Basilosaurus edit

Yes, the image I worked from was oversimplified. The better images show whale-like flukes and nub-like hind limbs. I'll update it when I get a little time. Bhumiya (said/done) 22:23, 9 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I just uploaded a new version (Image:Basilosaurus illustration.jpg). I think it's an improvement. Thanks for pointing out the mistakes with the original. Bhumiya (said/done) 08:47, 22 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Period or epoch edit

Hello Giant Blue Anteater,

Don't worry, I'm, calling them periods now (I presume those fish articles you saw were from one or two weeks ago). But the 'cene' ones are not periods? It's kinda confusing as a lot of books with geological timetables make no difference between, say, the Eocene and the Jurassic, even though one is apparently a period and the other an epoch. They divide the Paleozoic and Mesozoic into periods and the Caenozoic into epochs but imply these subdivisions are all the same thing.

And people call the Wikipedia unreliable....... Jerkov 14:26, 15 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Epochs are put into periods, the epochs Paleocene, Eocene, Oligocene, Miocene, Pliocene are put in to the Tertiary period, while the Pleistocene, and Holocene are put into the Quaternary period. --Giant Blue Anteater 00:24, 19 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Zoo Tycoon 2 edit

I was NOT being rude to that guy GBA, I was simply putting him in his place. It was blindingly obvious he was lying as no pictures of either a Tiger or a Great White shark have yet been released.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to put it, but I had no idea how else to contact you.

Hey edit

Better Images edit

My advice would be, if you've got a vector graphics program, like Freehand or Flash, use the vector drawing pen tool. Also, I try to keep all the stroke lines the same width. And color, unless it's sketched out, usually makes it look pretty elementary. What program do you have? --Meneitherfabio 22:48, 30 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

I use flash. I recently upgraded my Haikouichthys picture. My old one is cheesy compared to the new one. Giant Blue Anteater 22:50, 30 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Amiskwia edit

hey1 You're a pretty cool user, and since you have flash, could you send me the .fla file of teh Amiskwia? I have flash too and would love to use that creature for a math game I am making set in the Cambrian. THANKS! --HomfrogHomfrogTell me a story!ContribulationsHomfrog 10:40, 2 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Um... You can use the "Email this user" function in the toolbox when you are on my page. Oh right! You can't attach things with that. So, it This place, okay? Grood. --HomfrogHomfrogTell me a story!ContribulationsHomfrog 11:26, 3 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Also, I'd like both the files. Okay? Grood, if possible. --HomfrogHomfrogTell me a story!ContribulationsHomfrog 11:28, 3 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Concerning Gobiatherium edit

Do you mind if I uploaded a different picture of Gobiatherium? I wanted to put your profile (of the beastie) together with the profile we have of Uintatherium, but, I've just realized I don't know the HTML/Wikiese to do that...--Mr Fink 05:11, 29 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

So I've stuck the two profiles together, and put them in their own subsection. Hopefully, I can eventually get someone to make it pretty.--Mr Fink 05:28, 29 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Darwin's Toxodon edit

Thanks for the correction to Charles Darwin that Toxodon is a notoungulate rather than a rodent. However, that's a name that doesn't appear in Owen's paper as cited, and presumably postdates Owen's naming of the species. The paper does refer to "the Rodent structure presented by the teeth" and "a resemblance to the Toxodon which I have not found in any other Rodent besides the Capybara", so I've modified the statement to note a resemblance rather than saying that it's a rodent. This is a refinement that Darwin's biographers Desmond & Moore didn't pick up, and Darwin seems to have been unaware of it when he wrote to his sister Caroline,"There is another head, as large as a Rhinoceros which as far as they can guess, must have been a gnawing animal. Conceive a Rat or a Hare of such a size— What famous Cats they ought to have had in those days!"[1] Thanks for the hint, I'll try to bring all the mentions of this into line. . dave souza, talk 22:28, 18 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sorry for not replying, but I wasn't logged into Wikipedia. I thought that was a correction that would be worth implementing, so I made that edit. Giant Blue Anteater (talk) 19:12, 25 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
