A page you started (Helen L. Cannon) has been reviewed!

edit

Thanks for creating Helen L. Cannon, Geoproject!

Wikipedia editor Animalparty just reviewed your page, and wrote this note for you:

please finish at least a short, complete biography. Avoid WP:PEACOCK phrases like "outstanding woman" that promote a subject without offering concrete facts.

To reply, leave a comment on Animalparty's talk page.

I've moved the article to Draft:Helen L. Cannon for you to work on. In addition to the points raised by Animalparty I'd like to point out the following areas which need improvement:
  • The lede stops mid-sentence, like you'd suddenly lost interest.
  • There are empty sections. If there's nothing to say on that point, why point out that there's nothing to say?
  • "She past away..." -> "She passed away...", but it's better still to avoid euphemisms.
  • "Helen has received numerous awards and honors in her lifetime" - if you can't name any then don't mention it. As an encyclopedia entry we should aim to provide information, not vague unsubstantiated claims.
  • "an all men's science group" - which group?
  • The sources provided are mostly by Cannon, not about her. If you're going to show notability you need to show that her work has been noted and built upon.
  • It's customary to refer to the subject by their surname, not their first name. WP:MOS has guidance.
Hope that helps, Cabayi (talk) 12:49, 3 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
