Proposed deletion of TransferGo

edit

The article TransferGo has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline and the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (companies) requirement. If you disagree and deprod this, please explain how it meets them on the talk page in the form of "This article meets criteria A and B because..." and ping me back. Thank you,

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. I am afraid your arguments are not very valid - see Wikipedia:Arguments not to use in deletion discussions. What this article needs is proof of mainstream press coverage. You can, however, remove the prod and request a larger deletion discussion; this is certainly your right. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 07:28, 14 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Gintaras. The problem here might be that Piotr doesn’t read Lithuanian and so doesn’t realize that it has gotten mainstream press coverage in Lithuania as well as from Techcrunch. I suggest putting in some references from newspapers that have Wikipedia articles, like from this Lietuvos rytas article [1], this 15min.lt article [2], this Delfi.lt article [3], etc. (The refs don’t need to supply new info – you can add them to existing sentences if they support the info that’s already there.) I’d also recommend wikilinking the publishers in the references – to make it clear at a glance that the article uses mainstream sources. There are multiple news articles dedicated to the company, so it does meet WP:General notability guidelines. You already have two mainstream third-party sources, so one more would do, but having four wouldn’t hurt.

Then take out the prod notice. Piotr can then take it to WP:Articles for deletion if he wishes, you don’t need to "request a larger deletion discussion."

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. V.G., Novickas (talk) 13:15, 14 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

P.S. On re-reading the Wikipedia:Proposed deletion policy, I see that improvement isn't necessary, just suggested, so I removed the prod notice and listed some sources on its talk page. It couldn't hurt to put them in, tho. Novickas (talk) 14:12, 14 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Nomination of TransferGo for deletion

edit

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article TransferGo is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/TransferGo until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion.
