazia is a legitimate state or not, it exists, at least as a de-facto country and that probarbly won't change for decades to come. Saying it is part of the Abkhazia region of Georgia is denying the facts. Georgia has absolutely no control over Abkhazia and since there are a couple of states that have recognized Abkhazia, it is now a partially recognized state and we cannot be quiet about that. The article wasn't really neutral before either, but it's even more POV now and doesn't really reflect the political facts at all. Abkhazia exists AND is recognized by some states, no matter if we like it or not. --Maturion (talk) 08:36, 18 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Population density edit

I just noticed you updated population figures for Georgia page but you forgot to update the outdated population density, which would naturally also have to change. The new density figures should say 65.4/km2 (population divided by area) and 169.3/per square mile (population divided area in miles) - could you please update? ~~~~

July 2013 edit

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Lake Amtkel a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. CIA rank edit

It seems that after you updated Georgia's population, you forgot to change the rank. According to your source - https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/rankorder/2119rank.html?countryname=Georgia&countrycode=gg&regionCode=mde&rank=122#gg - the country now ranks at 122, not 121. Hello. Dag13 objects to the statement about Abkhazia on your User page. Please comment at User talk:Dag13#Your User page. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 21:16, 14 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

It looks like other users are dealing with this situation and I hope they will be able to help you both negotiate. As others have said, indeed people should avoid offensive statements on their user pages. Let me know if you need help with anything else; I left Wikipedia for a while but I'm back now and I've edited some on Georgia and Abkhazia articles a long time ago. The reason is that you're soap-boxing about the conflict in Abkhazia and South Ossetia. The reason is that two other editors have asked you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 20:49, 16 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
I've already removed text which may included soap-boxing (WP:NOT#SOAPBOX). But sharing articles is not soap-boxing. Dag13 can restore articles about Stalin and Beria and this won't be soap-boxing. It's just sharing, it's not my fault that names of the articles are bloody ://--g. balaxaZe 20:58, 16 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
Giorgi Balakhadze, please do not cite 'others' as a trite excuse for prevarication. 'Others' who have engaged in disruptive behaviour have also been asked to desist. The next time you need to be pulled up, it won't be in this casual forum with a few editors asking you nicely and politely explaining why your behaviour is inappropriate. --Iryna Harpy (talk) 22:24, 16 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Truth will never disappear

Take a deep breath and read about "The Truth", then Seven rules of place naming. If you are incapable of laughing at these, you may have to consider rethinking whether Wikipedia is the right venue for you: start a blog or join a forum. Contributors suffering from WP:COI are not good candidates for being able to edit in certain areas of Wikipedia and are actively encouraged to desist from contributing to relevant articles. Thank you for your understanding. --Iryna Harpy (talk) 22:37, 16 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
In the beginning I just wanted that Wikipedia gived to readers really neutral information about that territories, but I saw that there were many users which were strongly supported secessional point of view, I really didn't wanted to make boxes like above, after all what I saw here, I had no other way to show even to one user, what were real reasons of conflicts in Georgia. Freankly speaking I know that my behavior was not perfect, but I've started all of this after Russian Wikipedia (:/) and Russian users. After showing their imperialist views in their user pages and contributions.--g. balaxaZe 09:52, 17 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
Being Ukrainian, I can assure you that I do understand what the issues are and am aware of POV pushes. Think of Wikipedia as a long term project. All that warring on Wikipedia will accomplish is a bad personal reputation, extreme frustration and possibly being blocked. Rome wasn't built in a day. --Iryna Harpy (talk) 04:26, 18 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
And have you ever think about georgian behavior? I think that is same as russian maybe little worse. Whad i could think about georgians after this when you first edited my userpage and i first seen your userpage, what everyone could think about georgians after they look at georgian wiki(for example on article about Georgia you have this map. Isnt it POV?). Maybe you should first repair georgian wiki then you start revenging grievances on others wikipedias (that same applies to russians).
(Reaction on your comment on my talk page) Stalin and Berija were georgians and both practiced on Abkhazia their demographic engineering when Abkhazian were killed and theyr lands were give to tousands georgian settlers. That is reason why in 1989 were in Abkhazia 45% georgians. In 19. century there was about 100 000 Abkhazians and about 0 georgians. I am not support ethnic cleans of ethnically Georgian dwellers witch were before 20 years and I am not support ethnic cleans of ethnically Abkhazians dwellers witch were before 100 years, if you(georgians) now seize abkhazia there will new ethnic cleans of ethnically Abkhazians dwellers. You are much bigger nation and you have much bigger country they havent other country. So please have mercy with your little neighbors who live with you for tousants years in peace.--Dag13 (talk) 12:31, 18 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Map edit

Hi, please dont change map on article about Abkhazia on czech wiki, because on czech wiki is different style for maps unrecognized or partly recognized de facto states. None of this states havent original state marked. Look on this: Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, Transnistria, Somaliland, Kosovo, Taiwan, etc...

PS: You should repair maps on your wiki than you start "repair" POV other wikies.--Dag13 (talk) 17:08, 26 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. Disambiguation link notification for January 10 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Abkhazia, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Leselidze. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

March 2016 edit

We do not do like this. If the flags of an unrecognised state are in the city, we don't cut them off the photos. Wikipedia - is the wrong place for nationalism. Ilya Drakonov (talk) 12:13, 3 March 2016 (UTC).Reply

Ilya Drakonov yes, Wikipedia is wrong place for nationalism or pushing separatism, in Sokhumi there are many kind of flags not only "separatist" one. This issue is very hard and controversial so please stop pushing this "flag" as native for Sokhumi or Abkhazia. --g. balaxaZe 13:57, 3 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
Blocks in Russian, Esperanto wiki's and Commons for political edit warring is not enough for you? You are still trying to leave only Georgian position in all conflicts. Ilya Drakonov (talk) 14:53, 3 March 2016 (UTC).Reply
And also, could you please hide the userboxes about Russian troops and Sir Putin as it is done on my user page. Thanks. Ilya Drakonov (talk) 14:57, 3 March 2016 (UTC).Reply
Russian wiki? Please... blocking only for my own user page yep... Commons? Blocking for trying being against Polish user who wanted to put Abkhazia and Tskhinvali in country list without explanation... nope don't dream for that until Wikipedia will be full of anti-Georgian users and pro-Kremlin Putinists I won't stop. I am sure for you Crimea is part of Russia and Putin "Самый Вежливый".--g. balaxaZe 15:26, 3 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
Folks, who don't stop, go to the block list. If you don't stop your cross-wiki edit wars, the stewards will have to block you globally. And please, hide the userboxes I have told you about. Ilya Drakonov (talk) 15:29, 3 March 2016 (UTC).Reply
What do you think about yourself here? You think that you are in Mordor Russia? You are just simple editor and you can't tell me what to do on my page or stop or not editing Wikipedia. --g. balaxaZe 15:34, 3 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
Ilya Drakonov you are pro-Russian, pro-separatist, you support Putin's "United Russia" and you are just for one year in Wikipedia. Be worried about yourself, it is you the most possible to be blocked than anyone else. --g. balaxaZe 15:39, 3 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
I'm not asking to stop editing Wikipedia. I said, that you must read WP:UP#NOT or ru:ВП:ЛС (if you don't understand English well). This rule is about stuff, that you can't have on you user page. Answering on your first question: I don't think anything abuot myself here, just editing Wikipedia:) Ilya Drakonov (talk) 15:43, 3 March 2016 (UTC).Reply
Oh, I see:) If I support Putin, I can't edit Wikipedia? Hmm, that's for the admin's notisboard, sorry. Ilya Drakonov (talk) 15:44, 3 March 2016 (UTC). Ilya Drakonov (talk) 15:43, 3 March 2016 (UTC).Reply

Category:Files of Giorgi Balakhadze edit

Hi. There's no need to waste your time categorising your files in something like Category:Files of Giorgi Balakhadze - you can always see files you've been involved with by filtering your contribution page by namespace File - like this. Cheers. Le Deluge (talk) 14:04, 11 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

"Appearance" on Georgian page edit

I wasn't aware previously that material pertaining to the "Appearance" section was removed by another user before I removed it. I would like to clarify that I am not the same user and I do not have a Wikipedia account. It seems to me, and perhaps others, that the use of generalizing-descriptors like "tend to have lighter features" is a stereotype. If you would like to showcase Georgians in a collage-gallery then that is a way to show what some famous Georgians look like.

The citation of an 18th century book that upholds "Caucasian" as a race is not appropriate in the modern context on Wikipedia (along with 'crainiology' measurements that are instruments of scientific racism). I suggest that you add a section "Past Characterizations" to the page if you would like to cite historical attitudes to what constituted Georgian characteristics. 169.231.122.124 (talk) 18:21, 20 April 2016 (UTC)Lauren — Preceding unsigned comment added by 169.231.71.96 (talk) Reply

Threats edit

You are the one changing the status quo from something plainly neutral and not making any claim either way on the question of political status to something with a deep nationalist bias, you did so without consensus, you got reverted, and the onus is on you to get that consensus.

I am not a new editor, and I am not the least bit cowed by threats that some Georgian nationalist will have me blocked for ensuring some articles remain neutral. You are not a new editor either, and your efforts to ignore WP:BRD and just threaten users who disagree with you is, uh, off, to put it lightly. The Drover's Wife (talk) 10:41, 1 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

So for you formulation like a capital of the republic [of Abkhazia] is neutral and not nationalistic but my revert to real neutrality (by remove of this) it is nationalistic. Simply Bravo.--g. balaxaZe 11:00, 1 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
The account that emerged on that talk page is extremely suspicious, considering that after a handful of edits in 2013 it mysteriously shows up to support you on that talk page. Do I need to request a sockpuppet investigation? The Drover's Wife (talk) 11:21, 1 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
Do it if you want, but he is Georgian Wikipedia user. --g. balaxaZe 11:23, 1 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Friendly asked question edit

Hello Sémhur, I like your maps and thank you that you contribute to Wikimedia, I am also interested in maps I read descriptions below your maps but could you tell me (or link) how you made mountains black-white layer (the one above colored relief) here ► commons:File:Abkhazia_map-fr.svg? I know how to make shaded relief and I know how make the same in GIS but I can't find similar content as the black-white layer :) --Giorgi Balakhadze (talk) 12 juin 2016 à 21:36 (CEST)

Hello Giorgi Balakhadze. I you know how to make shaded relief, it's easy to obtain the relief black-white layer. In Gimp, go to the color to alpha command, choose white colour, and then it's done! Sémhur (talk) 18:56, 13 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
Thanks Sémhur (talk), btw this is my work Topo map of Georgia.svg appraise it. :) --g. balaxaZe 19:27, 13 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
Nice work! Will you upload this file in Wikimedia Commons? Sémhur (talk) 05:02, 14 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Blocked editors edit

Blocked editors are not allowed to get around their blocks through sockpuppetry. You say you've read WP:EVADE; if you have you will have noted how minor the example contributions that are considered potentially worth keeping (typo fixes and vandalism reversion) are. If you feel blocked editors should be allowed to contribute to Wikipedia, you need to propose a change in policy. CMD (talk) 22:19, 13 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

CMD do not make accents that he is blocked. WP:EVADE says "This does not mean that edits must be reverted just because they were made by a blocked editor obviously helpful changes can be allowed to stand", so what has he made wrong in his contribution in the talk page? He wrote an argument about issue on which most voters agree. You are misunderstanding WP:EVADE. I don't want to start edit war with you so be patient, to solve this I think will be better if we call administrators for detailed explanation of the rule.--g. balaxaZe 22:27, 13 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
CMD and please stop reverts (or pushing your edits) before issue is solved! --g. balaxaZe 22:28, 13 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
The misunderstading of what it means to be blocked is on your end. You are welcome to call upon other users and administrators regarding this matter. Whether a blocked user's opinion is popular or not is quite irrelevant to whether they're evading a block or not. CMD (talk) 22:31, 13 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Chipmunkdavis: I am not talking with my decisions, I am showing to you that it is written in the rule. You have no right to remove their contribution just because they were previously blocked unless you won't explain why his edits were obviously unhelpful or irrelevant.--g. balaxaZe 22:33, 13 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Chipmunkdavis: WP:EVADE says: but the presumption in ambiguous cases should be to revert. So I am giving you an opportunity to explain to me what you have seen ambiguous in his edit. If not I will revert your remove and in case of another revert by you I will call for Admins reaction.--g. balaxaZe 22:44, 13 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
This editor is not just previously blocked, but has been blocked indefinitely from 2010 onwards. As I noted in edit summaries, there is nothing ambiguous in talkpage comments. They are clearly and unambiguously not a change to an article, and were made in violation to a long-standing block. WP:EVADE presumes reversion to be the default response. I encourage you again to reach out for further opinions if you do not understand this. CMD (talk) 22:50, 13 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Chipmunkdavis: So according you when a blocked editor's contribution is not in an article you must always revert it? Show me where is this written please.--g. balaxaZe 22:56, 13 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
Blocked editors should not be editing, as they are blocked. Please read over Wikipedia:Sock puppetry for a full explanation of this. CMD (talk) 23:01, 13 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
