September 2016 edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a message letting you know that one or more of your recent edits to That's the Spirit has been undone by an automated computer program called ClueBot NG.

Thank you. ClueBot NG (talk) 02:41, 12 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hello. Some of your recent genre changes have conflicted with our neutral point of view and verifiability policies. While we invite all users to contribute constructively to Wikipedia, we urge all editors to provide reliable sources for edits made. When others disagree, we recommend you seek consensus for certain edits by discussing the matter on the article's talk page. Thank you. Kokoro20 (talk) 19:37, 13 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Marvellous Spider-Man. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —the one you made with this edit to What Do You Want from Me (Forever the Sickest Kids song)— because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Take Off Your Colours edit

You really should've asked the primary contributor to the article if it was okay to nominate this article for Good Article status. You're lucky I'm okay with this one. I was going to nominate this one in my next cycle anyway. And let me know when they do review that article on my talk page, please.

I feel like you may not know what's actually required; it's not determined by how popular, cool, or historic the subject is, it's determined by the overall look of the article and its information, and its adherence to WP:WIAGA. For that reason I've reverted your nomination of That's the Spirit, because honestly, it's not even close to good quality. See something like 12 Gauge (Kalmah album) for a better example. dannymusiceditor Speak up! 22:21, 19 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Nomination of What If (Simple Plan song) for deletion edit

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article What If (Simple Plan song) is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/What If (Simple Plan song) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Vanjagenije (talk) 07:49, 4 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Out-of-process GA nominations edit

GerardWay86, your GA nomination of Simple Plan was the latest in a series of nominations by you that have failed to following the Good Article nomination instructions. In particular, you seem to be ignoring the following: Nominators who are not significant contributors to the article should consult regular editors of the article on the article talk page prior to a nomination.

You are also both new to Wikipedia editing and to the Good Article process. A GA isn't only an article you think looks good, or even ought to be a good article, it needs to meet a specific set of standards. What Is a Good Article lists these standards, and Simple Plan didn't meet them: large sections of the article have no sources and therefore lack verifiability, a basic tenet of Wikipedia articles in general, and there were other issues as well.

I am going to have to ask you to stop nominating articles for GA, since it is clear you do not understand the standards, and since you have not been consulting editors who have actively worked on the articles, none of which you have edited in any meaningful way. The Simple Plan nomination was reverted, so as not to waste the time of a reviewer. You will want to gain a great deal more experience editing and otherwise improving articles. When you've done that, and perhaps nominated an article you have created or significantly improved for GA some months down the line, you might be ready to try your hand at nominating another GA, but certainly not before then.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions. BlueMoonset (talk) 04:21, 9 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:This is a photo of Gerard Franceschi's Heroes. I OWN NOTHING. ALL BELONGING TO THE PERSPECTIVE OWNER(S).jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:This is a photo of Gerard Franceschi's Heroes. I OWN NOTHING. ALL BELONGING TO THE PERSPECTIVE OWNER(S).jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 16:11, 17 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Matt Kean (disambiguation) edit

The article Matt Kean (disambiguation) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This disambiguation page contains the primary topic and one other topic for the ambiguous title and no other topics can be found within a reasonable time.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:02, 24 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
