Hello, Geoffreymckendry2243, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Yunshui, and as you already know I am your Online Ambassador for the UBC Human Ecology course. Thanks for introducing yourself on my talkpage. My job here is to help you to work within Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, to answer any questions that you have about editing here, and to act as your advocate in the (unlikely) event that you find yourself in a dispute with another user.

You are welcome to contact me at any time by leaving a message on my Wikipedia talkpage or by emailing me. I will usually respond to any messages within 24 hours (though I aim to be faster!), but if you need more immediate help, you can ask questions of experienced editors at The Teahouse or get live help via Wikipedia's IRC channel (connect here). Enjoy your course! Yunshui  23:24, 13 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Comments on your BIOL 345 proposal

This looks like a great project; the Hastings Park page is indeed a bit of a mess, and Brighton Park deserves a page too (it's such an easy park to overlook). Here are some comments and questions to keep in mind:

  • What other Wikipedia pages will you link to? I see that Hastings park has links to some big pages (e.g. the Forum) and some non-existent pages.
  • What other Wikipedia pages will you create links from, to your page?

A map showing the two parks would be great - would you be able to get one from the City and get permission to use it?

  • Please do your composing and editing in a Wikipedia sandbox. This will help build your familiarity with Wikipedia and will also allow me to keep an eye on your progress, offering help if I think it's appropriate.

Hey Geoff

So I created a Sandbox 2 page for our project which is on this link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Fcheng62/sandbox2

Rosie wanted us to communicate via talk pages so she can keep track of our activities but it may be easier if we can use the sandbox2 talk page to talk so all our dialogue and ideas are on one page. This was she can look at it and see our time stamps and our contributions!

Sorry about getting at you so late, I've been out of town for the reading break, and also my internet at home has some problems. I've started a discussion on that talk page, but you have my number if we need to get a hold of each other! Try to see if you can comment on the talk page and try editing the page. I have full access to it since it's under my name... but I'm not sure if it's going to work for you. If not.... I think we might need to create another "page sandbox" instead of it under a specific user name! Give it a try though.
