Wikipedia and copyright edit

  Hello Ghsimr1995, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Draft:Dr. Gaur Hari Singhania Institute of Management and Research have been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 20:57, 6 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading File:Ghsimr logo.png. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. Non-free rationale for File:Ghsimr logo.png edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Ghsimr logo.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

ATTENTION: This is an automated, bot-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 03:00, 14 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Dr. Shekhar Trivedi edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Dr. Shekhar Trivedi, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.  FITINDIA  12:06, 1 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest edit

  Hello, Ghsimr1995. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Dr. Shekhar Trivedi, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies.

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 12:58, 1 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Regarding the page itself, it needs to indicate with independent reliable sources how the subject meets notability guidelines, in this case WP:BIO. Most of the sources you seemed to not be independent of the person you were writing about(such as the person's college biography) Wikipedia is not interested in what an article subject or things associated with it say about a subject, but with what outside, third parties state about it. 331dot (talk) 13:00, 1 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of File:Shekhar Trivedi.JPG edit

The file File:Shekhar Trivedi.JPG has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:GHS-IMR Logo.png edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:GHS-IMR Logo.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Vladlen Manilov / 12:05, 24 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

November 2023 edit

As previously advised, your edits give the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. You were asked to cease editing until you responded by either stating that you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits, or by complying with the mandatory requirements under the Wikimedia Terms of Use that you disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Again, you can post such a disclosure on your user page at User:Ghsimr1995, and the template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Ghsimr1995|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. Please respond before making any other edits to Wikipedia. DoubleGrazing (talk) 08:20, 23 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Dear Team,
I would like to confirm that I have not taken any kind of monetary benefit from anyone to create or edit this article. I am not connected with the client in any way. I created this article to contribute my services to Wikipedia, and any information about this article was not previously available on Wikipedia. Ghsimr1995 (talk) 08:39, 23 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
When you say "this article", which article would that be?
And what do you mean by "the client"? -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 08:43, 23 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Till Now, I have created two articles, and for both articles, I have not taken any kind of monetary benefit from anyone. The word "Client" mean the person or organization who can reach to me to pay for any services.
Again, I confirm that I have not taken any type of benefit from anyone to create any articles or edits. Ghsimr1995 (talk) 08:50, 23 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
One of the two articles is Dr. Gaur Hari Singhania Institute of Management and Research (= initials "GHSIMR"), founded in 1995. Your username is Ghsimr1995. You mean to tell me this is just a coincidence, and you have no connection with the organisation? -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 10:00, 23 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
I am from the organization, and I am the IT Administrator of the GHS-IMR. I created this article for informational purposes only so that people could be aware of the education and colleges available with the right and authentic information. Whatever information I have mentioned, I have provided the proper citation for links to it. I have not used any language that is promotional or promotes the institute. Ghsimr1995 (talk) 10:07, 23 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Whether or not you have used promotional language etc. is not the main point here. The main point is that you are writing about your employer, which makes this paid editing, and more to the point undisclosed paid editing, of which the community takes a very dim view. Please disclose your paid-editing status as soon as possible and in any case as your very next edit. Thank you. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 10:25, 23 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Ok, I will update that, that would be great of you help me how can i add that in my page?
Thanks in Advance Ghsimr1995 (talk) 10:41, 23 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
The {{paid}} template and instructions were provided at the start of this thread. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 10:46, 23 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
I would like to confirm that I have not taken any kind of monetary benefit from anyone to create or edit this article. I am not connected with the client in any way. November 2023 edit

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because your account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  • Provide a new username.

To do this, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Spicy (talk) 17:39, 23 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

Dear Team, I am extremly sorry if i have made any mistake as i was not aware of the Wikipedia policy. I confirm that i have not taken any monetary benifits from anyone neather i created these articles for any kind of promotional activities. I request you to please unblock my user name and change it to the new username as i have proposed. I assure you that, in future i will not make any such mistakes.

Decline reason:

You do receive a monetary benefit- you receive a salary from your employer. That is paid editing, full stop. I assume that you do not work for free, that you need to make a living. You do not need to be specifically paid to make edits or specifically asked to edit to be a paid editor(otherwise every paid editor would deny being specifically paid to edit). You must make the paid editing disclosure; that is a Terms of Use requirement. You will not be permitted to, in the short term, make further conflict of interest related edits, so we will need to know what edits you intend to make instead. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 08:52, 24 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
(Non-administrator comment) With respect, a conflict of interest query was posted on this talk page more than six years ago by 331dot. Latest from that point onwards you should have been aware of this area of policy; whether you chose to read and understand, or simply ignore, that message is of course entirely down to you. You have now stated (although still not properly disclosed) that you are employed by Dr. Gaur Hari Singhania Institute of Management and Research, so it's unclear why you continue to insist that you do not receive compensation – presumably your employer pays you for your work, do they not? --DoubleGrazing (talk) 07:19, 24 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Ok, please guide me on how I can add the paid editing disclosure to my page. Also, my article is nominated for deletion; how can I request to undelete it from Wikipedia? Ghsimr1995 (talk) 10:52, 24 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
(Non-administrator comment) Not sure who you're addressing there, but I'll assume it's me.
You can make your paid-editing disclosure here on your talk page for now.
Yes, I have nominated the GHS-IMR article for deletion, because there is no indication that the subject is notable. IMO, it should never have been accepted at AfC in the first place. It was then taken to AfD, which delivered a 'delete' verdict, but this was based on minimal discussion so was considered a soft deletion. This allowed you to request its restoration, which you did, but the lack of evident notability still hasn't been rectified, hence the current AfD discussion. Against all that, I don't know what you mean by "request to undelete it from Wikipedia", as it hasn't been deleted yet (this time around), although in about a week's time that might change. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 11:16, 24 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:13, 2 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
